This spacious, enchanting, ocean bluff Old Hawaiian Plantation Home is perched on one-half acre above the beach at Kalihiwai Bay and the dazzling Pacific Ocean. The panoramic ocean, beach and mountain views are indisputably some of the most beautiful views on Kauai.
The bluff, hot tub and covered lanai all offer breathtaking views. Waterfalls can be seen in the distant Mount Namahana Range, especially after rainfall. Sunsets, rainbows and, depending on the season, dolphin and whale sightings can be seen while overlooking the picture perfect Kalihiwai Bay and River down below. The Bay is only about a three-minute drive down the road and the beautiful beach is great for body boarding and surfing. At the Kalihiwai River, adjacent to the beach, you can take advantage of kayaking and paddle boarding.
Completely remodeled, this air-conditioned vacation home is just perfect in all respects.
Our charming Hawaiian Plantation-style home features four bedrooms and three baths on a quiet cul-de-sac on Kauai's wondrous North Shore.
The kitchen features granite counter tops and oak cabinetry. All new stainless steel appliances including a french-door refrigerator; gas range; dishwasher; and microwave.
Two full baths are decorated in a pleasing island style. One with a stall shower and the other with a shower over tub.
A third bathroom is accessed from the back lanai and includes a half bath inside (toilet and sink) and an outdoor shower.
Lush tropical landscaping adds to the wonder and privacy of this remarkable property.
The Kilauea/Kalihiwai area is one of the premier, whale-watching locations on Kauai and seeing their spouts is an almost daily occurrence during winter months.
At the Kaohe Sunset View House you will be immersed in a feeling of 'old Hawaii' and surrounded by natural wonder where you can make your own special memories with friends and family.

Perfect house for our family. Great views,close to Annini beach and Princeville/Hanalei. This is our vacation home when we are in Kauai. Can’t beat it!

We had a wonderful time at the Sunset view house. The view was the best of any house we’ve stayed in while on island. The house was fine, there was plenty of room for for adults and the two children. One nice thing about the house is the closeness of a beach. If you go to the left, there is a beach that is fairly unoccupied and nice. The only area that they could improve in is the sheets mattresses and definitely pillows. These items all seemed extremely well loved and used. Also, you need more bowls in the house . Other than that, it was absolute paradise. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

SPENDING A WEEK JUST DIDNT SEEM LONG ENOUGH. THIS RENTAL CERTAINLY HAS IT ALL. LOVE THE LAYOUT OF THE HOME...PERFECT FOR TWO COUPLES. REALLY SPENT MOST OF OUR DAYS OUTSIDE ON THE GAZEBO..BBQ*NG AND EATING OUTDOORS.(WE RECOMMEND GETTING YOUR FRESH FISH AT THE DOLPHIN FISH MARKET IN HANALEI.)..JACUZZI AND OUTDOOR SHOWER AMONG THE HIGHLIGHTS. OUR QUICK DRIVE TO THE BEACH WAS SO EASY AND THE BEACH CHAIRS AND COOLER MADE IT PERFECT.. MANDY OUR CONTACT PERSON WAS GREAT..ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR US..EVEN THOUGH WE DIDNT SEEM TO NEED A THING. Property was great. Had a lot of space for our family to spread out and escape when needed. Separately, all the things you forget when traveling this place had, access to boogie boards, sand toys, detergent for laundry, rain ponchos in case you experience a light shower. I could go on, but I’ll spare you.
Our family was a group of 7 that hsd a variety of needs being we ranged in ages from 6 to 62. It met everyone’s need/expectations.
North Kauai is more remote, more natural and less commercialized. Our preferred way to experience where we travel.

This property was even better than its listing pictures and description. The views are unparallel, breathtaking, and the location is peaceful and very private. Beds were comfy, property immaculate and loaded with every possible dish, appliance and beach gear. Markets for food and restaurants are within 5 to 15 minutes. We enjoy the North Shore the most, and this location was perfect...within minutes of Princeville. Kapaa is a 15 minue drive and the airport is 40 minutes. We've stayed on the island many times and we will try to get this property on our return trips. Checkin out and communications with the host were incredibly easy and friendly. Can't wait to return. Maholo to our hosts!

The outdoor grounds with hot tub perched on the hill, lanai with fire pit and chairs, and dining table with barbecue – each with unforgettable views of the pali and coastline below. Nice indoor spaces and kitchen with large table for family gatherings. All the rooms are comfortable. An array of beach chairs, dive gear, and beach toys for children. A spectacular pleasant Hawaiian home hidden behind a humble front. Thank you for letting us visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Sunset View Hale. Teri was thorough and prompt in providing information on house rules, check-in, and check-out times. She also went out of her way to suggest activities that she thought we’d enjoy. Mandy was extremely helpful, even helping us out with a grill concern on New Year’s Day. Overall, an excellent experience, and highly recommended.

The home was absolutely perfect for our family which includes our 3 adult children, son in law, daughter in law (engaged on the trip!) and granddaughter. We have been visiting the north shore of Kauai for over 40 years, renting numerous homes over the years and this home is now our favorite. The pictures on the website are beautiful, but honestly don’t do it justice. In person, the views are just magnificent. The backyard is amazing. The house had every little detail you can imagine. The on island assistant Mandy is the best. I had several questions for her during the week and she was very responsive and super helpful. A pleasure to work with. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we hope to return again next year!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The view was amazing, the house was clean and comfortable. If you’re like us, you probably picked this place for the view and it doesn’t disappoint. We also loved the part of the island where the house was located. The house was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but you do still have neighbors (including a goat!). The small beach you can see from the property is very close and easy to get to. Very calm and quiet beach. The beds were comfy, the towels were fluffy, the coffee grinder worked. Would recommend and would stay here again.

There is every reason to love this property! We’ve stayed in quite a few beautiful VRBO homes, and this ranks among the best. The scenery alone is worth the price of admission! The home, while not fancy (which we prefer for a casual, relaxed vacation), is very comfortable, wonderfully equipped and conveniently located to beaches for swimming and snorkeling. We had 3 generations of family here, and it worked out perfectly. The hosts have thought of everything. And, oh, that view!
