Kailua Kai House was the perfect location for our family vacation. Having the large lawn space, trees and Kailua Beach in our backyard was ideal for our four young grandkids. The location of this house was exceptional! It was well maintained and sparkling clean when we arrived. We very much appreciated the plentiful beach equipment provided (chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, sand toys, etc.). The kitchen is dated but was plentifully stocked with supplies and spices. A special thank you for the welcome basket full of delicious treats! The property managers were very responsive to our questions and concerns before and after our stay.

The beach home is absolutely lovely and embraces all that is Hawaii - relaxed, soothing, sunshine, fun, and the aloha spirit. Being in Kailua was also great as its close to all the services needed. Kailua also has a great island vibe.

Our stay at the house was like staying in paradise: plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our extended family, beautiful beach in the backyard & dinners outdoors. We also enjoyed taking advantage of the grill, beach chairs, beach towels and boogie boards that could be used for guests as well. The washer/dryer for our clothes were also a very nice touch for our stay. Can't wait to do it again!

For anyone contemplating visiting Hawaii and NOT staying along the water, I cant implore you enough to reconsider and stay at this location. The property was immaculately maintained, the ocean is in your backyard, and every possible convenience was available for our use. We had a large family adventure on the island, and this easily accommodated our entire family with plenty of living, sleeping, and kitchen space. We would absolutely come back to stay again!

My family loved this place. Great location on the beach with a big grass lawn (for games), and friendly neighbors with children who befriended my granddaughters. Kailua is (and has been) our favorite town on the islands, and our stay did not disappoint. The house had everything you'd expect from a 5 star rental.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kailua Kai! The location is absolutely incredible with a gorgeous lawn and easy access to a picturesque beach. It made for a special time for our family of 10. The welcome gift basket with local Hawaiian foods was a delicious treat! We also enjoyed having the high quality beach chairs, toys, and games to use.Our only complaint was that the front bedroom by the entrance of the home had a bit of a large cockroach problem every night. It seemed to do with its location by the front yard? Otherwise, all guests were comfortable and happy.
My family (5 of us, kids ages 10,13, 16) stayed for spring break in mid to late March. It was the perfect island house, location could not have been better. House is as described by other reviewers. It’s comfortable, well stocked and just what you’d want. Communication with house management was easy. We had no issues. Absolutely loved it.
Our siblings stayed for a week in this wonderful house with ample space for 7. A generous welcome basket of Hawaain treats and snacks was waiting at our arrival! The outside shower was a high point to clean off the sand. The easy access to a quiet beach was perfect for us.

Wonderful site. Beautiful house even if it’s a bit hold. Great service from Steven an Maki. We really appreciate the pre-arrival grocery service. The house is fully equipped with beach accessories. My only negative point would be the see side windows where not clean we we arrived. It may be because of the rain every day.

We just came back home from our stay at Kailua Kai. We were a family of 10 ranging from 18 mo-84 years. This home was perfect for all of us. The house is appointed well with from the kitchen to the beach equipment. Everything we needed from boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, yard toys. The large lawn lawn leads to beautiful Kailua beach and Kailua town is just minutes from the house. It’s very private and everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Steven with Private Homes Hawaii was fantastic! Highly recommend. We will for sure be back!! Mahalo for our best family vacation!

Wonderful location. About a 5-7 min drive (1 mile) to most shops, food, and grocery in Kailua. You really cannot beat beachfront access! Made it so easy to go to the beach when ever we wanted. Lots of beach toys to enjoy. Kitchen was stocked with most things we needed. We only stayed in the two king rooms, which were clean and spacious. There are some critters that would show up at night/early morning (not alive, most of the time), just something to note. We didn’t see any in the bedrooms or bathrooms we were in so it wasn’t a big deal. There is no AC, so fans running most of the time to keep the airflow moving. We came in Oct, and temps were in the 80/70s so it’s wasn’t hot inside.Overall, great home. Beautiful views. Easy access. Spacious. Clean. And the to-do list for check out was short (which is appreciated!). We’d come back again!

Hard to beat the location and beach access.
We enjoyed the beach front home with daily sunrises. Kids toys, beach chairs and plenty of towels was great. Only negative comment is the house needs a face lift for it is worn.
