I've been a vacation rental property manager since 1996, and this is the best-equipped property I’ve ever seen. I always try to provide everything a guest might need at my own properties, but this one goes above and beyond! Peaceful and quiet.
I absolutely loved the location, on the Paradise Cliffs and right at the start of the trail to Hā‘Ena. Wow!!Also, the hosts' attention to detail ensured we had everything we could possibly need. I would love to stay here again.Thanks!!
This place is beautiful and spacious. The greatest thing for us traveling for long period was having washer and dryer within the unit. The house provides a beautiful sea view but is located at the end of the road, so you will be driving a couple of minutes from the main road.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cute little house. It was very, very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The bedroom also had an AC which worked great. In fact, after the first night, we felt it got cold and we ended up just opening the windows and turning the fans on. There were two bicycles with helmets for the guests to use which we happily did. And it was wonderful having a washer and dryer in the house itself. There was also a barbecue in the backyard, which was very clean and it was nice to be able to sit outdoors and enjoy the ocean view.You can hear the ocean waves from the bedroom and the coqui frogs were kept at a nice comfortable distance that they never were bothersome.We would stay with John and Maria again.
Just a great location, with miles of ocean front lava cliffs to explore right out the front door. The cottage is very charming, and extremely well equipped. We will be returning.
My wife and I had a great stay. Very peaceful and very beautiful. Very convenient to Volcano National Park and Hilo. We would absolutely stay there again.
Great Oceanside location. Host provided a clean, secure and comfortable place to stay. Great location from which to explore the Big Island. Great sunrises over the Pacific.

This property in Hawaiian Paradise Park was off the beaten path and a beautiful, secluded spot on the black lava cliffs overlooking the ocean. Every morning we watch the sunrise and whales swim by everything was available in the house and our hosts are extremely helpful. Thanks for sharing your peace of paradise with us, we really enjoyed our visit.
The combination of the sunrise views and the waves crashing ashore made this a wonderful stay. The house was clean and very well appointed. There is all kinds of beach gear as well as two bikes for guest use.There are local frogs that are quite noisy at night.while.it is a bit of a drive to get anywhere but it is a beautiful drive. Would definitely stay again.
The ocean front view was amazing, not to mention listening to the waves crash at night. John and Maria are wonderful host the place was clean and had everything needed to cook your meals. It also had a propane barbecue for grilling outside something I like to do with the nice weather. They also provided bikes, chairs for the beach, snorkeling gear and a beach umbrella. My wife and I had a wonderful visit to Hilo. John and Maria were very nice and helpful. Their unit is just short walk to the cliff overlooking the ocean. The unit is fully equipped with cooking as well as beach stuffs. Really enjoyed our stay at the property.
John and Maria go out of their way to see to every detail for a comfortable stay. We loved the property and all it has to offer! So much love and care has gone into their piece of paradise, and we are thankful that they share it!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The place was very cleanly and everything outside was really cool. The information provided also helped me find some good eateries in the area. Overall, I probably couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for a vacation.
My fiancée spent the second part of our pre-honeymoon at John and Maria’s beautiful VRBO! It was such an easy process to check in. Maria had reached out weeks before our arrival with instructions and always responded so quickly. The location was beautiful and the space was very clean! Maria and John provide everything you need to enjoy the island. They also left us a “suggestions” list of things to do in the area which is how we found the local farmers market which was a lovely time! The guest house was quiet and beautiful. We watched the sun rise from the Oceanside every morning and went out for stargazing at night. Their location is right next to procreated land so it was truly a beautiful place to be. We saw John and Maira a couple times and they were very friendly. If you’re looking for a perfect place to stay on the east side of Hawaii, this is the SPOT! Affordable and convenient. Thank you Maria and John, we loved the space.
Standing next to the crashing waves was definitely exhilarating and the unit is clean, new, and well stocked. The drive from the main highway can get tiresome since it is 4 miles of a straight line with never ending ups and downs! :p We used this as a base for Hilo and it was maybe not the best for that. The frogs have been mentioned by others - I used earplugs but my wife is not able to, so she was bothered by them. The water, even though triple-filtered, is still brackish and you must use the bounce dryer sheets when washing your clothes or they will smell. The hosts are pleasant, the parking secure, and the location private.
So, if you want to chill out and spend the day watching the ocean or walking the lava cliffs, this is the place for you.

A beautiful spot right on the water!! We could hear the waves crashing at night which we loved. Comfortable and clean with a well-stocked kitchen. Plus bikes and lots of beach equipment. We saw whales several times, once just from the kitchen. John and Maria were wonderful hosts and very responsive. Highly recommended!!
Very clean well appointed ocean side cottage with amazing views of a picture perfect sunrise with crashing waves against the cliffs.
We had a fantastic time here. The home is better than the pictures, and had everything we needed. The hosts have provided lots of items in the kitchen, bathroom and snorkeling/beach stuff for a great vacation.
We had breakfast by the cliffs every morning, and sat on our patio at night to see the Milky Way. Sleeping to the sound of the waves was just so special.
Overall, a very comfortable home and a great place if you’re willing to drive 20-30 minutes from Hilo downtown.
Very comfortable quiet place with many amenities. Great scenery for quiet walks. Saw whales everyday for a week Terrific owners/managers.
John and Maria were wonderful host's. John was very informational on everything I inquired about and much more. .Everything was as described and more. A very roomy Ohana with everything needed. It was furnished and decorated very elegantly. Great view with awesome exposure to the coastal terrain and beauty. One must stay there to experience such magnificence. I hope to visit the Big Island again someday and this will be my 'choice' place to stay...The 'real' Hawai'i...Mahalo!
