Pool was very nice! Room needs a little update. View to ocean was not as good as it was pictured.
We stayed at the Aston Islander our first trip to Kauai 7 years ago and loved it. When we found a room there through Vacasa/VRBO for significant savings over booking through Aston Islander, we jumped on it. We love the central location and being right next to amenities at the Coconut marketplace. The grounds are well kept and the room was clean and comfortable. When we travel to Kauai, our room is just a homebase where we can shower and sleep so we don't spend much time there. But what time we did spend there was pleasant. When our airline canceled our flight literally 3 minutes after we had checked out, Vacasa reps were extremely helpful in trying to help us secure an extra night if we couldn't get another flight until the next day. The experience was very good,e especially considering the savings.
The only hiccup we had was when we first arrived, the room was very clean overall, but the floor was still a little sandy and looked like it needed to be swept again. The room was also a little musty. I contacted Vacasa and they were VERY helpful and responsive. The room has a dehumidifier and when we used that, it did a great job of drying out the room and the musty smell went away. Other than these minor quibbles, it was a fantastic stay!
You can't beat the location and the affordable rate. We stayed for 2 weeks and had no complaints, staff were very helpful when needed! Even got 2 beach chairs to use, which was a nice surprise. Gorgeous beach access, great location, clean (and cold) rooms!

I loved being so close to the beach and seeing the ocean thru tropical plants and flowers. The sunrise often brilliant oranges and gold right at my doorstep on a lounge chair with my morning coffee, the lull of the ocean in the evenings and lovely cocktails if I wanted with friendly people from so many different states and countries.
Great location. Priced right. Pool and Jacuzzi were perfect. Bar at the pool made it better. Staff turned on the Bar Tv to be able to watch Soccer Semi-finals even though the bar wasn't open yet.
The room was very clean and there were snacks and treats when we arrived. The landscaping at islander on the beach was so beautiful we enjoyed walking the grounds and seeing all the different plants and flowers. We even enjoyed the chickens! The beds were comfortable the air conditioning worked well and was quiet. Slept great until the roosters woke us up ☺️
So close to beach, restaurants and shops! Great atmosphere. Slightly dated but location makes up for it. Staff was very helpful and quick to respond.
Room was okay, very homey. Only downside, sheets were filthy and mattress covers were even worse. Usually before we settle in anywhere we wash bedding/towels ourselves! Glad we did! Random peoples hair, sand, grass.
I love the location. Easy access to both the North or South shore excursions. I love the beach walkway. You can walk for miles following the shoreline trail. The condo is nice and the landscaped grounds are lovely. However, a stay here means dealing with frequent traffic delays.
This was a lovely retreat. The room was nicely decorated . The amenities were plentiful and included everything I needed for my 9-day stay including dishes utensils Etc. Close to the beach. Shopping and restaurants are in walking distance. I highly recommend this unit. Mahalo!!!!
