The condo was as depicted. It was spacious and comfortable. The living area had a Murphy bed (which I missed in the description) so each of my 3 kids had their own bed which was nice. The view is spectacular! It rained the day before we arrived and we had the most magical view of waterfalls all over the mountains above hanalei as well as the bay. The kitchen was a bit sparse-as an example there was only 6 plates so as a family of 5 that meant washing dishes after every single meal vs filling up the dishwasher. Laundry in unit was a big plus. The second bedroom does not have ac as described so it did get rather stuffy. There are two mini split units one in the master and one in the living room. I was also not completely clear when I booked it that this is a time share so I don’t think you always will get the same unit maybe just the same style. There was also an additional fee collected upon check in by the time share company that runs the resort. The beach you can access from the resort was lovely. The pillows could use a serious update but the beds were comfortable. One of the big downsides to our trip was how limited restaurants were in general especially right in the area. The few we went to also did not seem super jazzed about accommodating families. It was an overall theme I got in Kauai. I’m not sure if they aren’t in love with tourists or just not fans of little kids as a theme. It was our first trip to Hawaii with kids in tow.
The view off this balcony might be the best view from any hotel we’ve stayed in. It is breathtaking. The host was very helpful and informative. The check in process was great, but you have to go a ways to your room so they drive you in a golf cart. The location is beautiful and the resort pool and hot tub are great. Keep in mind you have to drive 15 mins or so to get to restaurants or grocery unless you’re eating at a hotel restaurant. But it is to be expected in Kauai- lots of driving to get anywhere! The a/c gets nice and cold but only in the living area and one bedroom. The other bedroom got warm at night. The beach is a ways down the hill but if you request a golf cart they will drive you there too.The only big negative for us was the bedding. The sheets and blankets are thin and scratchy and the pillows are flat. The rooms are also pretty dated, the pictures looked nicer. All in all it was a great trip!
