It was clean, but the coffee pot didn’t work and there was no cook top. We were hoping to have breakfast there and had purchased food to prepare, but were unable to. She had had painted t shirts and dish towels there to purchase, and those were very nice. We bought a few.
We unknowingly showed up a day early; our mistake. Thank goodness we had a bit of luck on our side and wonderful hosts who immediately did what was needed for our stay. The room clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable for a fantastic sleep.
We loved our overnight stay at Frank's cozy, comfy and very quiet Garden Room. And the fresh fruit and bagels in the morning were unexpected but delicious! The grounds are beautiful and the cat and dog very friendly!
The room was lovely! I particularly appreciated the owner's special touches, such as croissants and fruit in the morning. It's the perfect place to spend a night or two in Hana.
Everything was wonderful! Location, host, bed, bathroom, and the surroundings in the yard! Just gorgeous
Thank you Frank for being a very genuine and thoughtful host. Your place is just what we were looking for! - Mark and Karin
Exactly what we needed. Thank you, Anya. And the fruit was delicious!
Very quiet and beautiful grounds to walk around in and admire. The bed was super comfy. There were bugs but it’s the tropics! I napped in the afternoon prior to a sunset hike. The fan kept me comfortable ie no AC. The continental breakfast was spot on. Just what I needed to make the drive back to Kapalua. I’ll be back.
Perfect place for us to lay our head and get some sleep in between our explorations of the road to Hāna. This place has a magical garden and the land is beautiful.
It was a nice respite from the road to Hāna. We stayed at several places in Hawaii while we were there for 30 days. This is the only place that included breakfast - fresh fruit, croissants, and a drink; very much appreciated!
A bit more quaint than expected. Not a bad thing but the room gets hot and there's no A/C. Need OSS super soft. Kitchenette consists of a sink, minifridge and a few dishes and mini coffee maker. No micro wave, that we saw. Cat and dog are cool. Fresh fruit was delicious and appreciated. The room is adjacent to the main entrance and not as private as expected. Easy coming and going. Never saw or heard from hosts... not a bad thing but felt weird just walking in with no introduction or contact before during or after out stay. But it was good for a night, especially after a long day of driving and exploring this beautiful place.
The property listing location was 3.5 miles inaccurate. Nothing is more frustrating when you're traveling after a long day on the road and you have to navigate around town and scramble to find the place that was listed in the wrong location. The owner said another guest had the same experience. Hopefully they fix it sometime real soon for the next guests. This place is WAY over priced. We won't be back!!!
Very nice property. It was easy to communicate with the host. The room was very cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. Perfect end to the road to Hāna. Thank you!
Bed was super comfy, and room was perfect for our short stay. Easy access, and Shane was a cool cat, literally. Be sure to sleep with windows open to fall asleep with the rain and wake with the birds. ThanksThanks Frank.
Close to Hana hey, lovely hosts
Beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood with lots of trees and a friendly dog and cat to greet you. This is a great place to rejuvenate and relax.
We stayed with Frank and Anya for one night and loved the place! It had everything we needed to enjoy Hana to the fullest. We especially loved the basket of fresh fruit and tour of the gorgeous gardens from Hoku.
We spent a peaceful night in this nice condo. The fruit provided was delicious and the hosts were great.
Nice studio apartment with a basic kitchenette. Check-in was convenient. I appreciated the fresh fruit and continental brrakfast. A little pricey, but a good deal considering the other options in the Hana area.
Our experience at this property was deeply disappointing due to the behavior of the host, Frank. Despite informing Frank ahead of time that our family had an infant, upon arrival he immediately confronted us, visibly agitated, and accused us of being deceptive about our booking. He stated he was "pissed off," threatened to leave us a negative review, and almost refused to shake my hand after our conversation. Frank blamed us for not understanding his strict policies, despite his prior acknowledgment of our situation via text. This treatment was shocking and made us feel entirely unwelcome and unsafe. We are young parents traveling with an infant, and instead of being greeted with hospitality, we were subjected to an unnecessary confrontation late in the evening in an unfamiliar town. Feeling unsafe, unwelcome, and attempting to not inconvenience him, we immediately left without staying the night. He later refused to grant our reasonable refund request for the night we did not stay, even though we left the room untouched. He also exaggerated the state of the room to justify his refusal, despite our efforts to leave it in pristine condition.Frank’s aggressive demeanor and lack of professionalism make this property unsuitable for guests. Additionally, he has a history of responding confrontationally to negative reviews, so I expect we may see 'retaliation' from him for this review. Our experience with Frank was one of the worst we’ve ever had. Spare yourself the stress.
Checking in the creepy host insisted on being in the room with the door closed, to let us know if his animals make in our room that we will be charged. Living and dead bugs everywhere even coming out from behind the light switches. It was very evident that no cleaning has happened in a long time. There was no kitchenette or kitcken like it said. Zero chance for privacy the blinds that were there didn't even work and you could tell when they host woke up because sounds like there next to you. You are only allowed outside in the garden area a very limited time. Also we had no idea we were be filmed almost immediately when exiting our room and you should be made aware per VRBO policy just learned that. Bathroom door handle dont work so no privacy there either front door dead bolt not functioning. There is also little to no hot water and if you use the tube you will end up with no water at all per the host. Unfortunately in the Hana area lodging is very limited as is cell service so moving was not an option we toughed it out and im sure our bug bites will heal. I recommend visiting the area but do not stay at this place camping is much cleaner.
It was very nice. Just stayed for the night.
Great communication with hosts. Beautiful place to stay for a. Night. Loved the gardens and drag fruit left on the counter. Highly recommend.
Wonderful location and beautiful property! Shane (their cute and *very* friendly cat) was the first to welcome us when we arrived which made our stay even better. Frank was super nice and friendly. The fresh fruits, juice, coffee, and croissants were a great breakfast. The room was cozy and comfortable with tasteful decor.
Although there was no AC, the fan made it comfortable, and it was cool enough at night so that it wasn't a problem.
We wish we had the time to explore the gardens, but from what we could see, it was incredibly beautiful, especially around sunset. I would've loved to stay even longer!
Our stay was wonderful. Frank and Shane greeted us when we arrived. He had fresh fruit from their property for us for breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the location was great.
Great place to get away from it all!
It was a beautiful and much needed little mini getaway. I am looking forward to checking out the property when/if it quits raining...Red ginger is right outside the window along with some beautiful palms and bamboo. Bed was comfy. Fruit yummy...Thanks
