We have been to Kauai many times before and have stayed in this house on Haena Place many times. It is the perfect location on a quiet cul-de-sac in the back. The home itself is wonderful with 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths, a spacious living room and open kitchen area, and a huge covered lanai with ample furniture to relax, dine, or play games. The house is well-stocked, including the kitchen...everything you need is right there.The BEST thing is the private pathway from the house through the trees to the best beaches and views on the island! You can see the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets each day on the same beach, have great snorkeling inside the reef and find a spot under the trees on the beach if you prefer.Makana was very helpful in suggesting good activities to do. We went on the boat tour around the Napali in the morning and were delighted to go into actual caves. The views were breath-taking! We also attended a luau at Smith Family near Wailua that everyone enjoyed. We went tubing with Kauai back country adventures, and hiked the Kalalau trail to the falls. We bought Ono and Ahi to bbq at the fish market in Hanalei, had Shave ice at Wishing Well, shopped a little, and attended church on Sunday morning at the little green church. It was delightful to hear hymns we know sung in Hawaiian! We had our son, wife and 2 grandchildren with us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It was a most special vacation in every way! Hated to leave and definitely plan to come back again. This location and home are absolutely perfect!The girls at Makana are so nice and helpful. The day we arrived there had been a big rain storm the night before and the road was temporarily closed for several hours. They provided us another property to go to relax until the road re-opened. It was a good thing because we had already purchased groceries including many perishables that we were able to keep cold in the fridge. So nice and accommodating!!H

We had a wonderful stay at Haena Place, the home was comfy and clean, very close to the beach and the Na Pali Coast. We wished we cold have stayed longer!
We loved our stay at Haena House and the close proximity to Tunnels Beach where we spent many days during our stay snorkeling, swimming, and beach combing. The property was exceptionally clean and the layout was perfect for our family of four adults. We had many meals on the spacious decks. The home also had beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas for use during our visits to the beach.Staying in Haena is a bit remote with Hanalei being our choice for most dinners (15 min drive). The magical Limahuli Botanical Garden is a short 5 minute drive and a must do. We did lose power twice for extended periods (once due to storm) so recognize that is a risk for a more remote location.
Enjoyed the house as well as the location. Enjoyed relaxing, and eating on the lanai.The property manager was very helpful but arriving after dark made the check in process difficult since there was little to no cell phone coverage until we were able to get on Wi-Fi.
Our family absolutely loved this property! The quiet location on the North Shore, the easy beach access, and the awesome views were idyllic. The house was well stocked - with great kitchen tools, extra fans for the warm nights, and ample chairs/coolers/towels/etc. for the beach days. Easy checkin/checkout and great communication. We would definitely stay here again!
Stayed here with my 2 young adult daughters. Beautiful, clean, spacious with a tropical feel. Very short walk to the beach through the path at the bottom of the stairs. Took the beach chairs to watch the sunrise with my morning coffee most mornings. Lush greenery surrounding, blocks view of other properties so it feels very private. Close to Tunnels Beach, Hā’ena State Park and Hanalei. We had an amazing time and would stay here again.

We stayed 12 days and did not want to leave. The house is in a prime location with access to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We visited poipu beach and there is no comparison. The house itself is beautiful and well appointed. Loved the outdoor shower. we will definitely return.

It was perfect for everyone to have their own room and bathroom. The shared spaces of the living room, dining room, and deck (where we spent most of our time together) were comfortable & spacious. Even the centralized kitchen was easy to work in with multiple people! The best part was the feel of being in the jungle while hearing the waves and being able to walk a short way down to the beach! We also soon found out it was one of the best beaches so we didn’t feel like we really had to go to another one. We would definitely recommend this property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable, both inside and out on the lanai (which kept us dry despite multiple downpours). The kitchen was remarkedly well equipped making eating in a breeze, especially when we could only get into Bar Acuda for amazing tapas only once during our stay. Hanging out (or in) was definitely a pleasant option. The most important charm was location. The morning walk to Tunnels Beach took us 7 minutes (one way). Our afternoon walk to the closest beach took 3 minutes. Clearly, if you forgot something it was no big deal return home to fetch it. And high tide at the local beach featured 7 or 8 turtles feeding on the reef. Can one get tired of seeing sea turtles? Perhaps, but we assuredly did not. Speaking of green things, I have a particular fondness for geckos and the green (with red spots) geckos at the house were another treat! Finally, the sunsets were memorable. Would we book again? YES!!!!!!!

Our stay at this amazing house on the north shore was perfect in every way! Great location, close to the beach, comfortable beds, kitchen fully stocked and well organized, lots of beach towels and beach items. I would definitely rent this house again!
We stayed 5 nights at this wonderful house and it was marvelous. The house was spotless. Fully functional kitchen. Comfortable beds. We couldn't have asked for a better place. Bathrooms were spacious and fully stocked with the basics (shampoo, conditioner, soap). Fresh towels (both bath and beach) when we arrived.
The location is only steps away from the beach and the downstairs closet is full of anything you and your family would need for a beach day. Chairs. Umbrellas. Coolers. Snorkel gear. And most importantly, a wagon to tote it all.
The lanai is very spacious and we enjoyed many meals out there. BBQ worked great, too.
Working with the management company was very easy. Lots of emails leading up to our stay, and they were very responsive to any questions we emailed them. We were sad to leave, but will definitely look for this place again if we return to the north shore. Thank you for helping make our vacation amazing.

This beautiful home was perfect for our vacation. We had 6 adults, and there was plenty of room for all of us. Home came with everything we needed for our stay, was clean, and the property manager was kind enough to add a few extra floor fans for our stay at our request. Our favorite place was wrap around lanais where we spent most of our time when we were there. It’s a beautiful 5 minute walk on a path to Tunnels Beach where we had some of the best snorkeling. Saw so many different fish. The sunsets from the beach are amazing. We loved the privacy of the home.
We loved this home. We have been to Hanalei a few times and thoroughly enjoyed this location. The home is maintained like a residence (rather than a rental). The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the beach towels, chairs and accessories were all of high quality and well thought out.
Home was beautiful, clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed! We loved this home and its location - highly recommend!
