Property Description

Four room cabin. Full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. We pride ourselves on cleanliness and comfort. Our full kitchen is generously stocked with breakfast foods, fresh fruit and much more. The kitchen includes a smooth top stove, full sized refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave oven and more. The private bedroom has a comfortable Cal King bed. A CD/DVD player resides in the bedroom, along with music CDs and DVDs about Hawaii and the Volcano.The main room offers a convertible double bed, perfect for two kids. The private bathroom has a tiled stall shower and all the towels you could possibly want.
Crater Rim Cabin is located on the boundary of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in the edge of the ohia-fern forest of Kilauea. The cabin is nestled among ohia and koa trees in botanical-garden-like surroundings. At an elevation of just over 4000 feet we have a cool climate that is spring-like for most of the year. To keep you cozy at night, the cabin is equipped with a gas fireplace and warming blankets, in case you need them. The back yard is on the boundary of the Park, and it is about 2 mile drive to the main Park entrance. There are a great many hiking trails in the Park, or you can see many of its amazing geologic features by car. We are only 22 miles from Punaluu Black Sand Beach Park, where you can often see sea turtles sleeping on the beach. Crater Rim Cabin makes a great base from which to explore the entire southern and eastern portions of the Big Island.
