Canal Repair Project (Dec 17, 2025 – Mid-Sept 2026): Work runs Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no holiday work expected). Expect construction noise and limited parking along the canal.
Phase 1 Seawall Repair Project (Aug 10 – Sept 30, 2026): Expect noise, heavy equipment, and intermittent canal bridge closures Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Ocean-side rock work may occur from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM depending on tide conditions

One of Maui's popular vacation spots, Papakea is a peaceful Hawaiian Style low rise resort situated on 13 acres right on the ocean just a short walk to north Kaanapali Beach. The lushly landscaped grounds are immaculately maintained and adorned with red ginger and red palms. At dusk, every evening, the magical twinkling tiki lights are lit and reflect on the Koi ponds through-out the property. Papakea Resorts location is as good as it gets! Within minutes, an easy walk to Duke's, shopping center, Farmers Market, coffee shops, sandy beaches, snorkeling and surfing.

Guest reviews
The unit we entered was filthy. From nasty stains on the bathroom door, flooring that needed a good wipe, to bedroom curtains that had some sort of splatter on them. It was clear that the unit does not have a proper cleaning crew to support it. Sadly, their guest relations team determined that the complains were unfounded because we reported these two days into our stay. We simply spent little time in the unit as we arrived because - well, it's Hawaii so we decided to be outdoors. THey also called stains and splatter the usual "wear and tear". Never experienced that before. It's a shame because the unit does have potential given the proximity to the ocean. The condition of the property and the level of owner customer service simply do not match up.
