Volcano gem...cozy getaway close to volcano and hilo's best beaches

This place was perfect! Had everything you need and more. Great area and a way to stay off electronics! Very family friendly! Better than a luxury hotel!

We were very happy with the place you couldn't ask for a nicer host he was awesome even made us a salad from his garden. The only bad thing was that if you are handicapped and have trouble walking there are steps to get in and steps to go to the bathroom and shower. Also if you have a seapap machine there is no electricity by the beds to plug into so you won't be able to use your seapap. Beautiful country

A cool place to stay somewhat near Volcano. Totally off-grid, which was a surprise, but it worked out well. Glen is an enthusiastic, caring host who was happy to show us all he's done with the property, which was amazing. The outdoor toilet and solar shower are unique and very enjoyable. We'd stay there again!

The description was unclear about the outdoor shower being at least 25 feet from covered porch-the toilet was also off the covered porch. The dogs on site were very friendly and did not bark when they approached us. Host was friendly and lives on site. Property featured interior solar powered lights as well as a very lit solar powered exterior lights. Mini kitchen equipped with propane stove and a mini fridge was perfect for quick meals. For couples wanting a little off grid living it would be perfect. Driving through roads were well over five miles to get to highway and since it rains quite often I would suggest renting an SUV to keep road water entering the vehicle. We experienced very low visibility and water ponding on roads which took extra time to get to property gate. Bed was a cozy queen mattress which I was hoping it would have been a king size to accommodate my larger frame fiancée

If you’re looking for something a little different, Glenn and Lisa’s place is the spot.Really enjoyed relaxing on the back lanai in the morning, drinking coffee and watching all the beautiful birds.

If you like quiet, remote and clean with friendly hosts- this is your place. The bed was super comfortable. The stars can be vividly seen at night and the coqi frogs lull you to sleep. The outdoor shower is awesome. Glen and Lisa were very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. You can’t beat the accommodations for the price.

The place is as described! The hosts are great! Our stay was smooth.
