Best Hilo Location @ Richardsons Beach Park, Swimming, Snorkeling Sleeps 8-Save$

The House was cute. It surved our purpose. It could use one good cleaning. lots of dust on all window sills and any surface that is not in direct contact with people using the place. Beds, showers and kitchen were clean. Kitchen utlities for BBque and house were great. The Boogie Boards were for little kids so my teen agers were unable to use them. as far as Kyaks and surfboards they were non existant. the one surfboard looked as if it was so waterlogged it would sink and was missing a fin. the one small Kyak that was there was unusable.

The beautifully salty breezes were a comfort the last few days we spent on the island after we sold our Hilo home. The host replied very quickly to my booking request and he was kind about letting our pet stay.The home is a beach stay dream! Kayaking, BBQ, lanai with a table. The view of Richardson Beach was my favorite. We love Richardson Beach for the best snorkeling on Hilo side. I can't wait to book again when we come visit our family.Mahalo

Was an overall an amazing stay. Beautiful views plenty of activities for the kids and driving distance to anywhere on the island.

Our family enjoyed staying here to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from UH Hilo. The home has everything you need and we will definitely return.

It was delightful, wonderful view and great parking! This is a home from the early 1900's with lots of character. Close to town and so many beaches. Easy 45 min drive to Volcanoes Nat'l Park- Great location on the Hilo side of the Big Island.

This is a beautiful location, especially for snorkeling or swimming but it is noisy at night. Lots of people, trucks, roosters making it hard to sleep. The house needs some tlc and the cats that hang out use the area by the backdoor for a bathroom so its smelly. We did not understand that to get to the second bathroom and the third bedroom required going outside and down stairs to the basement level. No connection inside the house to the basement level.

This house is in a great location, incredibly clean, and well appointed with everything we needed. The check in process couldn't have been easier with the coded entry. The house could easily accommodate two families with the ohana unit downstairs. Unfortunately, one of us (all seniors) had a medical issue during our stay, but both the owner and the property manager were supportive and very responsive to our needs. We definitely appreciated their concern.I used to live in Hawaii and know this is one of the best vacation rentals on the Hilo side. You won't be disappointed...and you might even see whales from the lanai like we did on several occasions. Mahalo, Richard

We loved Richard’s house! You wake up and know you’re in Hawaii, with a great view of the beach and lush vegetation surrounding you. The place was clean, well furnished and well equipped. Would definitely stay again!

We had a great stay in this home and were very grateful for the immediate responses we received from the owner about a few items. We loved watching people surf and paddle board from the front porch and my three-year old loved the kitties that hang out there. We also saw a little black pig almost every day which was fun. The house had more than enough towels, toys and beach equipment that made our stay easy. We also really liked the black sand beach across the street and did some exploring on the rocks. If you are hoping to be in Hilo and near the airport this spot is perfect!

You cannot beat this location and the property is exactly as listed. We really appreciated all of the "extra" swim supplies and while traveling with my mom she loved having her own "unit" she could retreat to in the evenings. The houses are not new and they are on the water so of course there is a lot of "wild life" which includes turtles directly across the street! We had a few small issues and the customer service was TOP NOTCH. The owner responded right away and kept checking in which was nice. Recommend and will be back. Cannot wait to see this view again!

We loved this property. Directly across the street from beautiful beach and short drive to shops and restaurants in Hilo. Very peaceful and not in touristy location. We felt like we experienced the true Hawaiian vibe there. The property manager was very accommodating to our requests and included all necessary beach gear: water shoes, snorkels, beach chairs, etc.

The house is beautiful and was perfect for our family, the newlyweds got the room with the seperate entrance and the 4 of us slept on the main floor. Everything we could have needed was provided and we left some extra water shoes and snorkel gear for future renters. Coming from the AZ dry heat it did take a night to acclimate to not having AC in the house but after that we had no problems and really enjoyed the breeze from open windows. The cats would come by often and were well loved by our kids. We will gladly rent from you again! Thank you Richard!

We loved the location of this property. Walking across the street to snorkel at Richardson was wonderful. We enjoyed the ocean breezes inside and also spent time outside on the deck with its great view of the ocean. The two cats were welcome (outside!). One night they received a treat of leftover Ono fish from the Hilo Bay Cafe. We now have cat friends for life!

A deep clean of the full place should be done. The inside of the kitchen cupboards were not clean. The screen door to the deck should be replaced as you had to fight to open & close it. Needs some TLC.

This was the perfect location for our stay. Richardson Ocean Beach Park was fabulous for turtles, snorkeling, swimming and scenic beauty. The view from the property is amazing.
