Spectacular 3 BD/ 3 BA Oceanview!

The kitchen was fully stocked with spices, cookware, dishes, stemware, etc. everything was very clean.The view from our balcony was superb.We enjoyed all the amenities of the resort.Our host communicated extremely well with us.

We were able to communicate with the owner directly who was very responsive. The location was perfect. It was a pick up spot for my son’s tour van of the Haleakala Crater. We were in walking distance of wonderful restaurants and bakeries. When the tsunami warning hit the staff directed us to the Kapalua Airport and we were one of the first to reach the airport. It is a spacious unit with tons of amenities and a great shower and bed.

Pros:Christine is very receptive, easy to contact. She was willing to let us check in early and leave 1 hour late, which was super helpful. The house has lots of supplies for boogie boarding. The place is clean. The fridge and washing machine worked well. There is ample parking and the beach is close by. Cons: There is no dining table. There are barstools. The AC is very very slow. It took more than 8 hours to cool down the first night. It was cooler outside than inside. If AC is important to you, this is not the place for you.

Great 2B/2Ba stay - it has an amazing balcony view of the ocean, and full amenities available. Christine had the whole process very smoothly laid out, and the house was completely ready when we arrived. All in all, a great experience and we would definitely stay again the next time we are here.

Penthouse H403 was perfect for us. The loft worked great for 2 teenage boys. There was enough room up there for two more. All the beds were very comfortable. The 3 split level air, it took us awhile for the three units to cool down the place. But after that first day they held the temperature. Everything you need Kitchen was great! Down the road is a small store where we bought some needs. Paper goods, some coffee and breakfast groceries. Perfect! Papakea Resort was so friendly. The pool area with grills and a pavilion was used everyday for our 13 family members staying at the resort. Yes, no beach! It did not stop some of our family to snorkel the area. (Be a strong swimmer) There were beaches near by. Thank you for sharing your place with us.As some may know, you can encounter small birds sneaking in the condo through open screens. Hahaha! Thank you for the closet full of beach goodies, chairs, umbrella, toys, snorkel gear and cooler. Some things didn’t work but most just needed a good cleaning and was usable. Excellent kitchen. Very well supplied with extras - spices, sunscreen, laundry detergent, beach towels, etc. Usually owners don't do that and it saved us a lot of money. Loved the melamine dishes. Beautiful view. Some small negatives - The A/C in the master bedroom smelled. The sink drain in the hall bath smelled when you turned on the water. After looking at details for ten days I became aware some things needed updating, the hall bath (the one that I used) everywhere around floor. Would prefer more plastic cups. But I'd stay there again. Good value.

Beautiful property, our family enjoyed the tennis courts and pool on sight. Location was excellent, close proximity to food, shopping and beaches. Unable to access ocean directly from property as it has a sea wall and rocky shoreline but many beautiful beaches to swim close by. Great for our adult children, group of 7 able to spread out in own beds after long days. As others have said, tight space for dining as a group but not a huge deal for us.

This is our third stay at Papakea and our second stay at a three bedroom three bath unit. We were in building H before and this unit was lovely. We preferred the layout of this one with the fridge on the outside of the U-Shape kitchen, is alleviated congestion and provided more space. Came with lots of gear for the beach for a party of 8. Huge kudos on very comfortable beds all around! We all slept like babies. Communication with the manager was great and the staff on site are wonderful. Papakea is a wonderful complex with amazing amenities and lots of cats!!!! Do not hesitate booking this unit for a large group!

Enormous and lots of things to do

Property did not have good indoor eating facility. We felt the property was overpriced for accommodation.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodations had everything we needed and loved the ocean view with my coffee every morning. The resort is within walking distance of so many things. Enjoyed everything about our stay. Thank you for an amazing week!!

Well stocked, easy access, great location!

Stayed for a week, great place well maintained and loaded with all you need for a great time. Only issues were more resort than unit. Hot tub and pool heater was broken for 2 days. Unit next door residents screaming at each other several nights waking us all up. Need to walk to the beach next door as there is no beach on this property.

I am so happy with our rental experience. We slept 10 in this unit, 4 adults and 6 children. The location is perfect, the resort had daily activities, our kids lived in the pool. We ate suppers as a group with 21 people in the cabana which provided tables and BBQs. The beach is not accessible off the resort, which was not a problem for us, but there is a sea wall with a 10ft drop down to the waves so if you have small kids you'll want to make sure they do not get close. Christine's unit had a closet full of supplies that were so valuable to us as out of towners, we did not arrive with our own lawn chairs, the closet had lawn chairs, a cooler, boogie boards, snorkel gear, water shoes, umbrellas. It exceeded my expectations. In suite laundry. Plenty of seating on the balcony. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Thank you Christine for everything, I appreciated that we were able to message you, our group cannot wait to come back.

Perfect for families with relatives or lots of children. Best “home” away from home!

Overall great experience, this is the second year we have stayed at this resort and we love it.the condo had everything you could need, but a kettle , so we bought one and now it has one.

We had a great time. Personally we loved the location, the view, everything that was offered such as the pool and jacuzzi. Having the beach within a 2-3 minute walk was a plus for us. All the beds were very comfortable and the location was perfect. We had everything we needed in less than a 10,min drive. Definitely recommend. The communication was amazing and very accomadating

Clean, great location, incredible view. Extra amenities; everything for the beach, playpen. Grocery store, food truck city, ABC store, restaurant/bar, gasoline, bakery.

We traveled to Maui with our daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. Papakea is a wonderful resort, very conveniently located. We had a loft condo with spectacular views and the girls were very excited with the pools and the beach next door! All in all, it was a perfect trip!

The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The property is lovely and having a view out to the Ocean was amazing. The beach chairs and towels were very helpful. The place stayed cool on the hot nights. The beds were very comfortable. I would come back and stay again. The location was close to everything but just far enough to enjoy the beauty of Maui without having tons of people around.

The views and grounds are wonderful. The places to sit and eat in the house are a bit limited. There were seven of us and we enjoyed our stay. There are sandier beaches within an easy walk.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Condo was clean with well stocked kitchen, beach gear, and linens. The two bedrooms plus the loft were great for our 3 family groups and the beds were comfortable. Communication with the owner was great as well. We would love to return in the future.

I do not like writing negative reviews, however future travelers should be aware of what they are paying for. The Good: The resort is very well maintained and beautiful. Staff are very accommodating. It’s great having 3 baths and the unit is stocked with plenty of beach towels, chairs and boogie boards. Mattresses are very comfy and the Rental Agent very prompt responding to an issue with a light switch. The Bad: The unit was "clean" but not very. Dusty blinds and somewhat greasy countertops were a turn off. Overall, the unit is in need of a refresh and felt tired. The Lanai has a condenser unit that runs ALL THE TIME and is very noisy. It makes it unpleasant to be out there. The oversized sectional is broken down and the size of it makes it almost impossible to use the stools at the counter. Non microwaveable dishes are disappointing . For the price, I’d look elsewhere. Would not stay there again

My family and I loved it here. The resort is so clean and the people are so friendly and kind. Just about everything you need is within walking distance. We would stay again if we got the chance to return. Maui is beautiful 😍

This unit was great very spacious had room for us and all of our kids. All the bedrooms and bathrooms had plenty of space. The owner was really good about setting up all the rooms, so everything in this unit function great and we had what we needed to have a great trip. We would definitely stay here again

Our family of seven stayed for about a week and the condo was perfect. Three bedrooms and three baths. I really enjoyed the fact that there were beach chairs and towels for us to use. Laundry as well right in the condo. Great location, warm pool, And just a lovely experience. Great communication with the owner as well.

This was our first trip to Maui and we really enjoyed our stay. The property is as listed, no surprises. It was nicely stocked. The response time of the manager was good. We did arrive quite late, the office was closed, but there was a security guard who gave us our keys and told us to check in in the morning. All went smoothly. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and it cooled the place nicely. We were on the top floor. The views both out the front door of the mountains was breathtaking and the views out the back deck were great as we could see the resort grounds (including pool) and ocean. We could actually watch the whales off our deck (bring binoculars for better look). The grounds are beautifully kept. The pool was a nice decent temperature. We also enjoyed just sitting on the ocean edge and watched the sea life. We used the Lanai area by the pool to sit out at night and play games. We also used the tennis court - just need to book your time with the front desk (for an hour), and those were nice facilities. We were able to walk across to some restaurants (there is a pizza restaurant that is wonderful), get shaved ice, there is a make your pancake house a block away, a BBQ place that was always busy so we never went. If you take a left out of the resort, there was a nice ABC store for souvenirs and then across the street there was a coffee shop and market that sells Vegan lunches (fairly decent). It is a fairly busy resort area and generally felt safe.

My Ohana really enjoyed our stay! From the ease of check-in process, cleanliness, location and all the amenities…everything was great!

The condo was roomy and an amazing view. We saw whales every day from the balcony. There were beach chairs in the room we took to the beach, beach towels, spices for cooking, comfy beds, and the 3 bathrooms were a huge plus! Beach bags, boogie boards, snorkle gear, and beach umbrellas were very enjoyable! Definitely 5 stars! Christine was very responsive and helpful through the process! Will definitely be back to this condo!

We were exceedingly pleased with our stay. The views from the balcony are hard to beat! Our kids loved the beautiful pool, we enjoyed the hot tub, and it was just a great place to stay. There is a great souvenir shop within walking distance from the location. The property manager was responsive and answered any questions I sent her. She was mindful of making our stay extra special and we really appreciated the care and extra support we were given. There was a hiccup on check-in, but it was my fault. I did not read the initial instructions well enough so make sure and look at those. You check into the front desk building which is to the right as you drive into the parking lot.

We absolutely loved our stay at Papakea over Christmas. Just like the reviews said, the view from the Lanai is stunning. I spent every morning and night out there. We even saw whales from the lanai. We ate many meals on the lanai. The condo fit our family great. 2 married couples, one infant and 2 young adults with mom and dad in the loft. The third bathroom is a lifesaver. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved having the washer and dryer in the condo. There were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, and boogie boards. The resort is so beautiful. We loved the pool, hot tub, and gazebo. We grilled and ate a couple of meals out there. These were my favorite days. We also loved the pickleball courts, the back entrance to the ABC store, and the great location to the grocery store and food truck park. The only negative is that there is not a great beach area attached to the property. The beach in front of Duke's is only a 10 minute walk. Relaxing on the grass in the lounge chairs at the waters edge on the property was one of my favorite things. I loved that the property didn't feel as crowded as some that we passed on the beach. Maui is wonderful. We had the best time.
