Brand New Oceanfront 2 Bedroom / 2 Bath Condo

We loved our stay here! Great view! The property was clean and accommodating. The host was very responsive and kind. This unit was perfect to watch the beautiful whales!

Wonderful stay! Smooth booking and check in. Condo was clean, stocked with essentials and very comfortable for our family of five. The best part was definitely the ocean front view. Have already recommended this condo to our friends and would love to return next year.

The views were breathtaking and we loved to location. The reasons why this place does not get a 5 star starts with the check in process. Before our stay, I received an email from our host. He told me check in was at 3pm. Upon arrival to the resorts, frobt desk told us that check in was at 4pm. Ok, fine we'll just wait another hour, no big deal. At 4pm we headed to our room, only to find that the place has not been cleaned properly. One of the bedrooms bed was covered with wet towels, the dryer was full with beach towels, the kitchen had grease stains and the bathroom's baseboards were very dusty. The other issues that we had was the duplex stairs. They are super steep amd some of the boards were wiggly. I guess if it was just adults I wouldn't care, but with kids around we had to be extra careful. topproperly.

The grounds and view are outstanding! Our condo not so much ! If you are a clean freak don’t stay! Some small upgrades would be wonderful! Tear out carpet , new beds and linen! The cockroaches and bugs where disgusting, I understand where we where at would have a few , but this was a lot, luckily someone left spray!

Beautiful resort. The view from the balcony was the highlight of the condo. Had our coffee every morning watching the whales in the distance. Sunsets we saw a rainbow everyday and watched the turtles swim by. Location was perfect. Walking distance to food trucks and ABC store/ deli mini market. Supermarket is a block down the street . The resort is beautifully maintained, pool is nice and there are lounge chairs along the edge of beach. Pickleball courts , shuffle board, toss game and other games to play while out enjoying the premises. Cooked most of our meals, bbq on premises. Kitchen has pretty much everything you need to cook. We bought kpods for coffee only to find out when we arrived the coffee machine uses ground coffee. . Which gave us the opportunity to try Hawaiian ground coffee. Super good coffee but very expensive. Need to bring cleaning supplies to clean kitchen. There are roaches in kitchen and condo, but it’s a humid environment and to be expected. They were at a minimum and owners do try to control. Temps were in 74-78 degree range and we never turned on the air. Nice air flow with windows and slider open. I gave 4 star only because the condo does need upgrade. Carpets need to be replaced , one bathroom shower has mold and furniture needs upgrade. There were plenty of beach towels avail. Had a washer/dryer (didnt use) have to buy your own laundry soap. Beds were very comfortable. Our stay was very enjoyable and we would return again.

This condo is in a wonderful resort. Well cared for property, clean pool, and great location to explore the area from. Small issues like cleanliness have been addressed in other posts but our major concern was with property management. Absolutely 0 communication from the Host; no check-in/check-out instructions, nothing. Worse, upon leaving, we accidentally left hundreds of dollars of coats in the closet and were unable to reach ANYONE responsible for weeks. The resort staff is unable to help so we involved the Property Management company, Hawaii Life, to follow up and they could not reach the host either. After finally responding, they said our property is "gone" with no further explanation. Shame.

Every vent from bathrooms to windows were caked with dust/dirt/grime. When first entering it seemed fine. Once opening things up the lack of upkeep was very evident. I've taken pictures of all this but don't know where I can send them.

Multiple black ants traps were left on the kitchen counter making the kitchen unsafe for food due to the chemicals. Cockroaches were also present. We have stayed at Papakea for the past 15 years and have never encountered bugs in the units we have rented. Carpets in the bedrooms need to be replaced or cleaned...they were stained and filthy. The only thing good about this condo was the view, it was amazing!

We experienced a number of issues most resolved graciously by Property Manager. Property needs some attention and investment. This is a lovely location, close to everything you need.

The place worked out well, and was clean. We loved the balcony that looked out towards the ocean. Harry, was helpful when we had questions.

Oceanfront view was spectacular. Watched whales morning and night from our lanai. Beautiful. Great location - close to food truck park where we could support the local Maui vendors. Unit does need some upgrading in areas of carpet, trim falling from wall, screen door doesn't close/latch, trim peeling away from drawers/cabinets and missing wall panel in bedroom laying against mirror on floor.

Upon arrival though, we were told the place was clean, but the kitchen floors were dirty and some of the walls were too. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time there.

I absolutely hate leaving a bad review but I have to be honest for future travellers. This is NOT a brand new condo. Nothing about it is new. Not even the carpets in the bedrooms as mentioned in the description. The carpets were horribly dirty. We wanted to vacuum them, but the vacuum stored in the closet was broken. Vacuuming wouldn’t even have helped much. They need to be washed or torn out and replaced. The sheets in the master bedroom were torn and stained. In the kitchen the dishwasher had a broken trim. It has been previously taped but that did not hold. The blender lid was broken and not in good shape. The fans had so much dust on them. The light switches and door frames were dirty from previous people touching them. The furniture in the living room is not new. The desc. Indicates two recliners but there is only one and the handle is missing to recline. The lanai furniture is not new either. But it was fine to use. The view was beautiful but the cost we paid for a dirty place was not worth it. We didn’t want to put anything on the floor. I did talk to the owner and he offered the cleaner to come but too much had to be done to make it right and it seemed pointless at that point. The cleaning fee is way too high for what they do. It appears that no money is being put back into the place. Location is nice, resort is nice, but this place needs some upkeeping and a deep clean. This is the first time I’ve had to leave a bad review. This place does have a lot of potential.
