Notice: Beginning August 10 through September 30, 2026 (subject to change), guests may experience construction noise, heavy equipment activity, and intermittent canal bridge closures due to the resort's Phase 1 Seawall Repair Project. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some ocean-side rock restoration occurring as early as 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM depending on tide conditions.

One of Maui's popular vacation spots, Papakea is a peaceful Hawaiian Style low rise resort situated on 13 acres right on the ocean just a short walk to north Kaanapali Beach. The lushly landscaped grounds are immaculately maintained and adorned with red ginger and red palms. At dusk, every evening, the magical twinkling tiki lights are lit and reflect on the Koi ponds through-out the property. Papakea's location is as good as it gets! Within minutes, an easy walk to Duke's, shopping center, Farmers Market, coffee shops, sandy beaches, snorkeling and surfing.
Canal Repair Project Notice:
Papakea Resort will undergo a canal repair project from December 17, 2025 through mid-September 2026. Work will take place Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Guests may experience significant construction noise during these hours. Equipment and materials will be staged along the canal, resulting in limited parking in some areas.
Holiday work is not expected.
We appreciate your understanding as the resort completes this necessary improvement project.

Super cute condo with beautiful view!
The condo was clean. The ocean view was amazing. Great location
The view is absolutely amazing! We sat on the deck and watched the whale spouts go past. The beds are great if you love a very firm mattress. The kitchen was perfect for making meals to eat on the deck. It was very convenient to have the washer and dryer in the unit.
Beds up stairs were hard other than that everything was good

Perfect sunset balcony! Clean spacious condo. The property is very very well taken of! Loved our vacation!
AC was misleading, none in the second bedroom at all and a governor controlled it. The unit on the lanai caused the area to get so hot in the afternoon and evening we could not sit out nor eat there. We could use it in the mornings when the outdoor temp was the coolest. No hot water in the master bath shower. Three of us used it at different times during the day and all had warm showers only. No oven except the microwave/oven combo above the cook top stove. it took double the time to bake puff pastry, so we had to completely replan our meals. No recycle bin in condo, tiny kitchen trash can for a condo to accommodate a larger family or group.Broom was appreciated to sweep any sand tracked it, but no dust pan makes to tough to use.The master bash shower had built up dirt on the outside of the shower doors which were completely covered in mineral deposits.The master bedroom had an issue where something had left residue on the tile, perhaps a piece of furniture. The lanai was way too small for the size of table on it.I do have pics of the shower and floor.The resort is a well maintained beautiful property that we may try one more time, the staff was very helpful and engaging.
My family of five adults truly had the best week of our life! The communication and response was excellent. Very convenient to have grocery store across the property and food trucks available! I highly recommend and look forward to returning!
We came to Maui to celebrate with our family of 30 people. We stayed in 9 different units. It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy our family!! So many wonderful memories. We will definitely stay there again!
This property worked well for us as a family of 5 with three teens. It is our first time staying here as we have stayed at other close properties in Honokwai in the past. Enjoyed the stay here as it was a quiet and relaxing location. You can still go and eat and find amenities at the hotel next door. The pool was great and our ocean view was lovely.
Wonderful place to stay in Maui. Gorgeous views from a great place. The unit had everything that we needed from the kitchen, to washer and dryer. Would definitely stay here again in Maui.

This unit is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and serving. The view is simply amazing!
Clean, extremely well supplied, and enough room for the six of us!
The property was beautiful and well maintained. I would recommend some new pillows but I would stay there again without them. There was plenty of cookware in addition to the well maintained Weber grills by the pool.
