This home features panoramic ocean, two outer-island views (Lanai and Molokai), year round sunsets, and the famed “Black Rock. ” This is a corner ground-floor property sitting on an elevated plateau so that you are sure to enjoy your front row seats to the locals diving off Black Rock, tiki torch lighting, the romantic fire-pit, and Maui’s favorite spectator sport- Humpback whale watching!

Short walking distance to pupus, mai tais, and shopping at Whaler’s Village.
Located in the heart of Ka’anapali sitting directly on the golden shores of Ka’anapali Beach; bordered by the famed beach walk and Whaler’s Village to the south. Kahua Kai is all about having fun and sharing timeless memories where everyone comes to play on the the World’s Best Island of Maui.
Massive glass sliding doors throughout provide excellent natural light, soothing tradewind breezes, and a seamless transition to the huge, shaded, grassy backyard that is directly out front of this residence. The yard is perfect for lounging or playing bocce with the family (lawn games included).
Convenient access to the resort’s parking, the pool, barbecues and more is less than 100 steps from the beach without the hassle of taking an elevator. The wrap-around covered lanai is huge at 508 sq.ft. and the residence itself is incredibly spacious at 1,444 sq.ft.
The Whaler lobby has recently undergone a major facelift giving it a fresh look of chic Hawaiian elegance. All guests are sure to enjoy this comfortable space with views of the courtyard, koi ponds, water features, ocean views, and a beautiful variety of tropical teas to keep you refreshed.

Condo 102 is a beautiful condo which looks out directly on the ocean and the amazing beach! It is the perfect condo for a family with small children and senior citizens, which our party had both. Very well stocked with anything you could possibly need. If you ever rent this condo you definitely won’t be disappointed. The host was very good with staying in touch with us and was available anytime we needed anything. We look forward to returning again in the future!
Great place and location
There isn't a better condo on Kanapali Beach. We were traveling with my 88-year-old mom, who cant walk long distances. The location and access to the beach, pool, and BBQ area were exactly what we needed; it was like having all that in our backyard. Even though it is close to the beach walk, it feels private and quiet. I loved hearing the waves at night, and besides the bathrooms, you have a beautiful view of the ocean or Black Rock from every angle in every room. I was pleasantly surprised to find it stocked with basic spices and oils, and random things that are useful and I didn't need to purchase. I really can't say enough about how much we loved it. It was clean and the beds were comfortable, they provided extra towels and beach towels. Another surprise was finding a closet full of beach gear, including three chairs, a boogie board, noodles, kid toys, and coolers. We didn't need it, but they had cribs, strollers, and little beach chairs for the kids. We will be back. (and I can't wait to come back and use the kids' stuff when the grandbabies finally arrive!) Its perfect for famlies. Sliding glass doors up to a huge grass area for them to get their energy out!
50 percent at pool or beach
We’ve stayed at The Whaler many times and absolutely love the property, but unfortunately, this unit was a huge disappointment. We felt misled and ignored throughout our stay.First and foremost, we were not informed of the massive construction project directly in front of the unit that obstructed the ocean view we were promised. This wasn’t a minor oversight—the construction was significant enough to have been covered in national news, yet the owners claimed they were unaware. It felt dishonest, especially given the scale and publicity of the work.Adding to the disruption, there was constant loud construction noise from the unit directly above us. It made it nearly impossible for our toddler to nap and was incredibly frustrating to deal with throughout the day.We reached out to the owners multiple times with our concerns, hoping for understanding or some form of compensation. Instead, we were met with dismissive responses and told there was “nothing they could do.” At no point did they offer any kind of solution or accountability.To make matters worse, we paid for a midweek cleaning we told would be a complete clean and only the towels were changed and the beds were made—no cleaning was done on the floors or countertops, which is unacceptable at this price point.This experience was incredibly disappointing. While we will definitely return to The Whaler, we strongly advise staying in a different unit—preferably one managed by owners who are honest and responsive.

Amazing oceanfront, ground level condo. Spacious, clean and full of many conveniences. We were very comfortable here. We will book this property again. The only negative was the big sofa in the living room is tired and smelly. We stayed here 7 years ago when the couch was newer. It has gotten a lot of use since then and such a wonderful unit needs a clean couch.
This place was everything we had hoped for! Well stocked and an incredible location! We would definitely stay again.

Being on ground level with access to beach front and pool was very convenient the family was able to spend so much more time enjoying the beach with out having to make numerous trips lugging stuff around. The best surprise was having the folding beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels provided was a big plus. We would usually rent these items form the Snorkel Store for the week. the best thing we enjoyed was being able to sit on the patio looking right out at the ocean. The inside of the unit was great as it was clean and very accommodating for a family of 4. Had no issues with anything during our stay and the rental team did a great job of staying in contact about necessary information and checking to see if everything was good.

Ground floor, west end of Tower 1, we saw whales everyday from our lanai. Walking distance to world class restaurants, snorkel trip pick up at the beach in front of the Whaler. Golf 4 minutes away. The ease of using the barbecues for lunch and dinners, accessing the beach with gear and not having to use the elevators is a luxury in itself. I would recommend this unit to anyone that needs to sleep 6 very comfortably and easily 8 with the pull out queen couch. Views from this unit are amazing even with it being in the ground floor. We will hopefully get the opportunity to rent this unit again.
