This Honua Kai crown jewel boasts a stunning 5th-floor oceanfront location with sweeping ocean views from Molokai to Lanai.
The interior of this residence blends the resplendent charm of old Hawaii with the sophistication of modern master craftsmanship and design. An abundance of rich Hawaiian Koa wood enhances the experience. Step outside onto the massive 600 sq ft oceanfront lanai and enjoy the views while you prepare a sunset dinner on the built-in BBQ grill.
This residence accommodates up to nine guests with two sumptuous king-size beds in each primary bedroom and a comfortable queen-size and twin-size bed in the guest bedroom. For additional sleeping capacity, the sectional sofa sleeper in the living room can be converted into a second queen-size bed. The spacious open floor plan provides the perfect tropical retreat for families and friends to gather and reconnect.
Your party will have plenty of room to spread out in the 2260 sq ft of interior living space. Hokulani 551 is within a stone's throw of the sand and but a short stroll from Honua Kai's many pools and amenities. Bathe in the warm Maui sun from the privacy of your own lanai because the spacious outdoor living area offers plenty of unobstructed tropical sunshine.
Each bedroom has an accompanying luxury bath for each party's privacy. The bathrooms are lavishly adorned with granite counters, glass, and marble walk-in showers. Each primary bath features a separate soaking tub, and the first primary bath offers a unique addition - an elegant, free-standing vessel-style soaking tub, exclusive to the most elite Honua Kai residences.
We encourage you to express your culinary creativity in the gourmet chef's kitchen. The space is fully equipped with stainless steel Viking appliances, including dual ovens and a built-in wine fridge. There is plenty of space on the ample granite countertops, and we have provided all the cookware and utensils for you to prepare the perfect meal or refreshment... just bring the ingredients. Enjoy your meals on the spacious oceanview lanai or dine indoors in the climate-controlled air conditioning.
Take pleasure in spending your days at the resort’s three-acre aquatic playground. With four separate swimming pools, a waterslide, waterfalls, fountains, and four hot tubs, there will be no shortage of options for you and your loved ones to enjoy.
When it is time for a bite to eat, Honua Kai is home to the popular Duke’s Beach House, which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails. Duke’s specializes in serving up Hawaiian-inspired cuisine using locally sourced ingredients and freshly caught seafood. Should you wish to enjoy a refreshment by the water, poolside service is available. For coffee, sandwiches, and other grab-and-go items, including beach gear and souvenirs, visit the Whalers General Store conveniently located in the Konea Tower lobby.
A state-of-the-art fitness center is located in the Konea Tower, perfect for guests looking to maintain their workout routine during their stay.
Should you feel like pampering yourself with a refreshing massage or treatment, head to the Mana Ola Spa. This sanctuary within the resort weaves Hawaiian-inspired themes and ingredients into its wide array of signature treatments. We have stayed at the Honua Kai resort multiple times since the early 2000s and always have a wonderful time. We were very impressed with the check in/out process and whenever we reached out to the host for a request (trash bags, fan, etc) we were taken care of right away. A few things to note that take this property from 5 to 4 stars: The biggest inconvenience for our group is that there are not two queen beds in the 3rd room, but a full and twin. It worked for our party, but there's no way you can fit two couples in that room as the capacity suggests. The unit is also in the hustle of the resort, so you hear everything, which was not an issue for us outside of having to hear Duke's squeaky exhaust belt all day when we were out on the lanai. We had a little one who took multiple naps a day so we were out there a lot. We understand that that's out of the host's control, but think it's still worth mentioning. Overall, we were happy with the unit and look forward to visiting Honua Kai in the future.
Enjoyed the condo very much. It is beautiful, large and was very clean. We would love to stay there again.Our only issue was that the elevator closest to the unit from the parking garage was out of service for our entire visit.
This property is perfect for all of your friends and family. We had twenty-three people at one time in many different units, but this one was used for our main family gatherings. The BBQ on the deck was a great way to save money and meet all together. The views, the pools, the restaurant, all very good and so much fun!! We will return if we can. Great resort for all of us!!

We have stayed at the property number of times. This is the first time we have had bug problems. Cockroaches and other bugs. Had to call for exterminator three times before the problem was taken care of . That left us three days pretty much big free, not good!
Great place to stay! Home away from home for us. It was very comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the ocean views, was able to watch the whales from the deck, and to see the amazing sunsets. A very convenient and accommodating place to stay even with a larger group.

We feel so lucky to have found this condo for our recent vacation. The best of the best, even for those with high standards. It does not get better than this one! Amazing views and location on a great property. Condo itself well appointed and comfortable. Only note is with regard to the check in process - they will not let you check in even one minute before 4 pm, even if the unit is clean and ready. That was a bit of a bummer as we would have loved to get settled after a long day of travel.
We absolutely loved our stay at this unit! It has the most amazing view. The beds are comfortable and it’s huge with plenty of room for everyone. There isn’t a better location. The wrap around lanai is incredible. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want or need. Both indoor and outdoor dining. The grill on the porch was so convenient and amazing. A few minor things I would suggest. When you are renting a unit at this price point, you don’t expect to see walls covered in scratches and scuffs… or for the carpet to be filthy and stained. The walls were a bit dirty as well. There was a new tv stacked in front of an old Tv in one of the bedrooms, which was odd and we were never able to figure it out and use it. The outdoor furniture shouldn’t be completely falling apart. These were minor issues, but when you’re paying that much per night you really should have these items in better condition . We have stayed at many units at Honua Kai and this by far has the best view and is amazing. It just needs some small maintenance type things. I would also suggest leaving a vacuum for longer stays (I assume most who use this large unit have children) and a vacuum would’ve been helpful.
