Property Overview
High in the podocarpus trees, the Treehouse sits, with a sweeping view of the ocean, and the beautiful sound of birdsong. Sip coffee on the lanai as you watch the sunrise over the ocean. Fall asleep gazing up at the unobscured starry night sky through the carefully positioned skylights. Hulili Tropical Fruit Farm is a beautiful Hawaiian farm boasting orchards of lychee and longan, as well as numerous other tropical fruits.
Hulili Farm's bright, airy and brand new Treehouse perfectly combines childhood dreams with luxury and comfort. Cozy up in your Sleep number bed, looking up at the trees and stars. Make meals in your fully equipped kitchen and enjoy dining on the open lanai. Coffee as you watch the sun rise over the ocean is a must. Imagine washing off the day in the privacy of your carefully situated outdoor shower. This hot shower is secluded and private, while also allowing you to experience the jungle view.
This Treehouse is completely new and has been created for those seeking a unique Big Island experience. Come and relax up in the trees of Hulili Farm.
A washer and dryer are available for your use. All supplies included.
Over 21s only.
You'll have your own parking space, and the entire treehouse is for your use. Under the treehouse is the laundry room, and the lower deck is for your enjoyment too.
Our Treehouse is an experience not to be missed, however it is not the ideal accommodation for everyone. Upon arrival you will need to carry your luggage up the entryway stairs. The indoor staircase and bathroom are narrow spaces and the design is more of a tiny home vibe. It is a treehouse! The outdoor shower is a fabulous experience and robes are provided for your convenience. There is no indoor shower or bath tub. For some this is the adventure they seek on their vacation, if not we recommend one of our other cottages that isn't in the trees.

Amazing
This picture-perfect treehouse is an ideal base for exploring the Big Island. Cozy, cleverly designed, and set on gorgeous farmland. You’ll never want to leave!
What a wonderful experience! My wife and I are the current longest reigning residents (12 days). The treehouse was so warm and comfortable, you could tell at every glance the amount of thought that went into building this treehouse. Madeline and Todd were wonderful hosts! The sound of the birds at night was something we would go for again. We had a visit from a couple of beautiful geckos on our last day. We cannot say enough what a great place tucked into the woods. Privacy was paramount for us and this place had it all. Thanks again! We plan to be back. We really enjoyed franky the duck and the hens
Such a fun spot! It has everything you need and all the comforts of home. The owners obviously put their hearts and souls into this treehouse and you can feel it. Very clean! Well appointed. Comfy beds. Yes, the back lanai bed is as wonderful as it looks!
We had a wonderful stay; a great host and very welcoming. The scenery is breathtaking and serine, perfectly nestled within the trees. The front porch was our favorite spot for morning coffee and a good book. You’re a short distance away from downtown Hilo, hiking trails, waterfalls and a clear night sky. Absolutely can’t wait to plan a return visit! Thank you, Madeleine and Todd!
The Treehouse was perfect in every way! We particularly loved the sleeping options (in the loft and outdoors on the hanging bed), the comfortable mattresses, linens and pillows, the outdoor shower, rocking chairs on the lanai and perfectly appointed kitchen. The grounds were beautiful and our hosts so friendly!
We’ve stayed at Hulili before but this was our first time in the treehouse. We really enjoyed it! The property is wonderful. The treehouse is definitely a unique layout but it’s very well done. The structure itself is like a tall (vertical/stacked) cabin nestled in the trees. Lots of windows which we left open to let in the breeze; we found the temperature and airflow quite comfortable, especially at night. Note that there is a narrow/twisting set of internal stairs from the second level (bathroom/kitchenette and sitting area) to the third level (bedroom-loft). The hosts request that you leave your luggage downstairs and only take up the stairs what you need. My wife and I had no trouble navigating them with a little care; it reminded me a lot of time we've spent aboard sailboats. That said the bedroom is spacious enough and has plenty of headroom. Also note that the bathroom has a toilet and small sink; good for washing hands and brushing teeth but for larger jobs like washing your face, we just used the adjacent kitchen sink. The only shower is out-doors on the second level deck, but it's really well arranged... we loved the outdoor shower! There's a day-bed on the first level which we did not use, but it would be a nice retreat during the day in the warmer times of the year especially. As with previous visits... the hosts Madeleine and Todd are super easy to work with. Thanks again!
