Enjoyed our stay at the Hakalau Private Studio. Clean and comfortable.
Great place in a great location.
Everything all right for a one-night stop at Hilo area. Thank you!
Wonderful property!! Easy to get to. Easy to get in. Beautiful detailed with elegance and charm. Super clean and new. A hidden Gem in a beautiful neighborhood.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the location was beautiful. One of the nicest places we have stayed, very private with beautiful night time sounds. It felt very magical.
The studio was perfect for the two of us for a few nights on our 2-week vacation and the small refrigerator came in handy! We also appreciated the dishware and paper towels! The A/C was fantastic too!! The studio was tastefully decorated, and we appreciated little things like shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the shower and coffee/tea available to use. This was wonderful after flying for 10 hours and then driving for 2 hours to reach Hilo!! With such a short stay, it was great that we didn’t need to fully unpack!!We specifically booked this studio to take advantage of areas north of Hilo. We then booked another studio VRBO south of Hilo, but that did not turn out so great. Really made me appreciate how great this studio stay was for our brief stay on that side of the island (we specifically excluded other rentals that did not have A/C)!! Although we didn’t need to connect with the host during our stay, prior to this, they were very responsive. If we are in the area again for a short stay, we’d definitely book again.
While only here one night in our slow treck around the island, we easily could have stayed longer! Great neighborhood, comfy bed, everything we needed!
Clean studio in a nice neighborhood. Perfect for our needs. Check in was easy and I was sent the code before arrival.
The room was clean and very cute. The host was very responsive and helpful and made me feel welcome. This place was better than I expected and featured a beautiful bathroom and garden area that was like a little sanctuary. Highly recommend.
We didn’t spend too much time in the unit—mostly used it as a home base and place to sleep, but it was excellent for our purpose. Clean and well stocked, and the directions/instructions were clear. Nice area, lots of hiking and things to see nearby (short drives). The beach is harder to get to than a quick glance at the map might indicate, but it’s a nice walk. Check out Mr Ed’s Bakery
Nice spot. Wonderfully renovated bathroom. Just what we needed!
Nice quaint location located short drive away from Hilo. Perfect for 2
Perfect location for hikes, gardens and access to private beach
Very pleasant hostess. Studio somewhat small though has outdoor table. A good location for exploring north and south.
Everything was great! No complaints
Amazing neighborhood. Love the walk to Hakalau Beach!
Was a perfect spot for my quick overnight between work travels. Lovely spot. Clean and easy.
Perfect little studio with a huge and really nice/new rain shower for the space. Even has pots and pans and a hot plate.
Instructions were great, very clean, and perfect size for two of us!
Every thing was perfekt. When we arrived Carla was very friendly. The little condo is perfect for exploring the east coast of Big Island. We had a beautiful stay.
Everything was very modern and clean. It would be nice if there was a kitchen sink or basin in which to wash our dishes. A simple coffee machine would work better than a Keurig machine as there was only one pod per day and we enjoy a few cups of coffee throughout the day. A few extra utensils would also be handy as we like to cook our meals.
Very clean and quiet. The room is small but we just needed to sleep somewhere safe and clean. It was perfect for us. Thanks!
Wonderful location away from the main towns but easily accessible to main highways that get to everywhere. Clean, quiet. Small so basically for either one person or a couple who likes to be close. It was just what we needed. A quiet place to go to after an active day of exploring the island. Owner very responsive to questions.
This Vrbo is perfect. The owners are super friendly and responsive to any questions you may have. They went above and beyond! We were on the island for a week and this is the perfect place to come home to and rest.
There is no Oceanview from unit, it is a room on the back of a garage with a garden view. The amenities are overstated. No kitchen, just a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker. Toaster. Only sink for food prep is the bathroom sink. Owner states hot plate and skillet available but there is no space to cook. Bed is a double shoved against a wall, meaning one person has to crawl over the other to get in and out. Had to put our luggage in the bathroom as no room in bedroom for luggage. No AC, and visiting in Dec, with windows open and 3 fans running, room was overly warm and stuffy. Much too small for our 6' bodies, perhaps okay for hobbits
Small but perfect for one night. Quiet, safe surroundings.
Enjoyed a one night. Perfect place to rest for the night
Liked the place, quiet neighborhood, 15 minutes driving from Hilo downtown, definitely will stay again and recommend it to anyone.
Sitting outside and dining by candlelight (candles kindly provided) was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, the water heater was kaput and only cold showers were possible! The host had the plumbing fixed after we left and thankfully refunded part of the rental fee. Equally problematic was the TINY space inside this unit. Best to leave your luggage in your car because there is hardly room for 2 people plus (even small) roller bags. Last, any cups, glasses, or dishes (provided) you use must be washed in bathroom sink. There is no kitchen, just a small side desk with coffee maker, microwave, etc. Having said this, if you're on your own, don't have much, if any, luggage, and only want a clean bed and a quick breakfast, this is an excellent, clean, place to stay.
