Ocean & Maunakea View Guesthouse on a Private 5-Acre Property

Our stay was amazing! The property was very very clean and decorated nicely. The parking and accessibility were great. The view is just amazing, the goats nearby were so cute! The owners were friendly, kind and the information book inside the home was very well put together and resourceful. I highly recommend this property for your stay while visiting Hilo.

Wonderful 2 bedroom apartment just a few minutes drive from Hilo town center. This is set in a lovely location with lots of space and lovely surroundings including a view of the ocean. Raul was very responsive whenever we needed anything. We arrived early and we were very appreciative of the fact that we were able and welcomed to check in early. The dining table on the covered patio was very nice to have and their neighbors have goats that we enjoyed seeing munching on the landscape. The trade winds were a welcome addition to the indoor fans on the warmer days. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need to cook a meal for a family. We liked the fact that we could close off the bedrooms from the main living area at nighttime. Tons of closet space and drawer space, even for heavy packers! Washer and dryer a huge plus too. The family dog Bella, is sooooo adorable. I wudve packed her in my suitcase if I could......lol. Thanks for a great stay.

The best experience with a rental property ever. The location was absolutely amazing and the home was immaculate - very private yet close enough to everything we needed and wanted to do. Raul and his family were really great - our kids enjoyed playing with theirs and loved the being able to feed and play with and feed the dog, goats and chickens. We will 100% come back and use this property on our next trip back!

Very big house with a very nice vidw

I am a local so what I needed was a place to stay while my house was being termite tented. It covered that just fine. It rained all the time I was there but I had lived in Akolea Plantation at one time so knew what to expect. I liked the remote area.

Everything about this property was absolutely amazing! I felt like I moved into an actual home just because I was able to wash and dry my clothes with accessible machines when I need to; WITH DETERGENT PROVIDED! I enjoyed that so much. I can’t wait to book this place again for future trips back to Hilo!

This was a good enough property. Not particularly well stocked in anything, but the price was reasonable and it was close to town.

10 minutes above Hilo proper with lots of food and shopping choices. Plus a cool view overlooking the city and the ocean!

Nice view of Hilo Bay. Very clean. Great value!

This house is a good home base for exploring the Hilo area. The kitchen is unusually well set up for cooking, with a standard range, lots of dishes, and even food storage containers. The little back deck has a table for six and a nice view of Hilo and the ocean. The place is very clean and the decor is modern and spare, mostly gray and white. Each room has a big screen, but there's no reading light in the smaller bedroom. The hosts' home is about 30 feet away, but they don't interact much, so this is a good place to stay if you prefer to be on your own in a two-bedroom house with a standard kitchen.

Comfortable and clean. The king bed was very comfortable. The owners were friendly and accommodating, bringing us anything that we needed.

We loved staying here. The view from the deck was amazing, and the house was lovely, clean and spacious. The property is beautiful and we had a very relaxing time here even though it didnt stop raining. The location was great and we were able to explore many of Hilo's attractions. I highly reccommend this property for families and couples who really want to experience the island vibe.

Very comfortable accommodations. The quiet serene setting made it so easy to sleep well. We had everything we needed, even a Christmas tree!! That was a wonderful surprise!!! Highly recommend!

We loved staying at Ocean View Ranch. Far enough from Hilo to be quiet and relaxing, close enough for shopping and activities. Everything we needed was within a 15 min drive. Our favorite part was having breakfast on the lanai--cool ocean breezes, fantastic view, and goats to keep us company.

Great condo with two small flows in the kitchen - missing paper towels and the fridge requiring de-frosting.

We had a wonderful stay here! The ocean and mountain views were phenomenal, and we were very close to a lot of activities. The space was very clean and organized. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen as well!

This is a beautiful, spacious country side property. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a complete spice rack, olive oil, some coffee, sweetener packets and creamer. Liked the 2 queen beds (one sofa bed) and a king. Most places here have full instead of queen. Bath was well stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Shower floor was non-slip. Hair dryer provided. Our favorite thing was the free petting zoo. Many goats, sheep, ducks, dogs and a cat. They love people and will come up to the fence to greet you upon arrival. These guys are don't smell and they are not noisy. Something else was noisy on the first night. Every 3 seconds, ko-key, ko-key, ko-key! It was loud and seemed to be right outside our bedroom window. We asked the owners, who live next door about it. Raul and Stephanie are so wonderful and kind. Gave us earplugs and said it was a frog. The following nights, the frog could barely be heard far away. This home is very close to attractions like the Boiling Pots and Kaumana Caves. Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls are nearby. Kilauea is about an hour away. We had the live cam on You Tube running all night on the big TV, waiting for episode 33 of the Kilauea eruption. As soon as it blew, we got in the car at 3:30 am. and drove to Volcano National Park. The drive took less than an hour. For us, witnessing the eruption was a once in a lifetime experience. High recommend this property!

We had an amazing stay at this gorgeous ranch house. My partner and I stayed for the weekend and had family come over for a barbecue. It fit us all comfortably and we all enjoyed the beautiful view and animals roaming around. 5 stars all around.

Perfect for our needs

Fantastic hideaway, very clear instructions and great communication. ADU attached to a garage, great layout of the home and very comfortable beds! Love the farm animals and the property looks out over all of Hilo to the Ocean! Close to Volcano National Park!

Stayed for a few days. House and property was nice. Enjoyed seeing the goats outside our window. Weather was nice and cool except for the last day. Wish there was AC for the warm humid night. No paved driveway.

Despite our short stay, we were delighted with the coziness and peaceful surroundings. We especially enjoyed the outdoor deck. The host was quick to respond, check-in/out was an easy. We were thankful for the guide provided in the home, one of the best we’ve seen thus far. Would recommend buying groceries ahead of time if your goal is to relax and enjoy a ‘home away from home’ staycation.

This cute guest house was very clean. The home was well-stocked. The views are very nice. The home is up the hill from Hilo, but the drive down to town is easy. We would definitely stay here again the next time we travel to the Big Island.

This is a clean, spacious property with a great view and attractive furnishings. Upon arrival we noticed a minor concern and Rauel immediately came and fixed it. Otherwise we had no issues and just enjoyed being in such a comfortable place. The trip to downtown Hilo is easy; the owners' recommendations that we followed were spot on. We would not hesitate to come again or recommend a stay to others.

Clean, comfortable, well appointed and great views. My grandkids loved the goats and chicken. It’s a ways into town but cooler up on the hill. I would definitely stay here again

Our family of four stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed the place. The house is quite spacious with two bedrooms and a large kitchen area. It also has a nice view from the porch, which can be great in the evenings. (Watch out for the aggressive rooster that wants to be fed every time you have something in the porch).The place is close to Volcanoes National Park, Hilo Bay, Rainbow Falls and the Japanese gardens. We brought some groceries and cooked and ate at the place and had a good time.I will strongly recommend this place.

Pure aloha radiates throughout the owners and park like acres., Comfort and location very well equipped.

What a perfect place to stay for our Ohana vacation! The hosts were so welcoming and kind. The house was clean and more than enough kitchen utensils. Even had a rice cooker which was so convenient. Definitely the best place to stay when visiting Hilo, Hawai’i!

This home was perfect in every way for our trip. Comfortable, accommodating, picturesque, and we loved the friendly animals.

We loved this beautiful area and it was close to many of the hikes and places we wanted to visit. House was very clean and exactly as listed and host was very easy to communicate with.

My family of 3 very much enjoyed the peace and quiet, backyard deck (with amazing view) for eating meals, plenty of space, comfortable beds and clean linens, as well as the beach towels to make our visit effortless-- just what you want on vacation. The instructions were very clear for what to look for when at the home/parking and entering. The host/hostess understand what travelers are hoping for when on vacation-- Very relaxing, comfortable, quiet and peaceful. Location is up the hill from Hilo and removed from the city yet very close to several outdoor attractions, which is exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend--5 stars!!

We loved this house! The hosts were great. It was very clean, nice sheets & towels, very modern. Great view of ocean from the deck also. We booked our stay here for the first 3 days of our vacation. We needed more rooms at the end of the week when the rest of the family was arriving so we had to move to a larger 5 bedroom house thats was horrible to say the least. We quickly called this host back and told him we wanted to come back if he still had availability and thank God he did, so we went back for the remainder of our trip and had an amazing stay. . We will be coming back for sure!

So clean! We left a different VRBO early because it was so dirty and this one was the perfect one to come too! We had five people staying, and it was a great amount of space. So clean, the owner was so kind, great location, we want to stay here again!

The home was perfect--clean, spacious, well-stocked. The views were AMAZING! Sat on the deck every morning to watch the sun rise over the ocean. Beautiful trees and flowers, cute baby goats and geese next door, so relaxing! I had also heard that Hilo now has areas that don't feel as safe. Not the case at all here. We felt like we were outside of the city and in a lush oasis, but it was close by Hilo with no problem at all going in for dinner, etc. This home is also closer to VolcanoNP, which we visiting one full day. The owners were are extremely responsive and very friendly. When we're back in Hilo, we'll definitely stay here again!

We used this as a home base to visit family in Hilo. It is close to town. It is close enough to all the beaches in Hilo. Raul and his family are very kind and welcoming.

OMG! The property is beautiful and the owners are amazing!! Once we drove up our granddaughter (7 yrs) decided that she's moving to Hilo. We live on Oahu on the Windward side of the island (Kaneohe)m which is beautiful. However, I have to say staying here is what Hawaii is all about. Beautiful scenery, fresh air, relaxing country/island atmosphere and comforts of home. Property has everything you need - a home away from home and close to downtown - what else could you ask for. As we were leaving our grandkids asked us when we were coming back to Hilo and if we could stay there again. We will definitely be back! I encourage you book this property - you won't be disappointed.

The stay was great, guesthouse was very clean and had everything you need. The host answered all questions right away. 15min from everything in Downtown Hilo. Only thing for me was I didn’t feel much privacy since the family is in garage connected to the house we are in and there house is right in front. But I would totally recommend.

Raul was very responsive with questions/requests. Property was beautiful (nice views!) and the animals were a plus with the kiddos! Guest house was clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here the next time we are in Hilo!

Watching the sunrise over the ocean was very nice and being just 10-15 minutes from town with beaches, waterfalls, restaurants and grocery was so great. We enjoyed our stay immensely and thank you for being such a nice host to us. I appreciate you having a baby bath for us, laundry with detergent, drying rack, dishwasher, coffee, microwave and kitchen space so well stocked and so much more. The bathroom was great for taking care of baby baths and all the towels were very soft. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer just for us right in the house. Your bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious, love the big closets with hangers! We were so comfortable and thank you for offering this gem! Would stay again for sure! Mahalo
