Overview
We're Maui's only multicultural dance and arts center providing an inviting way to experience Hawai'i's heritage. This class is geared to beginners of all ages; and is fun, friendly class welcoming to everyone, visitors and kama 'aina and all ages. This class is lead by our highly experienced instructors. You'll leave knowing more about Tahiti, Tahitian culture and drumming. Classes at Wonderful World of Aloha also include complimentary entrance to our unique "Migrations" galleries that present the story of the centuries of migrations to Hawai'i through dance costumes, implements and instruments.
Itinerary
Tahitian Drumming is one of the most exciting forms of music in all of Polynesia. You'll spend an hour with our expert instructors and drum makers learning the history and significance of the To'ere drum and how it's made. Then you'll learn the techniques and rhythms. You'll also learn about the other drums used in Tahitian music like the Fa'atete, and the Pahu.
