There is no SCUBA experience required to participate in this activity! Our guests will have to opportunity to explore an underwater world rich with sea life, and home to over 1,250 species found only in the Hawaiian Islands. With lava arches, schooling fish, majestic reef ecosystems, dolphins, manta rays and more, our guided tour for uncertified divers will excite even the most experienced adventurer. Our dive boat, the Anela Kai, is the largest and most spacious SCUBA boat on Kauai and each diver will have to opportunity to dive in 2 different locations. Out boat's size makes it perfect for Pacific Ocean diving giving you ample space to walk around, an upper-level observation deck and a smooth ride along the ocean coast. We always check dive conditions and will customize our dive plan in order to make this experience as fun, and safe as possible for you and your whole family.
Itinerary
Once checked in at the shop and all equipment has been fitted and loaded, guests will be driven approximately 2 miles to the Kukuiula Small Boat Harbor. There students will be given a detailed briefing about the fundamentals of SCUBA diving, including basic theory, safety, equipment use, and underwater communication. Once the briefing is complete, they will have the chance to practice the skills and get comfortable in the water with their SCUBA equipment. Next, it's a short walk to the boat where they will get a boat safety briefing from one of our coast guard certified captains. Our maximum depth for each dive is 40 ft, and we will do two dives for approximately 30-45 minutes each from the boat at some of the most famous South Shore dive sites in Kauai.
The whole experience takes roughly half a day, and the skills you learn will help prepare you for the Open Water Diver course if you choose to later become a certified diver. Snacks and drinks are provided on our dive boat, which is the largest and most spacious dive boat on the Island. Once finished, your instructor will drive you back to the Dive Shop to process your successful course completion.
