Itinerary

A new tasting experience from creators of the must-do Lydgate Farms Chocolate Tour. Get the inside scoop from our friendly beekeepers, who will teach, taste, and demonstrate to you all of the magic of apis mellifera ⏤ the honey bee.

Put on bee-suits and see inside an active beehive on this safe, comfortable, and fun family activity (ages 7+). Taste fresh honey from the comb, the way it was first enjoyed. All in a beautiful and tropical farm setting on Kauai’s East side.

Held in a special corner of Lydgate Farms never before open to the public, this tour is a perfect way to get deeper into your knowledge of Hawaiian agriculture, learning new and fascinating things about one of the worlds favorite foods — honey!

Meeting & Logistics

Search for "Lydgate Farms Chocolate Tour" on Google maps or Waze and follow the directions to 5730 Olohena Road. Please arrive 15 minutes before your booking. Driving directions are included in the welcome email.

  • Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries

  • Please list the age of your child or children when making a reservation. We only allow children over 7 years old.
  • Farm visits require a tour reservation (we do not offer self-guided tours). Visit our tasting room in Kapaa town instead!
  • Children tour fare is valid for kids 7-12 . We do not allow children under 7, including infants in carriers, as this experience is best suited for older children and adults. We invite families with younger children to visit our new Lydgate Chocolate Tasting Room in downtown Kapaa: now open Monday – Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Please no children under 7.
  • Special Requirements: This outdoor farm tour includes walking and standing. You must be able to comfortably walk ~100 yards and stand for 15 minutes. You must also be able to put on a full body bee suit without assistance.
  • Dress comfortably (you will be wearing a bee suit over your clothes)
  • Wear closed-toe shoes (with calf-length socks). Sandals not recommended.
  • Bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
