Itinerary
- Join us to discovery the world's most active volcano, Kilauea. We'll take you to the massive caldera where Kilauea lives and frequently erupts with towering geysers of lava. You'll walk through an ancient lava tube, feel the heat of volcanic steam vents, and see amazing landscapes shaped by fire and time. (120 mins)
- Ride along the winding Old Māmalahoa Highway—a hidden gem surrounded by lush forests on the Hāmākua Coast. Lined with towering trees and ocean views, this peaceful road offers a glimpse of Hawaiʻi’s natural beauty at every turn. We'll stop at Kawainui Falls, a cascading waterway emerging from a giant lava tube. (15 mins)
- Rainbow Falls is a stunning 80-foot waterfall located in Hilo. On sunny mornings, you might see a rainbow in the mist of the cascading falls fed by the Wailuku River. We'll share the history and legends of the river and explore the massive, photo-worthy banyan tree nearby. (30 mins)
- The Hilo Farmer's Market is a vibrant local marketplace in Downtown Hilo visited by locals and visitors alike. Operating seven day a week, it is known for its fresh fresh and produce, local treats, and handmade crafts. (30 mins)
- The King Kamehameha statue in Hilo honors the great Hawaiian chief who united the Hawaiian Islands. We make a brief stop here to talk about the significance of his life and legacy in Hawaiian history. (10 mins)
- See the largest authentic, Edo-style garden outside of Japan. Liliuokalani Gardens is a serene parkway with arched bridges and ponds surrounded by lush greenery, statues, and towering banyan trees. A great place to relax and take photos. (30 mins)
- Richardson's Beach is a tranquil seaside spot known for its black sands and scenic views of Hilo Bay and the Hāmākua Coast. Explore the many tide pools where green sea turtles often gather and take a quick swim. (30 mins)
