Itinerary
- With turquoise water, soft sand, and lava rock cliffs, it’s a favorite spot for swimming, bodyboarding, and sunset views. The beach was once hard to reach, but a paved road now makes this hidden gem easy to enjoy.
- We’ll pass by Pu‘ukoholā Heiau, a sacred temple built by King Kamehameha I in the late 1700s. Your guide will share a short story about its powerful history and role in uniting the Hawaiian Islands.
- We’ll stop at the Hāmākua Macadamia Nut Company, where you can stretch your legs, enjoy complimentary tastings, and see how these local favorites are made. It’s a fun and flavorful break filled with island-made treats! (15 mins)
- Spencer Beach (officially Samuel M. Spencer Beach Park) is named after Samuel Mahuka Spencer, who served as the Hawaii County Board of Supervisors’ chairman (roughly the county’s executive) from 1924 to 1944.
- Not only is Hāpuna a Big island favorite but it ranked No. 1 in Travellers Worldwide's 24 Best Beaches in the U.S. list for 2023. We will spend 1 hour 30 min to 2 hours at this beautiful destination. (120 mins)
- We will stop at the Kiholo bay overloook for photo opportunity (10 mins)
