Beautiful property, very clean and enjoyed working with the property manager!
This is truly one of those places that is so much better than advertised. The photos do not do the views justice, and the outdoor seating area and pool were far beyond expectations. We all agreed, we have never spent so much time in a pool in our lives. But when you float in 80-degree weather while watching whales and spinner dolphins, it’s hard to leave. Bedrooms, living area & kitchen were as advertised but it was the small touches that made the stay excellent.The laundry room was equipped with everything you would need if you stayed a month. Each bathroom offered body wash, soaps and other goodies while the pool area was equipped with a basket of sun block & more. There were towels galore and the private back yard BBQ area was delightful. Plus, the grill is hooked to the main propane tank, so never worry about running out.The kitchen had dozens of spices, high quality knives and every utensil needed to create a gourmet dinner. Oh. and the pull-out refrigerator drawers were an incredibly pleasant surprise. The house is about 45 min. from the airport but after spending time in downtown Kona, it was quickly clear the drive is worth it. SO fewer people & the town of Waimea is only 10 miles away with grocery stores and an incredible farmers market that offered fresh produce, fresh fish and local artists. Again, it was by far the best VRBO stay we have ever experienced. Thanks to Sophie for answering the few questions we had quickly and pleasantly. We will be back!
This is truly an amazing property, and we have rented 6 other homes in the islands. It really is better than the pictures. The pool is much larger than it looks in the photos. Whale watchimg from the lanai (overlooking the pool) or from on the pool was a treat. Great beds. A/C zones for individual preferenced. An incredibly well stocked kitchen. If you rent this ho.e, youbwill NOT be disappointed! We give it 6 stars out of 5.
Our second stay at this lovely property…plenty of whale activity here and green sea turtles at nearby Puako. We hope to see you again in the future.
The house was great. Very clean and well taken care of. Host were very helpful and always answered our questions right away or returns call quickly. Beautiful and safe location. Saw many whales and dolphins from the porch of the house.
Amazing house, fully supplied with everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped for us to prepare a Christmas dinner. The views are outstanding and our favorite activity was hanging out in the pool watching the whales and dolphins out in the bay. Owners were very prompt in responding to questions. Probably the best home we have ever rented.
One of the best stays we've ever had. The house is so perfectly situated, there are breathtaking views from every room.
When you are in the pool it feels like you are floating somewhere between sea and sky.
The house far exceeded our expectations. It's large, and every bedroom feels private. The beds are comfortable, and the linens were wonderful. Every amenity you could want or think of has been provided, and there were even sweet welcome treats for us.
Communication was easy and fast. There is a handy guide for the house and nearby places to go. The landscaping is beautiful, and the decor in the house is so fun!
My favorite thing was having coffee outside by the pool every morning while watching tiny tropical birds come down and play in the water at the pool's edge.
Every view has a spot to relax and take it in, Sunset by the front of the house fire pit, sunrise by the pool, ocean views from the hot tub. The house is so nice we didn't want to leave it!
Will absolutely book this house again during whale migration season or any other time of year, it's 100% worth it! It made our stay on the Big Island amazing! Thank you to the hosts for creating such a welcoming home and sharing it with others!

This was our second stay in this fabulous home with its incredible views, and it did not disappoint at all! The home is perched above the Kohala Coastline; close enough that you can not only see but can also hear the whales frolicking in the water below the house. It is AMAZING to sit out on the lanai for hours at a time and watch the whales breaching and fin slapping; tail slapping and breaching some more. On one particular day, we counter OVER 20 whales AT ONE TIME playing in the ocean in our line of sight. There are no words to describe how that felt. Breathtaking is probably the closest I could come to a fitting adjective.
The house itself is lovely; just lovely! The beds and couches are extremely comfortable and the home is beautifully decorated with a cozy Hawaiian feel. The kitchen is very well-stocked with all the accouterments one could desire, although with so many excellent restaurants nearby, we never cooked dinner at home. The property is conveniently located to almost all of the resorts on the Gold Coast of the Big Island, and decent shopping can be found nearby at the Queens and Kings Shopping Centers. The nearest grocery store is 30 minutes away in Waimea, but there are also plenty of grocery stores in Kona and one in Waikoloa Village; both towns are just a little bit out of the way if one wants to stop and pick up groceries on their way from the airport.
Sophie, the Property Manager, is a true gem; very responsive and an absolute pleasure to deal with.
We all loved our vacation stay! The views of the Whales and sunset were spectacular every day. The location was far enough North to take us out of any resort traffic and kept us in a relaxing quiet neighborhood overlooking the ocean. There were numerous pool and beach toys for the children and we felt comfortable throughout the home.
Enjoyed all aspects of the property.
This house has everything and more. The host thought of everything. Literally everything. Baskets of toiletries in every bathroom, workout items if that’s your thing. Music area, computer, the list goes on. The house is beautiful in an area that is quiet and alluded and close enough that the resort area is a quick drive. And don’t get me started on the whales. It was our own private sea world show all day every day. Amazing and we definitely hope to be back!
