We have stayed in Maui every year for the last ten years. We have stayed at the Grand Champions for the last 7 years. This time we needed a two bedroom and 2 washroom place as we were bringing a single mom and child with us. This unit could be nice, however, it is really lacking maintenance, and house keeping.
The carpet and sofa are very soiled and desperately need a cleaning. The bathmats were filthy, I grabbed all of them and put them through the washer. The oven was so caked with bubbled over debris that smoke was pouring out and the smoke detector went off. I had to clean the oven so we could use it. I cleaned the front of the kitchen cabinets and the fridge, and the handles, they were sticky. The fridge was not balanced, someone put tinfoil under one of the legs. My husband balanced the fridge by properly using the fridge legs. The lower drawer on the stove was hanging half off. We took it out and found a rusty pizza pan in the back preventing the drawer from moving properly on the rails.
Something that also needs to be addressed is the lack of organization. This doesn’t cost anything. The kitchen cabinets need to be properly gone through and old, damaged dishes, pots and pans and cookware need to be removed. If something is missing, more keeps getting added and the old and damaged are not removed. My husband opened one of the top cabinet doors and a wine glass fell out, hitting the door of the cabinet, it broke and cut my husband’s face. I could go on.

The unit must all interiors are very old. Air condition and fridge were much too loud. The fridge was working all the time and was disturbing by night.
In Germany or Western Europe you would never get the money we paid for such an apartment!

Great condo. Serene setting Fun watching the golfers close to pool, beach , and kihei. Might be my last time in Maui so this was a great place to stay.

We love the Wailea area, great beaches and walking areas. The condo is situated close to the amenities we enjoy, and had everything we needed.

This was our 5th visit to Maui but our first time staying in Wailea and the location is fantastic. Contact with the owners prior to our arrival was always quite prompt. We were not able to check in when we expected because the previous guests decided to book a snorkel tour the morning of their check out making it impossible for the cleaners to come in to get the unit ready for us. Thankfully the owners gave us a contact person/phone number(Nichole) for us to use if we had any problems. We called to inquire about checking in and it was then that we were informed that our check in would be late. As we had groceries already purchased we were concerned for them to get spoiled sitting in a hot car. Nicole arranged for us to drop them off before the place was cleaned and then contacted us as soon as it was ready. We had a few issues the first day(broken blender, no wifi) and she helped us immediately. The condo is well equipped with beach gear… only missing an umbrella, lots of dishes, appliances… everything you have at home. The condo is starting to need a few maintenance fixes … nothing really major but would help things to run smoothly. It may be a little dated but the beds were very comfortable, the dishwasher, washer and dryer all appeared to be new and the ceiling fans were smooth running and quiet. There’s a big comfy couch and a nice table outside for el fresco dining. Great views from the patio and close to one of the pools. Great value for the location.

Plenty of linens, towels, and beach supplies (chairs, ice chest, flippers). The complex is beautiful and well maintained. Will definitely consider booking again.

Fan in second bathroom makes a very big noise for a few minutes before quieting down.
Mat in kitchen curled and a fall risk, mat on patio needs to be replaced. Light in refrigerator broken, twin beds very high (3 mattresses high) and master bed too firm.

Great view of the golf course and quick access to the mall just down the hill. Everything in the condo is in working condition and the A/C works well.

Grand Champions is central and very nice. We enjoyed Tracie’s unit and loved proximity to pool and bbq. Would definitely visit again.
The good - great area and good location for many activities. Kitchen had what we needed. Lovely view overlooking quiet pool and golf course with distant view of ocean. The bad - 16 steps, hard for recent knee replacement. Unit is dated and many misc handyman projects need done. The carpet was disgusting. The cleanliness isn’t what we would want for our home or rental property. The living room ceiling fan didn’t work but stand up fans provided. The worst noise came from AC whether you were inside or out. We as a group wouldn’t make this our choice without knowing it has been updated and many repairs made. Owner was great with communication.
