Cons:Mainly surrounded the property manager. -given instructions on how to access the property but failed to mention the parking structure was subdivided making initial arrival and parking a nightmare. If it wasn't for a friendly by-standard, can't say we would have figured it out. -we punched in the door code provided which failed to let us enter our stay. I called the property manager who did not pick up. After 25 mins of no response, 13hrs of travel and a cranky toddler to boot, this was not how we wanted to begin our stay. It took several more calls before Theresa picked up the phone to say "oh I thought you guys were coming two days ago". ...Now if this was in fact the case, shouldn't our door code have been long changed? This did not give me peace of mind when it came to security. There was no follow-up after this which I felt was disappointing. -I previously lived downtown Waikiki and know the area well. I do know it can be loud at night and knew the building I was booking in, despite being on the 10th floor, the noise level was still pretty unacceptable. Honestly, if we weren't se tired, I would have never fallen asleep. I wish this would have been better outlined in the description.-The leather love seat was described as a twin sized futon, however, this was a bit deceptive. It is a recliner sofa that doesn't lay flat. If you expect to have a third person there to sleep, it will be a couch sleep.
Close to everything in waikiki
We have stayed in Marine Surf many times- we love the location, the facilities and the fact you get a car parking space . We enjoyed our stay , although unit was not as good as others we’ve stayed in . The bed is huge and very comfortable, tv is great , carpet is an odd choice in a beach condo and it’s really loud at night - all night on weekends - as there’s a bar not far away & it’s not super high up . Having only one access fob is painful, too - you can’t go out separately, we’ve always had 2 fobs on the other condos in Marine Surf . Keypad doesn’t work to open .
Would always choose this location, maybe not this particular unit .
The bath towels hanging were damp.
There was a pea spot on the blanket
Rug felt dirty
The sheets were really uncomfortable. They kept slipping off the corners!
Toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags low in supply
Sliding glass door difficult to open
Leaky faucets in kitchen and bath
No washer/dryer card
Theresa was very accommodating and very responsive prior to checking in. The place was clean and trash shoot and laundry was on the same floor. Parking is free which is a huge plus in Waikiki. I would definitely make that my go to place to stay. I love it!!!!!
The apartment was neat, and clean. We enjoyed the lanai, although we didn't have much of a view of anything besides buildings. The pros were location, as we were in walking distance of many things like the beach, shopping, food. Also a pro was the use of the beach chairs and beach towels. We liked having the laundry just across the hall, very convenient. There was no noise from neighbors. Having the free parking space was awesome and really made staying here worth the money!
The cons - noise from outside - a nightclub played loud music till the wee hours; and then a couple hours later it was time for the garbage collection trucks. So sleep was not very enjoyable for either of us. The a/c unit was very loud as well.
Property location was amazing, as was the included parking. Apartment was pretty good, was clean, except under the bed, don’t look there, or plan on using the ironing board under there. There was an issue with the shower which was completely ignored, including an email sent after our stay. Had the company addressed it or even acknowledged our email with an apology, this would be a glowing review. I use the term company specifically as this is clearly a for profit business and not a caring customer oriented owner.
Great location, quiet building, with easy check-in procedures and the unit is as described in VRBO. I'd enjoy staying here again in the future!
Perfect location. Great size for a couple. Loved having the patio where we could spend evenings catching sunset and having a drink. Perfect for coffee in the morning, too! Couldn't be more central. Don't NEED a car staying here, but if you're going to explore the island and rent a car, the included parking space is a HUGE benefit. We would absolutely stay here again.
Easy to check in and check out. Great to be in Waikiki where you have access to beaches, restaurants, shops fast. Downside was noise. Band plays every night at a bar down the street and other city sounds made it tough to sleep each night.
Nice apartment I enjoyed the stay... very comfortable mattress and overall unit. Aloha!
Walking distance to the beach, Duke's, Tony Roma's, 2 Starbuck's within 1/2 block!, International Market Place (all high end shops now), etc. Free parking in condo parking lot. Room clean and neat. Great temperpedic-type mattress. When we come back, we would like to stay here.
