Great place, exactly as advertised.. they had clear check in instructions, and the internet was surprisingly fast. The homeowners were also kind enough to give me some Lilikoi grown in their garden. no complaints.

It was a fantastic location. The only thing I would say is that there should be a designated smoking area away from building. With windows open it is hard to not breathe it when right below your window. The homey touches were wonderful.
Great hosts! Gorgeous garden. We enjoyed the lanai. A central location where we could visit many island attractions.

We used the studio rental as a "home base" as we explored the island. It was clean and quiet.

It was an absolute joy staying here. The property was like a zen garden. The neighborhood was very peaceful and it was super easy to find the place. ( I found it in the dead of night during a rain shower) Most everything you need is provided, slow cooker, silverware of all varieties, cups and mugs, small fridge, soap and shampoo, cutting board and butcher knife and other convinces. The bed was super comfortable if you like soft which I do. The outside porch was a great place to eat and do yoga but you have a table and enough room inside the cozy studio to do the same. I had lots of company for my meals as well although they kept tryimg to sell me GEICO insurance (just kidding)The staff was friendly and has lots of insight into the area with many connections to help make the most of your stay. What else can I say this place was lovely and I am most certainly going to stay here again. Please definitely consider staying here if not in this unit then one of there other many units on the property.
There's no AC, so make sure you don't mind the heat.
Instructions were clear and check-in was easy.
It's not exactly an "apartment" per se but more like a small room with an en suite bathroom.
There was a cockroach in the bed the first night but it was dead already, and Hawaii is known for having bugs.
Hosts were friendly, but not super responsive.
A simple, clean studio with many of the amenities available during our one week stay. Hilo was only 20 min. away, so the location was not a challenge. With only a need of a place to sleep and shower, this unit was perfectly adequate for us in comfort, value and cost. We didn’t know our studio was in a complex with multiple connecting units in a 3-story building. Typical of Hawaiʻi homes, the walls are not double sided so you’ll hear the sounds through the walls and floors (or ceiling). We missed the notation in the listing that the studio was upstairs on the 2d level, so being disabled, I had to be very careful climbing the stairs. There was also mention of “laundry, washing machine 6 a load.” There was none onsite. There was mention of a deadbolt. There was none. We were fortunate to meet Kepi and Jim when we arrived. Checkin and checkout were easy. We would return again to this site should we visit Hawaiʻi Island again.
The hosts made an effort to make this place special and it shows. Cute garden area with light lights, quaint decor, etc. We were greeted with the sound of the frogs singing in the adorable garden! Definitely would recommend!!!

The owners Jim & Kepi are super nice & very helpful. The property is very safe. Parking is easy & very safe. The studio is on the 2nd floor of a noisy 3 story apt building. The noise from the neighbors is extremely annoying. You can hear every cough, every word, every fart, every step, the ceiling is squeaky & creaky when walked on from above. One downstairs neighbor talked outside for three straight nights while cracking beers, so annoying; another coughed constantly. The noise at night from the frogs is overwhelming.. which wouldn’t be so bad but the unit has no a/c so the windows HAVE to be left open all night. If you can suck it up & wear earplugs or headphones.. the price vs value is reasonable. If noise bothers you as it does my sensitive ears, this is definitely not a good choice. Again, the owners are GREAT, they live onsite & aren’t intrusive at all. The nearby market on Sunday’s was a nice bonus!
The property was beautiful and the room had everything you could possibly need. The hosts were warm and welcoming and so very kind we are definitely coming back!!!
This was an ideal location for us and close to where we wanted to go on the Big Island. The room was compact and had everything we needed. The property is charming and was especially amazing at night with laser lights twinkling all over the gardens. Plenty of off road parking was a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend to others!
From the minute we pulled into the property grounds we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the garden. Our stay was so relaxing. Our room was cozy and well equipped with anything we needed. We definitely will be back. Thanks Kepi for being so wonderful and welcoming. Anton and Jennifer
Stayed in this lovey studio for two nights to visit the Hilo side of the island. Location was great for going into Hilo for supplies, and it also made a great home base to visit Mauna Kea and Hawaii Volcanos National Park. The studio itself had everything we needed for our two nights. We enjoyed sitting outside on the lanai at night to enjoy the cool night air. You'll also want to explore the property grounds as it feels like you are in a jungle parades during the day, and a magical land at night with the laser lights.Only cons:No AC and coqui frogs are loud at night and roosters start crowing around 3:00 a.m. Bring earplugs.Pillows were very flat so we woke up with sore necks.
We had an amazing stay at this VRBO! The location was perfect—just outside of Hilo, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while still being close to everything we needed. It was the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring.The owners were absolutely lovely and a pleasure to talk to. They made us feel so welcome from the start, even greeting us with a cute surfboard welcome sign. It was such a thoughtful touch. They also gave us great recommendations on local activities and informed us about the erupting volcano—something we hadn’t been aware of. Seeing the eruption ended up being the highlight of our trip. It was a true bucket list experience we’ll never forget!The room was spotless and well-maintained, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Parking was easy and convenient, which was a huge plus. They even provided snorkeling gear and beach equipment, saving us the hassle of renting and making our beach days even better.This place truly made our vacation. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located stay in the area!
This is the cutest studio apartment ever! Close to Hilo & everything on the east side of the island. Very clean, comfortable bed, so quiet at night. I would stay here again in a heartbeat

A lovely place to stay! We vacation at the Big Island twice a year and always stay with Kepi and Jim. They are 100% the best hosts! There is a number of different bungalows to choose from; studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom. Always clean and reasonably priced. Lovely grounds and close to everything.
