Excellent stay, we appreciated the proximity to Seasport dive center for scuba diving adventures. We also highly enjoyed having a kitchen and quiet space to unwind.
My wife and I were on our Honeymoon, first time to Hawaii/Kauai. The property was fantastic, everything we could have wished for. Very quiet with great views of the ocean, hills and town. Pete put us in one of the top units and one of the best parts of our vacation was just sitting on the balconies in the morning with our coffee taking it all in. Or at night with a drink listening to the ocean and enjoying the quietness of the sleepy seaside village atmosphere. Easy walk down to the beaches and restaurants with a ton of activities within a 10 minute drive.
Pete was an incredible gracious host. We decided to extend for a few days which he went out of his way to accommodate. Incredibly helpful with local places to visit, restaurants and hidden gems. When our travels take us back to Kauai we will definitely be booking with him again.
We loved our stay! The condo was amazing in all ways and was in the perfect location. Can’t wait to go again! Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is walking distance to beaches and the decor was perfect for the area. It was clean and there was person touches such as sunscreen and chocolate on the fridge that we appreciated. Parking was tight, but no big deal. Plenty of amenities on site and overall it was a great stay. The bed is very comfortable!
This was a nightmare. We showed up on the evening of our first stay only to find that they double booked and we now had no place for the next four nights. Pete’s response was “ sorry, but I’m booked and can’t help you “. We had confirmation from 2 months prior that our stay was scheduled and emails from Pete himself. Didn’t matter. I’d urge everyone to think twice before booking with him!!!!
The South Shore and Poipu Beach are beautiful and laid-back. Nice property

Pete is a great host and was awesome with communicating. The property is in a great location within walking distance to the beach and a go to restaurant. This place is great for solo travelers along with couples who are looking to explore the island but want a comfortable place to come after a day of adventure instead of a resort.
Not clean! Dirty and unkept. There for two weeks. No offer for clean linens. Laundry room filthy. Outside common area disgusting. Too unkept to use barbeque. Linens grungy. Everything felt sticky. No contact with manager. Really bummed how bad it was. Glad we were gone during the day--no desire to just relax and hang out there. It was quiet at night however--one good thing.
We loved our Ilima apartment at Poipu Plantation. Simple, comfortable and really well set-up with everything we needed. Easy access and a nice garden view from our apartment. The ceiling fans and cross breezes kept the unit very comfortable and if we needed A/C for a blast of cool air, it was perfect.
We enjoyed being part of a small apartment complex and people were very friendly and helpful. Nice garden and grounds situated in a residential setting so although only a very short walk to the beach, it was also very quiet, with the exception of early morning roosters!
Pete attended to our every need and was quick to respond if we had any questions. The office staff were super helpful with suggestions of what to see and where to go and the housekeeping staff were very kind when one of us needed some basic first aid items after a hiking fall.
We really appreciated the loan of beach chairs, towels and a beach umbrella - we hit the beach every day and we were totally set!
We also appreciated the text messaged suggestions and advice well before we arrived (eg. to make advance dinner reservations or book tours ahead of arrival).
All in all, a great place to stay in Poipu. We did a lot of sightseeing and touring the island as it was our first time here and we always felt we were coming back to our home away from home each day. We felt very welcome and would definitely return!
You cannot beat this place for the price. Excellent lodging, helpful staff giving you ideas on where to go/see/activities/food/etc.
Fantastic location. We literally walked down the block and saw the ocean! After traveling all over the island, we think we'll stay in Poipu again next time we go to Kauai.
My only comment is that this is for people comfortable with a beachy vibe, and definitely not the resort experience.
