Can't beat the location of this property. The large backyard opens into the softest sand beach. Kids and young adults set up a volleyball net and played the whole week dipping into the ocean when too sweaty! Trade winds make outside activities comfortable. Only 1 AC unit in a small BDR in the corner. Other 2 bdr were comfortable with the use of fans. Upstairs master bed had no AC but no need due to the ceiling fan and opening the screened windows. Again for the price you can't beat the location and layout of the property. A gem.
Nothing short of the best
The home is in a beautiful location in Kailua. The house has a great layout that is light and airy with a view of a green expanse that directly opens to a lovely beach.
Our daughter and her family live in Kailua and we had wonderful family gatherings with them.
Furthermore, we had a great experience with the property manager, Misty, booking the home, keeping us informed and quickly responded to any questions.
We definitely hope to return to this beautiful home in the future.
We have rented me houses on Kailua beach and this one for the price is the best. The master bedroom feels like a treehouse with a view to die for.
Grandchildren ran out of the house, across the lawn and right on to the beach for seven days. What could be better than that. The home is not luxurious, but is very nice, well-stocked and clean. The grounds and setting are unbeatable.
Great house in a very quiet neighborhood right on beach. We were there for a family (5 adults) vacation over Christmas. Check-in and Check-out were super simple and easy! Kailua town is a beautiful little spot with lots of conveniences. We like to cook on our vacations, so Whole Food and Foodland plus the very well appointed kitchen made is fun and easy. Fantastic grill on patio, Maytag washer/dryer added to the convenience of a week in paradise. The property manager was very quick and prompt to reply to little issues that came up. Plenty of towels, paper supplies, beach chairs, etc. for our week.
But the house is NOT air conditioned. The temperature in December was fine, but the house is extremely damp. There is one bedroom that has an antiquated wall unit that we didn't even try to use. Every room has books, shelves and shelves of books, which I think have absorbed the moisture in the air, so some of the rooms have a very, very musty odor.
The best part of the house is the second floor master suite (I think is a newer addition to the house?) Beautiful walk in shower "room" with jacuzzi tub, but it didn't work. Gorgeous lanai where you can see the ocean and get fabulous breezes. BUT Internet is very spotty or none on the second floor. Several ceiling light bulbs needed replacing.
Two full baths on first floor are, for lack of better words, "scary". Clean but very, very old, damp and dated. Photos make them look bright, but they aren't. There is a second smaller house on the property that shares the yard and beach area. The guests there for the week used a shared patio area as a "smokers' lounge. I had to ask them to stop and they were very accommodating but FYI, it could be different. Location, location, location for this high $$ property.
This is an amazing property with a great location, close to everything! I would highly recommend it.
I'm over 60 years old and don't use this term very often but the only way I can describe this property is EPIC! From the views to the property & the house itself including all the ocean toys & the incredible outside shower, the best place I've stayed!
Lovely home in a great location. I was told Kailua beach was beautiful but this really exceeded my expectations.
I had a few issues with the home that keep me from giving it 5 stars, especially at this price. First the kitchen is nice and large, but many of the cabinets are locked and there was no place to put food. So I spent the week with bread and cereal etc stacked up all over the counters. I can't stand a messy kitchen so it was a low grade annoyance all week.
Second, one of the downstairs bedrooms didn't have AC, and since it didn't get any breezes, it really needed it. There plenty of fans, but it was still uncomfortable in there.
And finally, there are some kind of birds nesting in the area that made noise all night! They sounded like children crying, and one would start up right outside the window and wake us several times per night. We've been to Hawaii several times before and have never heard these sounds before, so maybe it's mating season or something. Normally it would be pretty cool to be lulled to sleep with exotic bird calls, but this was more akin to roosters crowing.
We stayed here for spring break and had a fantastic time!! Those views are amazing! We grilled and walked on the beach! Every morning we walked to the market for a delicious breakfast and coffee!! I texted Misty through out my stay and she responded very quickly!! Loved it!!
