The condo was lovely and as described. It had everything we needed for a one week stay. The reason for giving a 4 star for the check in procedure is: When you arrive at 10 am, it is a long day to not be able to check in until 4pm. We arrived about an hour early and asked to be allowed to check in. There is really no personal touch, or anyone to talk to about this. There did not appear to still be cleaners at the property, but no one got back to us to let us know. We ended up waiting until 4 because there was no one to talk to about this. Everything is automatic and programmed for the published hours. The office staff was very friendly but they have no control about this particular part of the check in process.
Location was great and unit was nicely equipped with all that we needed for our stay. Beautiful views and very clean. Will certainly stay here again if/when we visit Maui again.
The staff was very welcoming and getting our room was really easy. We really appreciated not having a key and just having a code was so much more convenient when going back to the room. Everything was really clean and we had a nice view on the beach! We went snorkling right on the beach and we saw some amazing things!we really enjoyed the access to the beach! If you can’t stand the sound of the highway, just be aware that the room is close to it (but we really didn’t mind!)
My wife and I stayed here to celebrate an anniversary. We picked this location because it was centrally located to all the places we were planning to visit on the island and the price was reasonable. Upon arriving, we were greeted at the front desk with a warm reception and given all the details about the property; even given some coupons!
The room was very clean and was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The only con I would have would be the proximity to the highway. When sitting out on the balcony, you're almost constantly hearing traffic drive by. You may also hear It in the mornings, alongside the wild roosters crowing ;). It's definitely an older crowd that stays here, but that makes it a very quiet environment. Just an fyi; it's typically windy on this part of Maui, and we weren't able to swim at the beach in front of the property because of the rough wave conditions, but we were able to find other places to enjoy the ocean.
Overall, it met our expectations and I highly recommend this location. We will definitely consider staying here again if we find ourselves back on Maui!
The check-in process was incredibly easy and fast. The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay! It was incredibly peaceful, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the early morning and at dinner time. We rarely heard noise from other guests, including the neighbors next door! We loved that there was a recycling center in the parking lot. The views were incredible! You could see Haleakala from the front door and Pu'u Kukui and the ocean from the balcony! It was located in a central location and we found it easy to get to West Maui, Iao Valley, Hana, and Haleakala. We would stay here, again, in a heartbeat!
We really enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach. This condo had everything you needed for your stay. Super clean. The complex itself is very quite and easy to relax at. I read a lot of previous reviews of people complaining about the road noise but that did not bother us at all. The beach access is great and swimmable. The view on the lanai is stunning and we spent a lot of time taking in the views. Highly recommend for a party of two.
Great location on the island. Morning is the best time to spend here because the winds pick up in the afternoon. Excellent access to walking beach. I highly recommend this place.
Great condo, amenities, and location. The pool and hot tub are nice, very easy access to the beach with a gear rental shop on site. Easy parking and short drive to other areas on the island. Very close to the airport. Unit was clean and as described, everything functioning appropriately. Would recommend staying here.
Fairly quiet. Grounds are kept neat. Scarce Amenities. The condo was well equipped. It was fine for my needs this trip
Condo was in a good location north of town, but not too far. It was really well appointed and had everything you would need. Especially for cooking! Only downside…..weren’t aware it was on the highway and that was definitely a detractor at night.

Another "exceptional experience" at Sugar Beach Resort. Everything was as advertised and deserving of all posted accolades. Location provides the ideal home base to all directions, sites and shopping. Unit was in top condition, very clean, along with recent upgrades. Looking forward to another return visit soonest.

I have stayed at Sugar Beach Resort before. The grounds are very clean and maintained. The unit was clean and had a good supply of cleaning products and paper products. During the third load of laundry the pump broke. I called the customer service desk and it was fixed by the next day. I shared the room with a friend/coworker. Since she had never been to Maui before I told her to take the bedroom and I would sleep on the sofa bed. The comfort of the sofa bed was just as expected, not comfortable at all. These are all minor things. We loved the unit and had a great trip.
The winds here are incredible. Hard to lay on the beach without getting sandblasted and losing towel. Patio door vibrates when the wind is howling. Thankfully you do not hear from the bedroom. Centrally located but you need a car to get around. Location worked for us so we could golf at several different courses. Nice beach if you enjoy long walks and very quiet area.
The condo was extremely clean, and very well stocked, with everything we could need for our stay. A great location and ease of access to the amenities around the island.
Also to no fault of the rental or the owners of the condo, no one mentions how windy the location is. Not sure if it was the season or month when we came to visit, but it was extremely windy at the property. During our stay, we only were outside by the ocean and/or pool for a total of 4 hours. If you didn’t sent something on top of your towel, it would be gone with the wind.
My husband and I had an overall nice 5 day stay at this property. Some of the nice touches were the thick beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella provided. It was nice to be able to walk down to the beach. One issue was the cleanliness of the unit. Kitchen and bathroom clean. The bedroom carpet is dirty and stained. It bothers me when you don’t feel comfortable letting your feet touch the floor. Vasca asked soon after arriving about the cleanliness. I let them know and they asked for photos which I provided. There response was “I’m very sorry for this issue”. If asking it would have been nice to send someone up to clean it.
