A very comfortable condominium with a spacious new kitchen which has all the necessities. We had a really restful week as the property is very quiet.
We stayed at Sugar beach for a week. It has a gorgeous beach and nice pool facility. The condo was clean and roomy. It does not have internet TV so we watched Netflix in my iPad. Lovely kitchen a view.

What, in our experience, made this condo stand out are 3 things: location, peacefulness, and beach views. Located in the north side of Kihei, the condo is about 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Wailea, and some 30 minutes from Lahaina and north shore so it's incredibly easy to get to pretty much anywhere you need to on the island. Still, also being located outside of towns, and it not being a big resort, it offers a lot of peace and opportunity to relax without all the crowds to get from big resorts. That itself was so awesome to have at night after getting back in our in the morning when you just wanted to slowly wake up with coffee while overlooking the beach. And lastly, this unit not only faced the beach but is actually on the beach so having that direct view was amazing.
The unit itself and the resort does not offer all the amenities a Four Seasons resort does and it is what you would expect a 1 bd, 1 bath condo to be like, BUT It is also much much cheaper than those resorts AND since you have a kitchen and a grocery store about 5 to 7 minutes away, it gives you opportunities to eat what you want, when you want, and let's you control your cost better, which we found to be a great perk!
So if you're looking for a place that gives you proximity to most of the island, peace in the morning and evening, great view of the beach and the island, and a place that lets you better plan your meals and cost - which you can use for all kinds of fun excursions and gifts - this unit, and resort, is absolutely for you.
Overall nice stay. Resort needs painting on outside storage doors which is what you see the most walking to unit. Not a good first impression. Unit has a beautiful modern kitchen and view off balcony is awesome. Right on water. Bathroom not that nice and bedroom has no tv. Baseboards need paint and carpet is not my thing in Hawaii, nice sandwich shop and bar on property, but other restaurants and stores are 15 minute drive. Airport is only 17 minute drive. Vacassa, rental manager was great, immediately responding to our needs.
Had a wonderful time here. The furnishings and decor are a little tired but kitchen is fabulous however could use a few more items such as sharp knives, tin Foil, Saran Wrap but would definitely stay here again.
If you want to see whales from your room, this is the place! It’s conveniently located to get all over the island every day! We didn’t miss a thing! Even rest days were nice! We saved by grocery shopping and eating here. I would not recommend the sofa bed for an adult though, it’s thin and could probably be replaced. Not a real issue with our 6 yr old tho.
We have stayed at Sugar Beach Resort every year over the past decade and really enjoy it. I’m not sure what happened but the pictures on line show the living area with a couch and two chairs but when we got there it only had one chair so that was disappointing.
The view is absolutely amazing. We had beautiful sunsets. The bed is very comfortable. Sleeping with the sound of the waves all week and having coffee or eat on the balcony was wonderful. But the carpet really needs to be removed and the kitchen should be a little more equipped and contain basic condiments like salt and pepper. Still a wonderful week!!!

No frills with this price and it’s fine, a lot of regulars that come back every year though they always stay in the same units. We have been many times over the years and definitely can see the difference from unit to unit. Pool, BBQs, and property was very well maintained.
This is a sweet little place, very quiet except for the roaring waves. The balcony with the view is the best part. And the beds are very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by this darling place.
Vacasa allowed early check in which was very much appreciated. Very comfy bed. Pool floaties abd beach chairs/towels also included. Amazing view, especially during sunrise. Great pool, hot tub and beach access. Highly recommended.
Loved how clean the condo felt. The dish soap and laundry soap was a great extra! Loved the lay out too. Great view !

This condo was clean and had a great view. Loved being able to open the sliders and see & hear the ocean. It had a nice kitchen and A/C. I appreciated that it had plenty hangers & drawers to unpack your clothes/toiletries. It is small, but was good for my husband and me. Not sure you'd want more than 2 people staying there. The complex was nice and pretty quiet. The grounds were pretty - loved lounging on the lawn watching the waves. I would stay there again.

Pretty location. The vent in the bathroom needed a good cleaning. It was full of lint and gross.
A great location where you can walk the beach for hours without any buildings around. But if you want shaved ice (or an ABC store or ATM) it is only a 5-8 minute walk away. The co do is really well appointed with personal touches. Roomy enough for 3-4 without feeling squeezed. And it is definitely a bonus to have washer and dryer. Would definitely stay here again.
View was incredible and ideally situated on the island so that all things are quite accessible! Overall a great stay.
We enjoyed our stay immensely! Had a long weekend before our family joined us and we moved further south. Condo is exactly as described, and the view is perfect. We saw plenty of whale action with our morning coffee, even at this early point in the season. Our only comment is that the provided cookware (skillet) was not appropriate for the glass-surface induction cooktop - it left a visible scratch when we used it. Thank goodness for the Vacasa insurance, but we felt absolutely awful! The property manager was so great, and the process of reporting and resolving the damage was very professionally and smoothly handled. We would love to stay here again!
Condo had a great view for sunsets, nice long walks on the beach, was fairly clean and comfy bed.
Cons: no extras (condiments, spices, chairs, beach stuff etc), check out time was 10am which is pretty early for people who have a late flight. They wouldn’t allow a later check out - and the cleaners were there before 10 for cleaning. Some items were dirty like vents etc, didn’t feel super clean. Chairs were all uncomfortable. Bed in the room was comfortable, but thin pillows. Pull out bed only ok for small child. Beach wasn’t great swimming but great walking.
Overall I would stay again, certainly not a 5 star stay but ok for average folk.
