Comfortable, prompt response to questions, central location.
It was clean but walking straight into a bedroom was not ideal. It stated that the one rooms was a queen bed and futon but all of the beds were actually twin size. The beds were very uncomfortable and short, there were no plates. The only place to wash dishes was in the bathroom sinks and the water pitcher with the expired filter could only be filled by the shower. The people above us the last night were loud from 12-3 and easily heard walking around the entire night.
The location of the unit was great in terms of being close to everything we needed - beach, restaurants, stores, etc. Cleanliness was fine and the host was very responsive in all communication. This property worked well for us - but only because we also had the upper unit of this home booked as well. The noise level from people walking upstairs is pretty loud in this unit. Since it was our family and we were aware of each other's quiet times needed, it worked ok. It might be more difficult, however, if strangers were in the upstairs unit.

Interesting place. We new there was no sink in the "kitchen" but it was still interesting. Please change the entry code for each new guest. We had the prior guest walk in on us shortly after we arrived. Quite the surprise. We were staying in Kona for two weeks and made the trip around the island to go to the volcano national park and only stayed here one night. Was exactly what we needed. While the directions were good the place is very tricky to find the first time you come in. We figured it out though. Thanks also for the help with our reservation which we screwed up - but they were able to work some magic and get us in when we needed.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There were four of us staying in the apartment, which was very clean and spacious. We appreciated having two bathrooms, and the location was truly convenient. Being able to wake up in the middle of the night to see the volcano erupt was a special experience. We did notice that the kitchenette did not have a sink making cleaning dishes awkward, and the beds were a very firm. Additionally, the futon wasn't comfortable enough to serve as a fourth bed. Nonetheless, we truly appreciated our time there and enjoyed our stay overall.
Located at the heart of everything! Quick communication when we had simple questions. Only inconvenient thing was no kitchen sink.
We only stayed for one day, but it was fantastic. The location was near everything we wanted to do. The place was very clean and spacious.
This ground floor unit forms part of a single family converted house. Two additional rental units are upstairs. The owner seems to rent out two identical houses across the driveway as well.Pros: central location, spacious, clean, responsive host.Cons: located just off of a main road with lack of any real signage makes finding the unit each time tricky. Living room "curtains" at the front and rear are satin / see-through so lack privacy. The house lacks sound insulation so normal steps upstairs sound like a stampede of elephants. Kitchenette has 4 cereal bowls, 3 spoons, 2 forks, 1 knife (and no plates). Dishwashing is to be done in the small bathroom sink that lacks a counter top. White tile flooring literally everywhere quickly attracts dirt.We would not stay here again.
Great location for visiting Hilo and surrounding area. Perfect size for two couples. Clean, easy to access, awesome host.
Loved the spaciousness of the apartment, location (about 1 1/2 to other popular cities & excursion but didn’t like hearing those walking in the upstairs unit, no kitchen access & the roaches!!! Nighttime crawlers especially in the room near the entryway & bathroom. Contacted owner & they dropped off bug spray for us to use since the exterminator was unable to come out over the weekend. My eldest son slept in rental car. It caused us anxiety & become paranoid about taking the critters home with us when packing. If the roaches weren’t there it would have been one of the best VRBO’s that I stayed in.
It was a great place to stay while vacationing for the first time in Hawaii. Although we were only really there to sleep, it was comfortable and quiet for relaxing. Plenty of space and clean. I would definitely stay there again if and when I come back to Hawaii.
Place was new and clean, bare bones and functional. But strange layout (enter through bedroom), no kitchen (would've expected one for 2 bdrm/2 bath "vacation rental"), very uncomfortable beds (2 of the 3, one where you could feel the springs and the other like sleeping on a bag of flour), views out every window of parking lots, poor building construction so people upstairs sound like elephants. Would not stay again.
My wife and I spent two nights here while visiting Hilo and Volcanoes National park. The property was adequate for what we needed and the price was just right. Check-in was very easy and the property had a convenient location. The beds were smaller than expected, but comfortable. Overall, we would return.
I realize I didn't read the description as carefully as I should have. You enter the property directly into a bedroom. The other bedroom is off the dining/living area. There is a refrigerator but no kitchen. There is a table that has coffee pot, toaster and some tableware. No sink, so everything has to be washed in bathrooms.
Modern, updated unit with nice furniture, beds and linens. Easy to find and access. Central Hilo location. Our otherwise excellent stay was disturbed by rude guests upstairs talking loudly, smoking outside our window and stomping around when we were trying to sleep. I would recommend this unit if you are looking for a nice, two bedroom place to stay in Hilo.
Quaint and comfortable stay in the middle of Hilo town. Complimentary amenities, including a pack and play, to make traveling with an infant so much easier! Owner was great with communication and even adjusted pricing to match another listing.
Your accommodations were beautiful. Got confused on the location of entry key pad. One call and you were very helpful. The only issue was the gob of long black hair in the bottom of your beautiful shower. Taught 2 taxis drivers your location. Stan's taxi was awesome!
Place was great for a quick stop. A bit warm in the bedrooms with the ac unit in the living room. Easy to find and great location for Volcano National Park

Wonderful property! The setup of the unit we stayed in was perfect and well kept up. We were pleasantly surprised it came with a fridge, microwave, etc, as it was not in the description. The communication from the management and owners was quick and pleasant. I am definitely recommending the location to family and friends.
It worked out well to be close to town. I didn't like that it said no drinking, that should have been disclosed before. Also no kitchen.
