If you want to feel like you’re in the rainforest, but also want to be close to town, then this is for you! It’s very close to Old Town Hilo, but doesn’t feel it at all. It’s very pretty and well equipped. Beds sleep great. Great directions for parking and checking in which was done through pictures. Would recommend again and again!
The rental is a studio with bathroom but no cooking capability ( toaster, minifridge, and microwave though). Host was very responsive and set us up with plates, bowls upon request. Outside the room it is like jungle with coqui frogs chirping all night. We loved the sound, so didn't bother us. Size of space is really only suitable for 2. Location was perfect- close to town and only 45 min to Volcanoes National Park. Would stay here again! Location
Amazing location that is close to town but feels removed. The room is very private. It is part of the rest of the house, but doesn't feel like it. The space was perfect in that it was comfortable and provided us everything we needed. It was clean, the only problem was a strong odor. We noticed it when we walked in every time and it seemed to come and go, at times stronger than other times. We were thinking it may be coming from the bathroom drain and since the bathroom walls are open up top it made the whole room smell. Hopefully it is something that can be fixed because we would stay there again if it weren't for the smell.
Beautiful scenery, amazing neighborhood, comfortable bed, comfy couch, smart TV, great shower, peaceful as heck. Easy to find and easy to park. Truly 11/10. Mahalo from Honolulu.

Great stay in a quiet area and a few minutes ride to the center of Hilo. I loved the greenery views and the sounds of what felt like the rain forest. The bed was quite comfortable, A/C was solid, and easy communication with the host. I would definitely stay here again!

I was on a work trip, and even though i only stayed here one night, it was beautifully peaceful one. i wish i would've stayed my whole trip. What a beautiful spot i never knew was here before!
Extremely clean, beautifully decorated, very comfortable, we walked to downtown Hilo from the house. The hosts are extremely kind and helpful. They lent us umbrellas on a rainy night, were very responsive, and made us feel very comfortable in their home. I would definitely recommend!!!!

This place was perfect for my husband and I during our recent trip to Hilo! Hannah made the arrival instructions extremely easy. The place was exactly like the photos. It was clean and has everything we needed - coffee, towels, shampoo/conditioner. It was easy getting in and out of the neighborhood. Hannah was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here if we are in the area again!
Central location in Hilo in a cute residential neighborhood next to a stream. It reminds me of my childhood in Honolulu. And honestly much nicer and more comfortable than nearby hotels in my opinion. The car is just a few steps away from your door which I love since I just want to get in and get out when traveling. Hannah was very kind to send communication to coordinate check in time. I definitely plan to stay at this room again in the future if Hannah continues to host it. Enjoy your time in Hilo!!
The apartment is so lovely and Hannah is the most thoughtful hosts imaginable. Even discussing the import of orchids to the US with me, and putting me in direcct touch with her brother who does it often. Every detail is thoughtful, and it was cleaner than just about any room (hotel or homestay) I have ever been in. Lovely decor, great location near downtown Hilo, while being quiet and peaceful except for the sound of the river, the rain (it is Hilo) and the frogs. Thank you Hannah and I will return.
This little place was perfect for what we needed. Everything was in working order. Great hideaway spot with all the foliage in the back yard. Well done!
We were in town for the weekend and this was the perfect place to stay. It is close to town and the Bayfront, but set apart so you can return to a relaxing place to rest. At night the Coqui Frogs are singing, and I loved it listening to them all, but in your room, it isn’t as noticeable as outside. The instructions for check in are very easy to follow with photos. Check out is as simple as a text. And if you need anything, they are very responsive and helpful! If you need a small studio to stay, this is it. The photos are exactly what you will see and the inclusions described are what you will find. It is nice, sufficiently furnished and functional, it thought the bed was comfy and the view of the jungle was nice - and it was clean and well cared for. I really don’t have any negative things to say. The ONLY “warning” would be that the bathroom walls are open at the top so anyone in the room can hear you in there and it has a barn door with a gap in it so a person can see the toilet through it if they enter the room or walk to it. But if you are by the bed or couch, the bathroom door is private enough (visually). The fact that the bathroom wall did not go to the top allowed us to chat as we took a shower to plan our day, so it did not bother us. The shower is also nice and big. And if the gap in the door really makes you uncomfortable, a beach towel would fix the problem. Thank you for a wonderful stay and being so accommodating. We had a great time!

A little oasis on a quaint street with stunning forest views. We loved our stay here! Listening to the birds & the frogs sing added to the ambiance. Just minutes from downtown Hilo. Our host was gracious, helpful & we enjoyed our stay at this lovely location!
Great escape into the jungle. We loved the sounds of the frogs and crickets. On clear nights, the stars were beautiful. Linens and towers were clean. The room was spacious and lots of areas for storage. We had a small hiccup during check-in but our host was quick to remedy the issue and reimbursed us for one night. Communication with the host was quick! We would love to stay again.
