The host was welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The place was very lovely, comfortable, spacious and felt like home. If you want a fancy hotel, this is not that but it is not advertised or priced as such. Well stocked kitchen, nice dining table and big sofa and TV. We didn't use the hot tub as it was too warm outside, but we did use and enjoyed the outdoor shower. There is no AC, but except for the middle of the afternoon, we were fine without it- everything cooled off at night. I am not sure what it would be like in the summer, however- we were there in December. We liked the location, close to several beaches. Lovely Lanai seating area with dining table, lounge chairs and plenty of space to hang up wet clothing and towels. Neighborhood felt very safe. I would stay here again!

Kimo’s felt like home away from home. Comfortable and breezy. The sunset view was a treat. Jim was great too - friendly and welcoming. We would be happy to stay here again.

Our host was excellent and easy to get in touch with. He was also great at helping us decide what things to see and where to go. The apartment was lovely and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our two week stay. He provided off-street parking as well. The grounds around his house were fabulous and we loved sitting on the lanai and watching the Pacific Ocean. We also loved the hot-tub and the outdoor shower.

House wasn’t clean. Dishes had dead bugs on them and the house was really ran down! Don’t stay here!
This is a beautiful place to stay. Exceptionally clean, well stocked, quiet neighborhood, and a very nice view from the lanai. But beware, there is no a/c. We missed that on the listing and the surprise was not pleasant. But the owner is great and the fans in the house helped us through.

We LOVED this property! This was our probably 10th time on the island and we’ve stay so many different places. We all agreed this was by far our favorite spot. So relaxing and convenient and Jim was the most excellent host ever! Can’t wait to return next year!

We had a fantastic stay at Jim’s apartment on the Kona coast. The amenities of the property were as listed, and made for a very comfortable stay for our family of three adults staying on the Big Island. We especially enjoyed breakfast and coffee on the outdoor patio, and the spacious yard. Jim was a fantastic host, with great communication and was easily accessible as needed. I would recommend to any friends, and hope to be able to stay again.on a future visit to Hawaii!

Jim was a beyond welcoming host- he met us after unloading our car and showed us all around the property. It’s well-stocked with beach gear and towels. The kitchen was fun to cook in and Jim had all of the necessary equipment on hand. The outdoor shower was a dream come true. My only regrets are not staying longer and forgetting to leave a six pack formUim :)
Very quiet and clean. Jim was always there when we needed him but definitely gave appropriate privacy.
This place was so Awesome, you can't go wrong here. We came to Kona for our 40th Anniversary and this place couldn't have been better. It was wonderful and peaceful for the most part. You can hear the neighbors and the traffic but the view and the room were so awesome the closeness to other people didn't really matter. The host was wonderful and informative about the area and we will definitely book this room if available the next time we come. No AC but at night it cools enough with the windows open and the fans going to be very comfortable. Can't say enough wonderful things about this room.

Great location for a quick overnight stay. Checking in was quick and easy. Accommodation was spacious and had everything we needed. There is even a free roaming chicken that came to visit. We would stay again.
Wonderful place! Beautifully decorated and impeccably clean throughout. Really lovely common kitchen/dining/living room area. Bedrooms are cozy and comfy. Worked great for me, my college-aged daughter and teenaged son since my daughter and I shared the room with the adjoining twin beds. Sleeping configuration would also work well for a couple with young kids or 2 couples. Jim is an amazing host -- affable, helpful, really kind. We'd definitely stay here again.
Jim fixed or replaced an inoperable grinder and gave me a tour of the property the morning after we checked in. There’s an outdoor shower and a hot tub. There’s also a view of the ocean from the patio. It was perfect
