Kitchen and Laundry was more than anyone can expect. I can’t think of one item that was overlooked. The owner thought of everything you could need and want. Unbelievably clean and very well decorated and maintained. This is a must stay for a family if you are looking to relax in a quiet atmosphere and a short walk to the beach.

The home was lovely. It was well organized and very clean. The owners made us feel welcome, communicated well, and even provided a few snacks and some water bottles. Any questions we had were answered. They even have a great binder full of resources for our stay from things to do and recommended restaurants. Our location was very close to the beach so we could walk there every day. The Aloha spirit was definitely felt.
This property is so beautiful! The pictures don't do it justice. The owners have thought of everything! There were 9 of us (6 adults, 1-17, 1-15, and 1-7 year old). Walking distance to the beaches, with all the chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards, and wagons we needed. It is a good location to go to either the north shore or up the mountain. Access to the health club was a big plus! The pool there was great there! The owners were so quick to respond to any questions we had and they provided excellent instructions and points of interest/restaurants on the island. The ocean view from the home is magnificent, and the gazebo was our favorite gathering place for morning coffee and meals. Our entire family would recommend this home to anyone and hope that we are able to come back some day soon!
Monas property is PRISTINE!!! I mean PERFECT! The views are better than the photos and the house is immaculate and well appointed! She thought of EVERYTHING with this VRBO!!!! Anything and everything you could think of was there ready for us! tons of spices too !!! YOu will NOT be disappointed!
We stayed at this home for a week and it was truly one of the best vacation homes I’ve ever stayed at. The thoughtfulness that went into everything from a note with goodies to greet us, all the bathrooms with a huge supply of shampoo/soap, the kitchen full of any tool you need, beach gear and the overall beauty of the home and decor was unmatched. The home was a big part of our love for this incredible island. We will be back!!
The house was amazing! So relaxing, clean, comfortable and close to the beach. Mona was fabulous! She setup an actual crib for our grand baby, had a highchair ready for us, the yard with gazebo was perfect for hanging out and having dinner. Off the charts amazing place to stay! Mona was wonderful to communicate with and made our stay perfect.
This house is a paradise! It is clean, beautifully furnished, and well equiped with everything for cooking. The magic is the cozy feel, inside and outside. My son and his family lived in the main house, my husband and I took the suite below. We had both privacy and together time. Every meal was outside in the comfy, beautiful, lighted gazebo. Views from the house, yard, and gazebo all featured ocean, mountains, and flowering, colorful plumeria trees. We all continually said it couldnt have been more perfect. We took the provided boogie boards and snorkels in the wagon and walked to the neighborhood beaches. One section had exciting waves to ride, the other side was calm for snorkeling. We saw so many colorful fish of all shapes and sizes, including the humuhumunukunukuapua'a! The special treat was watching the sea turtles come in to rest on the beach! Another bonus was the athletic club membership. Teenagers worked out, swam, played bocce ball, and everyone including us grandparents, laughed at ourselves enjoying the water slides. Our Ohana vacation was full of the Aloha spirit that was present in this incredible paradise home! We are grateful for the treasured memories!
Travelled with family of six and 1 family friend. From booking to check out, Mona was an effective and excellent communicator. The property speaks for itself, wonderfully clean and inviting, short walk to the beach and easy access to Koloa/Poipu shopping and dining. Kitchen was well kitted with a variety of appliances and quality cookware, views were splendid, Plumerias were abounding and the grounds were well kept. We made use of the snorkeling and body board gear nearly every day. If relaxing with family or friends in Poipu is a priority, then Hale Ohana Poipu is a great location option.
Words and pictures don't do this house justice. We had an incredible stay, and everyone had the best time. Everything from the house's layout, unique design, and cleanliness to the amazing location and walkability made for a vacation we will remember forever. We could walk to the beach and go tide pooling—everything that we wanted to do was just steps from the house. I can't say enough good things about the host, property, and location. The attention to detail here is amazing. All was thoughtfully presented and impeccably arranged, plus this place was well stocked with Hawaii appropriate items for our stay such as beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, beachwagons, and beach toys. Mona had provided a nice array of fruit and snacks, plus the separate apartment downstairs was so helpful for the noisy little ones in our party. We particularly enjoyed the hot outdoor shower, the tropical evening comfort of the gazebo and nice selection of fun board games. Highly recommended!
The house was amazing for an extended family trip. Everyone one had enough space to spread out. The house was spotless and the amenities were very thoughtful. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone. Great communication with the host too.
We came with the family of eight and rented the entire place. The owners went above and beyond and every area to make sure we felt comfortable and was readily available in the event that we had any questions. The beds were super comfortable. All the little extras, like snacks, pineapple, gift, baskets, snorkeling, gear, boogie boards, sand, toys, beach towels, beach chairs. They really thought about everything. It was just a short walk to one of the best beaches in Kauai. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for everything, and for making our trip.
Thank you Mona for the fabulous stay at your lovely home in Poipu! The property was fantastic and the home had everything that we needed for 2 families of 4 during our Spring Break. This is by far the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at, and the attention to detail was evident in every room. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook at home. The house included everything you could need for the beach such as beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards which our kids really enjoyed. The bathrooms were well equipped with shower supplies and hair dryers and even a straightener ladies! The laundry was an absolute game changer considering how many outdoor activities we did, and providing laundry detergent was a really nice bonus! The outdoor shower was great for getting sand off but really was a full service shower that we ended up using every day. Overall our stay was perfect and we were very happy with the location in Poipu. A quick 5 minute walk to the local beach plus the athletic club with its pool made it feel like a resort. The gazebo was a perfect spot to sip coffee. All of the different activities we did were an easy drive from this central location. We didn’t even need to research in advance because Mona had a book with everything we could need to look up for restaurants, shopping, beaches and more including the family history of the property and renovation photos! Overall a fantastic experience and we hope to return some day!
If I could give this a 12/10 I would. We were a mixed family of uncles, aunts upstairs and our young adults enjoyed the adjoined space downstairs. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of towels, beach gear, great outdoor patio and all within walking distance to the beach! Great communication with owners. Seriously one of the nicest VRBO we have stayed at. We hope to be back some day!
Fantastic, beautiful renovated property a short walk to the beach. Most fully equipped , well thought out VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. Perfect inside and out , with well manicured yard and lighted large gazebo overlooking the ocean sunsets. Hosts were there for us before and during our stay. Will definitely be back again.

Truly hard to put into words how much we adored Mona’s beautiful home. We are VRBO hosts ourselves and were blown away with how well thought out every single detail in this home is. I’ll start with the location- It is steps from EVERYTHING. We walked to the beach daily, hiking trailheads, amazing dinner spots, etc. Our rental car sat in the driveway for full days as we found we could walk everywhere. Cleanliness- the home is spotless, brand new everything. Absolutely everything worked as it should. It included SO many thoughtful amenities and details- a wagon to take items to the beach, books to read my boys at bedtime, games for our family to play together, snorkel sets and water shoes. Dont look anywhere else in Kauai (we certainly won’t…). This is THE place to stay. We are so grateful to have found this beautiful, special home. Thank you Mona and family!!
We travel a lot and this house was one of the best property’s we have all ever stayed at! Mona was very easy to communicate with and so helpful! We were welcomed with some sweet treats and things to remember our trip to Kauai! The house was stocked with anything and everything you would need! Can’t wait to come back and visit again we were not in Kauai for long enough! We will be back and would love to stay at this property again!
Our host anticipated our every need. From the kitchen to the beach toys, we had everything we needed. The view was more majestic in person. The photos do not do it justice. The outdoor space was perfect. We loved eating breakfast and dinner on the patio.

This house is the most well-curated, thoughtful, beautiful home I’ve rented on the island. Everything was done with intention, the space is cozy, but spacious with the most incredible views, especially of the sunset. We spent every night and every morning in the gazebo. Not to mention, the hospitality of the owner Mona was above and beyond. She was communicative, quick to respond and attentive. You can tell how much she cares about her renters and the home. Will definitely be staying here again!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The house has a full 180 degree view of the ocean, is located very close to the beach, and very well stocked with all your kitchen needs, baby/toddler needs (Full sized crib with sheet, high chair, booster chair, baby monitor), and beach gear. Mona is very attentive and made sure to check in with us several times and make sure everything was going well. Thanks for all the welcome goodies and a wonderful stay!

My husband and I along with our 4 children and 2 significant others celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and stayed at the house for 10 days. It exceeded our expectations! From the location to the amenities and all of the homey touches we all agreed that it was the nicest rental property we have ever been to! If we are able to come back in our future we wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
Our whole family, inclusive of our two young grandkids stayed at this amazing home for ten days. From the moment we entered the home, we felt welcomed and excited to stay in such a gorgeous home with ocean views and a rich family history. It’s spacious and well appointed and a very short walk to the beach where we saw several sea turtles. There are so many wonderful details that we loved about this place especially the gazebo and the outdoor shower. Our host, Mona is the BEST! Mahalo for the great memories and hospitality!
Mona was fabulous to work with and delightful. The property was spotless and well located for our purposes. The athletic club was close by and fun for our grandkids--just about any game desired was available here. We particularly enjoyed having our meals out in the gazebo. I wish we had booked an extra day or two on this island! Highly recommend this property. (Note: the en-suite bath in the upstairs area has no shower which was noted in the info on the website. This requires working around but was not a problem for us.) Kitchen was the best equipped in any property we have stayed at!!! We are grandparents who took our 7 oldest grandkids to Hawaii for a couple of weeks and this property helped us have a great start to the trip.
Beautiful home within walking distance to Poipu beach. Views of Poipu beach and sunsets from the kitchen window! This house was appointed with every item you will need when traveling. The beach accessories made this visit easy. The owner also left a beautiful welcome basket of snacks, illustrating her desire to go above and beyond. This is the best home we have rented in 10 years! I give it 6 stars out of 5.
I don't know if I can describe the things this house did for us. We are regular Kauai travelers annually for well over a decade. We are very familiar with the island.
This is the first time I've tried to incorporate my extended family, including my 75-year old father who was leaving the US for the first time since coming over from Vietnam in the late 1970s. The multiple bedrooms and air conditioning in each room made sure everyone was comfortable, the amenities were modern and updated, and the location was spot on especially if you have little ones, roughly 15-20 minutes from the keiki Brennecke Beach. The Poipu Athletic Club subscription was another requirement of ours, as we would spend our mornings at a public beach and the afternoons enjoying being catered here.
More importantly, I don't have if I can describe the memories generated by waking up at 7 AM with that 180 degree up and down the Poipu Beach coastline, or sitting out on the amazing comfortable large gazebo with a homemade dinner with your family as the sun is setting. It is truly a rarity to have the ability to have your extended family under the same roof.
In short, I want to thank the owners of this home. There will be a time when the kids are older or my dad won't be with us any longer - but we will still have the memories this home helped us make. Thank you again, these things are priceless.
The property feels like home. They provide brand name amenities for soaps/shampoos/lotions showing that thought and care are put into every detail. The outdoor gazebo is the game changer here to other rentals. All guests can be together without invading a living space of anyone. Would definitely rent here again.
