Plantation Cottage is a bit of old Kauai with modern updates to the kitchen and bath. The front porch was a shaded haven for relaxation. The kitchen was well outfitted, beds were comfortable, there were lots of fans to assist the nearly constant breezes. Great location for families with small children; easy walk to Poipu Beach. The rental company and maintenance are very responsive. The huge monkey pod tree in front hosts a variety of birds. The landscaping is diverse and abundant. The property has a second rental cottage. Two other buildings are used daily by the friendly owner, who lives nearby. During our stay this was not a problem for us, but it might be for those seeking more privacy.
Almost perfect beyond words but I’ll try. Best stay on the island yet (5th visit). We’ve stayed all over the island and we’ve found our paradise. Steps from the ocean yet somehow secluded in the busiest part of the island. We cooked every night on the verandah and bookie boarded past sunset every day. I can’t wait until we meet again Plantation House! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!
This is a classic old Hawaiian home one block from the beach. Well located and well furnished. It's not new and shiny and condo perfect, it's a home, which we loved.

Our family of four enjoyed everything about the cottage and stay in Lokoa. The owner was very kind and helpful. The accommodations were well thought out. He included beach towels and chairs, buggy boards, and fresh mangos and bananas. We loved the front porch and outdoor shower. All the locals we spoke with were friendly and helpful. We rented bikes from the e-bike place a stones throw away and had a fun ride. Poipu beach was our favorite. The ceiling fans were a godsend. We found some great local restaurants on Rice street. Kauai is a magical paradise and Montgomery’s cottage is fantastic.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Plantation Cottage. Perfect, quiet location. It has everything you need and gives a very relaxing island vibe. I could sit on the lanai and listen to the random sprinkle and birds all day. Gorgeous Monkey Pod tree provides nice shade to keep the home cool. The outdoor shower was a great amenity after a day at the beach. We especially loved visiting the outdoor cat, Oni Oni. There is also a mango tree that we enjoyed a couple fresh mangos from. If we come back to south Kauai we'd definitely stay here again!

Paradise in paradise! This place was gorgeous from the beautiful layout and the incredible Banyon tree outside. The accessibility of the beach at the end of the road - the location was perfect - for a family of 5 this was the ultimate place to stay would absolutely come back here!

Plantation Cottage is a wonderful place. My wife and I have been to Kauai multiple times, and we love Poipu Beach. We always look for rental properties on Pane Road due to the location and Plantation Cottage fits that bill.The Cottage itself is fine but it might be a bit outdated. The fan in one of the bedrooms is quite noisy and so is the bed. The family room furniture definitely needs an upgrade and also the TV. A smart TV would be nice so you can stream from your personal device.A few things to know about this rental. There are more buildings/houses on the property and there could be more renters. We stayed for 2 weeks and had no renters, but the owner kept coming at all times every day. I know it’s his property and he can come and go as he pleases, but if we had known, I would not have rented this place. You rent a house because you want privacy. Again, other renters would be ok, since you’d have known and both parties would have been on the same level, but the owner coming by constantly is just not what you’d expect.Another thing not mentioned in the description; the owner has a cat living on the property; I’m not a cat person and I don’t want a cat on my lanai table during lunch or dinner. It starts “asking for food” in the morning and begs on the lanai.Having said that, we enjoyed the place to the fullest and the owner is very friendly and drops fresh fruit at the Lanai, he also brought new Beach chairs. Kauai, Brennecke’s and Poipu Beach are still my favorite spots.

This is our 15th year staying in the Plantation Cottage and looking forward to 2025. Great location and we love the retro setting and architecture. I feed the birds each day and watch the Myna, red crested Cardinals, Northern Cardinals, Rock Dove, Stripped Dove and Java Sparrows, not to mention Kauai's Chickens. Watching the star studded sky while using the outdoor shower is a highlight.
My family loved this home. It is so close to the beaches and very good location to get to other activities on the island. We had an amazing stay!

We spend a month each year in late winter in Poipu. This cottage is our go to place. It has 2 nice bedrooms and one small one (a single bed). My wife and I stay here and rent the one next door for our family. It is well equipped and has new appliances in the kitchen. We love that it has a covered porch (yes sometimes it rains on Kauai). It's a short walk to Brennecke's Beach where we ofter view the sunset.

The Plantation Cottage near Poipu Beach is GREAT! It was perfect for our nephew, niece and their two young children, with 3 connecting bedrooms and comfy, kid-friendly living room and porch. And just a very short walk to Brennekee and Poipu beaches. A great house and great value.

Good experience overall. Close to the beach, beach chairs and snorkel equipment there to use. We bought a bucket with shovels etc and left for future families. Walls are thin so you have to be quiet after kids are asleep. I wish we would have known about laundry access, would have made our trip so much better as there are no close laundromats near by. I found a key hanging by the back door labeled "laundry" on our last morning there. Kitchen well stocked with appliances. The beds do make a lot of noise just rolling over on them. Otherwise great experience. The woman staying in the back house of lot was friendly and helpful. There is a bar very close by with live music which can be loud at night but the fans mainly blocked out the noise even with windows open. Thank you for letting us stay at your property!
If you want to stay in the heart of Poipu but not have to be in a hotel/condo this is a great house option. It's small and simple but feels legit-Hawaiian in the best of the ways. Location is fantastic.
