Loved the location and the resort amenities!
The stove top worked fine. There were several buttons on the oven control (including time setting) that do not work. Several of the bulbs in the kitchen/living room were burnt out and needed to be replaced. The support staff responded quickly to replace. Not all the bulbs were working even after they came but much improved. The curtain/shade for the living room sliding glass door were not functioning well/at all. Most of the shade where it was supposed to be attached (at the top) were not connected. (Needs to be repaired.) The wifi issues were quickly resolved when support staff came to assist. The second bedroom (did not have AC) was very warm, and could have used some better ventilation. The shared bathroom shower lever needs maintenance. We thoroughly enjoyed the resort and condo, but the place needs a little TLC. Thank you!
The unit is well-equipped with kitchen and beach supplies, and the surrounding property is very-well maintained and ideally situated next to the ocean and walking distance to shops. Our kids enjoyed the ground-floor and the ease of playing on the grass/at the pool.
Cons: the place was a little untidy upon arrival and we had to do some light cleaning (mopping/dusting), and showing some wear and tear (broken lights, curtains, broken kettle, etc.). The backroom has no A/C and was quite hot at night even with the little fan provided. We pointed out all these things to management on our departure, and they seemed receptive to the feedback.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay. We've been to the Papakea several times now and would definitely return to this unit again. Thanks for hosting us!

The location was awesome, great access to the pool, and the kitchen was well equipped. We also appreciated all of the beach supplies.
However, the TV in the main living area was tiny, and the 2nd bathroom had a few issues. The faucet was wobbly and the knob to turn on the shower was missing.
Also, their was no actual air unit in the 2nd bedroom, and the screen door was off the tracks and did not work. We also had issues with the freezer.
The customer service that we received from My Perfect Stays was truly exceptional. We had some logistical issues upon arrival to Maui, and Zac from My Perfect Stays went above and beyond to sort everything out. He checked in on us to make sure that we were comfortable, and if we had any concerns, he was always available. We would certainly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip to Maui.
The location at Papakea was also so, so wonderful. The place was clean and well-stocked with items ranging from beach towels to a rice cooker that made our week-long stay comfortable and convenient. Small details go a long way, and that was certainly the case for My Perfect Stays -- from complimentary kona coffee to spotlessly clean bathrooms.
The resort was right in front of the ocean and beautifully maintained. It's quiet and peaceful, and you hear the ocean waves and birds chirping right outside the window. (One thing that I loved about this place was the relaxed environment -- it's family friendly, and people are quietly lounging by the ocean, strolling along the beach at sunrise, sipping coffee and reading on their balconies; no loud yelling and partying. We left this place feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.) There are also multiple pools and jacuzzis on the property so you don't have to worry about things getting crowded. The maintenance staff was also very friendly and helpful.
This place was so beautiful that we spent a couple of days just hanging out at the resort, playing in the pools and watching the sunset right outside our door. No need to drive to the beach (although if you do, it's a pretty short drive -- the location is very convenient.)
This property was better than advertised. Everything you need for a worry free stay. I couldn't ask for another more. Thanks for a great stay.
Clean, great location, very responsive and easy to communicate.
Overall we had a great stay. The rooms were clean, beautiful grounds, and easy parking. The master bedroom and family room air conditioning worked well. However the back bedroom did not have air conditioning so it was warm. There was a fan that helped. Also very nice to have beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards provided. Kitchen also had plenty of items to allow for making meals.
Had just about everything we needed and the location was so perfectly located we didn’t really need our car once we got there. The pools were great. Loved being on the bottom floor. About as close to the Pacific Ocean as possible. We would consider ourselves lucky to be able to stay there again!
Second year in a row at this condo. The location of the condo and the property is amazing. A little disappointed this year with the cleanliness, but overall an incredible time.
