We stayed here for 3 nights and this was the second time we stayed here. The house is amazing and allows visitors to live more like a local than a tourist. The beds are comfortable and the amenities exceptional. The grill was great to cook on and the lanai super relaxing. I didn't think it would be even better the second time but it was!

This was a great space for all of us to stretch out and be comfortable after a full day of exploring. The nature sounds were peaceful and easy to go to sleep to. The lanai was amazing!

Overall, it’s a nice clean house, but really there’s no comfortable chair or couch to sit on in the living room to watch the TV. The couches a futon with the springs popping out in the two chairs he had were not comfortable to sit in. Don’t get me wrong I’m a 6 foot three man so it’s hard for me to find a comfortable chair. Overall nice place good shopping center up the street about 5 miles good food at the Black rock Café. Just kind of far from Hilo and lots of traffic to get to it in and out.

We came to explore the island trails (hiking and snorkeling) and did much driving (1 to 2.5 hours each way a day) and hiking so our time at the rental was limited to sleeping and eating, showering, doing laundry (a fantastic outdoor sink to clean gear) and using the WiFi (great signal). Everything worked well for our needs. We appreciated the owner’s response time to one of our requests and their generosity in supplying masks, snorkels, chairs etc for our water time explorations. Watching the volcano erupt at Volcano National Park was a highlight of our trip. Many thanks to the owners for sharing their home with us.

This is a very unique experience we all had. Chirping birds, abundant greenscape, large windows with good cross ventilation, thoughtful amenities throughout. 7 min walk to the ocean. 10 min drive to shopping area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The home was exactly as advertised. It was a nice place for my wife and I to enjoy some time away.
It was a bit further from Pahoa than we expected, and having to bring our own water for drinking was inconvenient, but overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and used the snorkeling equipment.

The house was the perfect size. Definitely needs some updating.... from beds to fridge. No A/C was rough. Yard was beautiful with lots of wilderness and wildlife around to view.

The area was ok and the lanai was lovely. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms. It was very warm and there was an off putting smell in the house. We took pictures of the less than clean bathrooms and some other areas. If this had been a hotel, we would not have stayed, but we felt stuck having booked the place for 6 nights. Our second vrbo for the second half of the trip feels like a breath of fresh air.

We had a relaxing time away from crowds of thousands purists at this home. There is a nice shopping area a few miles away and Hilo is a 30 minute drive with the big city feel. This home was situated between the volcanoes and the waterfalls with some nice swimming places in Hilo. Lovely out of the touristy way, vacation. Feel like an islander.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay...particularly the rear deck where we had our meals and utilized the provided gas grill as well as enjoyng our morning coffee surrounded by wildlife. The property is an older one and has many pluses and amenites, however, it could benefit from some updating.
It is well located, easy to explore Pahoa from this base. Thank you for sharing your home .

I’m finally getting around to writing this review. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home had everything to meet our needs for a honeymoon and vow renewal. We had a little kitten that visited us each day, chickens that woke us each morning, and even a few visits from wild boars. The house is dated and could use some deep cleaning as it had a weird smell for the duration of our stay. The hosts were very responsive, and we loved being in Pahoa, away from all of the tourist. We were able to drive around the island every day. There is a beautiful park with spectacular cliffs and photo opportunities a short walk away. Definitely take advantage of it. Thanks for great memories.
