We had a great time , location was brilliant. Walk to restaurants. The view was stunning and something always happening off shore. We ate out every night so didn’t use the cooking facilities. Plenty of plates etc.
Our family enjoyed this apartment thoroughly. Everything was as mentioned in the description. Location was fantastic with a view to the sea; impeccable. We knew that there wasn’t a beach to swim in front of us so there’s nothing to say about it. It was nice to walk on the lava stones that’s the shore, but it’s impossible to swing there at least not for tourists. We enjoyed watching the surfers every morning and watching the waves. We actually stayed while we had that tsunami warning and the manager Kenneth even sent us immediately a message what we could consider doing. That was very much appreciated. Apartment amenities are super. There are lots of things for the beach that one could use. Dishwasher and washing machine are working well and the beds are very comfortable. Internet connection is super fast. Thank you and if we were to come back, we would certainly choose the same place.
We loved Kona and loved the property. Excellent property manager, communication, great parking, convenient location.I gave 4 stars b/c mild musty smell (went away as soon as we opened up some doors), some of the things like couch cushions, cabana pad, coffee pot and bath towels need replacing, and the microwave was a little dirty. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, kitchen with good cooking amenities, but by far and away the best was the lanai, the ocean sounds, the sunsets, and the view!
This is a perfect location and condo as its just a short walk to resturants and stores, etc.Loved the condo itself. I fell asleep every night to the sound of the waves hitting the shore, so relaxing. And the deck on third floor has incredible views on the ocean. We are going to stay here again.

We loved the view. We ate on the balcony and loved watching the surfers and waves. The condo is walking distance to downtown Kona with plenty of places to eat. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in addition to four BBQ's near the pool. The pool is small and very nice. There are a lot of retired residents who are at the pool most of the day that live there. The A/C worked great in the two bedrooms and living room. They had a boogie board, chairs, board games, cards. The snorkel gear is very limited...I recommend you bring or buy your own. The condo could use a good deep cleaning session. The two kings were nice. All three televisions worked. We had a great stay.
Incredible view from the lanai! We loved our stay. Location is very convenient— walking distance to restaurants and shops. Would absolutely stay here again.
We were mere feet from the ocean, and had an ocean side pool. It was within walking distance of everything! The place was amazing! Would definitely recommend to everyone!
Great view and location. The kitchen was well appointed with a lot of spices and different food items that made cooking dinner much easier. We didn’t have to buy every ingredient.
We have stayed here several times! Love the view of the ocean, location, and the new floors and king-size beds. The decor is beautiful and it was nice to have a cooler, pool noodles, beach chairs, and a well equipped kitchen.

We stayed here for 2 weeks during the Iron Man World Championships, and it couldnt have been any greater. Location was excellent. Our kids loved the pool. The beach toys, chairs, and snorkels/masks were great to have. Kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the pay iy forward cupboard.
My husband and Ichose this condo based on the description, and were not disappointed a bit. It's beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the perfect location. We had a total of 19 family members come to celebrate with us, 5 of us stayed at this property, and we by far chose the best. The owner was quick to get back to us with questions before our stay. We highly recommend this property.
The unit is just like the pictures. The complex is very nice with beautiful pool/spa and BBQ area. It is an easy few minutes' walk into Kona town but is still quiet. There is a nice surfer beach just south of the complex that is very nice. Good surf many surfers.
We’ve stayed at the Kona reef probably close to 15 times over the years in various units and enjoyed them all ,but this unite’s overall decor was simply beautiful,..almost afraid to walk on the teak flooring when first entering the unit lol
Very well appointed with everything you’d need for your visit ., we both agreed that overall d-38 was our favorite unit to date .,very clean and inviting.
We loved the privacy and views of the 4 th floor lanai .

The location is amazing! We were right on the water and woke up to the most beautiful ocean views every morning. We also loved how we could walk to everything in downtown Kona in 5-10 minutes. The kids loved going to the pool which was located on the property and there is a beach right next door. The unit had everything we needed included lots of extra beach stuff. The unit was also very clean.
Condo is located right off the ocean shore! Amazing views, easy to walk to many Kona activities, calm atmosphere. Clean, had all amenities we needed. Pool was great. Would definitely stay again!
Wonderful stay, in a lovely oceanfront condo.
I wish we would have had more downtime on our vacation but one of the best things was waking up and sitting on the lanai and drinking coffee in the morning and watching the waves and ocean activity. Very nicely appointed condo which had everything we needed including snorkle gear! Very happy with the condo and would definately stay here again if traveling to Kona!

This property was clean and has a beautiful ocean view. The unit has plenty of amenities for all the rooms and beach gear. The lanai has very nice furniture and is perfect for watching the sunsets, surfers and whales. It is close to town and is a short walk to a farmers market, shops and restaurants. Free parking is definitely a bonus.
Stayed here for a week, 2 couples plenty of room for all of us. Beds comfy, kitchen had everything to make meals barbq in common area were very clean!! Spent a lot of time on the Lanai Sunsets were Gorgeous! Miss the sound of the waves!!

This is our 3rd stay at the Kona Reef and the second time in this unit. It was great the first time we stayed and it was upgraded before this stay and it is even better.
The location is perfect. On the water so you can sit on the lanai and watch and listen to the waves crash and watch some great boogie boarders. Plus it is only a few minutes easy walk to the Kona waterfront and all of the stores and restaurants and the farmers market.
The lanai was part of the upgrade and the online pictures on VRBO don't show how beautiful it is now. There is a beautiful wood laminated table and matching bar with chairs which make it even lovelier.
Part of the upgrade was also new mini split air conditioning units for the living room/kitchen, and the bedrooms. It allows you to adjust each room to your comfort level.
The Kona Reef itself is a very friendly place. Both residents and visitors have been nice in our 3 visits, and since we come at about the same time every year, we have made friends.
The bottom line is we have already booked to return!
The property is directly on the beach and is perfectly located within a less than 5 minute walk to Kona Town. 5 stars.
The condo was exactly what our family needed. We enjoyed the penthouse and views very much.
