My husband and I are so happy we chose this place. The view from the balcony was amazing. Place was well stocked we did not cook dinner in the kitchenette but enjoyed our coffee on the balcony each morning. Location was perfect we would love to stay here again! Seriously, BOOK THIS!! You WILL NOT be sorry!!!! My husband and I spent 6 nights at this lovely rental and it was amazing. We saw dolphins our first morning! Enjoyed Kona coffee on the balcony every morning and sunsets in the evening. It is walking distance (across the parking lot) to Magic Sands (very popular beach) so if you feel like going to the beach, a short stroll and you’re there! The rental has EVERYTHING you need for a Hawaiian vacation (so go there first and check it out before you buy a bunch of stuff). Location was close to everything and wonderful. Very easy check out! We just loved our stay here!

Great views from room. Room had everything we needed to enjoy our days at the beach. Having Magic’s Grill downstairs was wonderful after a day of exploring. Jan is easy to work with. Building is worn down, needs some updating and clean up. Early mornings of construction and street traffic.
Overall the room is a bit dated, but it has what you would need (and rooms are undergoing renovation). There’s negatives and positives.Positives: GREAT location, right next to magic sands beach and magic sands grill. Just a 5 minute drive to downtown Kona. The amenities such as boogie boards and lounge chairs are much appreciated. It was fantastic being able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves every night, even with the lanai closed. Negatives: The bathroom is very small to where the shower door hits the side of the toilet when opened. The kitchen appliances are old and the toaster smelled like burning rubber and did not work well. There’s a lot of stuff left over in the cabinets that are expired, such as spices and cooking spray. The amount of TV remotes is crazy (at least 5 or 6) and the directions on how to work it are not clear.
Very clean condo with incredible views next to one of the only white sand beaches around! We could not have been happier!

You can watch the fish and turtles surfing the waves from the balcony. And the sunsets are spectacular!
This is the second time we have stayed in this unit, showing a little wear. Super comfortable bed, clean, everything we needed to make breakfast. The complex is getting pretty rundown, and the pool deck is so hot. You can’t even walk on it when you get out of the pool. That was kind of a bummer. Lots of construction going on also. Didn’t bother us , but if you like to sleep in, it could be a problem. Nice to have the restaurant downstairs. Great place for a homebase to travel around the island.
We loved everything about the condo. It had all the supplies you needed. The view from the balcony just amazing. Listening to the waves was incredible and we saw whales and dolphins right from the balcony! Highly recommend this condo for your vacation.
Entire process was super smooth with easy check in.Can't beat the view and first time for us ever finding the sound of the ocean actually too loud! We got used to it and now miss it! We didn't use the pool or local beach as we were away during most days sightseeing... did walk from condo into downtown kona twice. Able to rent blue bikes with a station directly across from condo. Magics grill on site was one of our favourites - very nice to have so handy after a long day.
We loved our stay at Magic Sands. The location was perfect for our daily trips exploring the island. We loved the view from the lanai while sipping our morning coffee as well as our nightly mai tai and listening to the crashing waves. I highly recommend this property.
It was exactly as pictured, and so dreamy!! My *only* suggestion would be to replace / clean the curtains, but otherwise we loved every second of our stay!!
First time to the Big Island. Property was great. Views from the lanai were breath taking. Location was convenient to the things we wanted to do.

We enjoyed our stay here. The condo was the perfect size for a couple. Convenient to everything you may need. The sunsets either from the lanai or from the parks on either side of the complex are fantastic.
Most days were just morning snorkels at 4 Mile or behind the condo and boogie boarding at Magic Sands - both within walking distance.
If we want to go somewhere, it was easy to get in and out of the complex even during the middle of the day.
If you didn't want to go out, we found it easy to make a meal in the condo or break out the grill by the pool - everything we needed to cook was there.
Don't want to cook? Call Magic's Grill, wait 15 minutes, walk downstairs and pick up some good local dishes. We eat carry out on the lanai most nights as we watched the sunset - the place rocks.
We had a marvelous trip and would absolutely stay again. I have a high standard for cleanliness and when we opened the door my first words were “this place is spotless!” My second words were “look at that view!”
We enjoyed sunsets and breakfast on the lanai with the ocean crashing right below, watching the waves lift up dozens of yellow tang!
The apartment is amazingly well-equipped with all kinds of beach gear and we enjoyed being literally steps from the beach. It’s incredible how many useful things they have provided in a small, well-organized space. Snorkels, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, fishing gear, and more, plus a fully equipped kitchen. It is an easy 10 minute drive to Kona town and restaurants, too.
Communication was very fast and easy and the hosts kindly accommodated a late check out that let us enjoy another beach day before our evening flight!

Excellent place to stay with an amazing lanai for gorgeous sunsets every evening! Location perfect for exploring the island, beach next door & great restaurant below. Stocked with basics for cooking, tons of beach gear & plenty of towels. Pool area is really nice. We loved everything about the place! Would definitely stay here again!
Very nice but hot water breaker in electrical box keep tripping ever five minutes when using hot water in shower it needs fixed
Probably one of the best properties in the Kona area if you want to be on the ocean with the ocean views. Property was well described in listing, and found to be very adequate in all respects. Did find the stairs to be a bit of a burden due to age and health. Would have been nice to have a hot shower, but that may be true for the whole building. Loved our ten days at this location and this facility and at a reasonable price.
Enjoyed our stay and will stay again. Location and views were as expected. We go to Hawaii annually, really like the Kona area, but our first stay at this VRBO. Jan was quick to respond when we didn't have hot water. Once we knew it was a breaker issue, we just had to flip it back every few minutes when showering. Minor issue and everything else was great. Thanks.
Oceanfront is impressive. We had nice meals on the balcony, the view and ambiance is unforgettable . Location is perfect for staying in Kona. Magic Sand just disappeared, so we traveled to other places. Nice snorkeling at 4mi bay, walking close to the studio
