This location was perfect for our family of four. Wonderful location just south of Kailua-Kona. Walking distance to one of the best snorkeling spots on the island. Will be returning to this rental for all of my stays on the Kona side!
Condo was comfortable and well-appointed both inside and out, including beach and snorkel gear. The lanai was a great place to relax and watch incredible sunsets and activity on the ocean. The location was convenient, with grocery stores and shopping nearby. We enjoyed our stay here.
This property was immaculate and well appointed with an abundance of thoughtful touches. Terry promptly answered all questions I had (no issues during our stay). Would absolutely stay here again next time we visit Hawai’i!
We loved our week at Hilo Shangrila! The view alone is worth 10 stars. It was so relaxing to sit outside whether drinking coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening watching and listening to the waves crash upon the lava. The home is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was stocked in the kitchen. The neighborhood is extremely quiet. We would absolutely stay there again!!

Terry's unit was beautiful and equipped with everything you could need. Our stay was perfect and communication with Terry was effortless. Highly recommend this location.
We really enjoyed the ocean view and seeing whales and great sunsets everyday. There is however an embankment right in front of the lanai, that hinders the direct line of sight of the ocean view when sitting on the lounge chairs. We also liked the size of the unit and the kitchen was well equipped. The only thing missing was a good frying pan. The owner is very thoughtful when it comes to supplying an abundance of the everyday essential items. Soaps and and shampoos are also in good supply. We also appreciated the welcome basket of local island “goodies”. The major down side of this property is that it is a ground floor unit and the noise coming from the upstairs unit from the tenants walking around was quite annoying especially at 6:45 in the morning. Basically, there appears to be no sound insulation between the units and footsteps are very loud. Another thing to consider is that the traffic to get to Costco, Walmart or Safeway is very heavy every day. Took almost 35 minutes to go 5 miles. The last thing is that there are very limited beaches in the area that you can get any kind of a decent walk on.
We visited during Christmas break, had a great experience. room was comfortable/clean, steps away from ocean, great amenities, close to shopping/food/market.
