Islander on the Beach is a great place to stay on Kauai. It is about wequal distance from Waimea Canyon on the west and Princeville on the north, The property is very nice, and the units are all comfortable. The units do not have ktichens, but the Coconut Marketplace next door has several good(and rasonable) choices for food as well as a small (but pricey) grocery. It is close to the airport. We have stayed there several times and always been happy.
Great location and wonderful condo we have stayed at this location multiple times it is always fantastic.
Love that it is right on the beach. It is half way between the Hanalei and Waimea so if we road trip it isn’t as far.

Jeff’s condo is in a perfect location for exploring the north and south shores. The bed was comfy and the AC worked well. It would have been nice to have a cooler/beach chairs but we ended up getting them along with our car rental so it wasn’t a big deal. Thanks for a great stay on our favorite island!
This is a super convenient location. Don’t plan on cooking in the condo, but you are right next to several great places to eat in or take away from coconut market place. Centrally located to either end of the island.
Beautiful oceanfront property with view from the small 2nd level lanai. The Islander grounds are an arboretum of immaculately maintained tropical plants of various species, colors, sizes. Incredible. Shoreline is sandy, though of a sort that does not enable easy walking. There are beach chairs for long hours of solitude as not many if any people were there at any given time. The pool and hot tub were a nice addition, used for a bit during our last evening (of 4 nights) here.
We had a great time, awesome location Direct oceanview steps from the beach. Highly recommend.
This was a great place to stay right on the beach. Got to watch the sun rise every morning. Right next to the Lava Lava Beach Club for some good food
The condo was well maintained, within walking distance to shopping and dining, has sunrise/ocean views, and direct access to the beach with loungers and outdoor pool/spa. Small kitchenette and flaky TV/AV remotes were the only minor issues. Had a wonderful time!
Host was quick to answer questions. The unit was clean and roomy for an efficiency. The mini kitchen was quite enough for two; including toaster, drip coffee pot, toaster oven, microwave, etc. There wasn’t much counter space, but then we made do. The linens were very nice. There was a gorgeous view. All in all, I couldn’t be happier. One night there were neighbors up above us who were really noisy so i sent a note to the host asking what we could do. He alerted the security at the resort and they were present so no further issues. I do believe that this incident was a rarity and, of course, the hosts don’t always know what they are getting.
The marketplace is in front of the complex so it was easy to go to dinner without driving, or to go to the store and grab fruit for breakfast or dessert to take back after dinner. The Country Market has fresh food made daily to take out or eat at their outside patio.
This is, I believe, the best part of the island to stay as it is on the way to the north shore, close to a falls, just a few minutes from the airport and Target (which seems to be the cheapest place to get groceries), and provides a pretty quick access to the rest of Kauai as well.
There is a nearby beach (Lydgate) which is maybe a half mile away that has a good playground for the kiddies and 2 pools in the ocean that are surrounded by boulders to keep kiddos safe from the surf or even for adults who don’t want to deal with the waves.
I will return!

Location is convenient to the airport, shopping and east-side beaches. Kitchen is tiny, don't plan on cooking a full meal with it. Fortunately there is a communal grill in the pool area but you have to either eat next to the pool or haul all your food back and forth. Other complaint is that we never received a welcome or arrival email with door code. Had to contact manager to get into the unitl
It was near or everything, it was clean, the staff was helpfull and kind. We had great time.
Property very clean. Close to shops and restaurants. I would recommend this property.
While this particular unit is slightly dated, the location and amenities make up for that. The building is on the far side, a stones throw to Lava Lava Beach Club. There is a stairwell right at the beach so it is super easy to go back and forth. There are lounge chairs set up under the trees on the sand so you really don’t even need beach chairs. The kitchenette is perfect since there are multiple gas BBQ units at the pool. The ocean view from the balcony is wonderful. The pool and jacuzzi area is lovely with a tiki bar that opens for happy hour. While the rocks and coral at most of the beach makes it hard to enter and exit, the open spot of just sand is right in front of the building. If you walk down the path to the right where the pathway ends, you will find a small ‘pool’ made out of lava rocks for young swimmers. There is a nice market right behind the complex. This is a super nice affordable place to stay on a very expensive island. We will stay here again! Oh- great AC too!
This was a wonderful area. I felt like we were in the heart of Hawaii. If we ever come back, this will be where we stay.
I loved that the property was near the marketplace full of souvenirs and groceries, which made it walkable. The view from the balcony was amazing as you can see the sunrise. Parking can get full quickly, but after the first night, we didn't have many issues after that. The floor was slightly dusty when entering the property, but overall clean. I would recommend the property.
The property was very much as we expected. We had a very nice view of the ocean from our balcony. The room was very clean and the grounds had very nice landscaping. The location was great, very convenient. The room is part of a large condominium complex.
I loved the location of the property. It’s right by the ocean and next to a lot of shops and restaurants. The room itself was just okay. It’s small and there’s no kitchen. There is a sink, microwave, and a smelly fridge. The bed is pretty high which I was a bit worried about since we had our baby with us. The guests are also expected to empty out the trash cans.
The main issue I had with this place is the owner. First off, the message I received from Jeff Bricker regarding instructions was really unclear and hard to understand because there were all sorts of grammatical errors but we figured it out. He included his phone number in his email and on the information sheet provided in the room, to contact him if we “need anything else.” So I texted him one of the nights at 8:30 because there was, in fact, something we needed: toilet paper. He replied with “Their is a contact number the yellow sheet on the table. I'm not on Island, I'm on the west coast It's 1130pm here”. I don’t know why it was necessary to provide me with the time. It came off very rude. His number should not be the first one listed if he did not want to be the first contact. And there was no follow-up after that text. I was disappointed with the communication with the owner and I will not be staying here again.
