The property felt a bit dusty overall. Although it was recently renovated, leftover construction material was still tucked under the bed along with a lot of dirt. The required damage waiver fee was also disappointing. For the price, I would choose to stay elsewhere.
We really enjoyed staying at Menehune Shores - the unit & building were in great condition, it was right on the beach, and was centrally located to go sightseeing all over Maui. We enjoyed breakfast/lunch on the balcony & watching the canoes going out for the day through the rock wall. I was a little concerned about how effective the room AC units would be (since I'm used to central a/c), but we stayed completely comfortable the entire time. We came with extended family & rented 2 other units which were also nice - just pay attention to which ones have been updated. 405 was great- updated & clean. Parking spots were tight for the suburban-size vehicle we had, but fine for the more standard size car that my brother rented. We always found a spot too. Overall we thought it was a great location & value, & would definitely stay again!
We have stayed in Kihei twice and I feel like this is the perfect property. It is fairly far north but unlike the places more south, it is directly on the water. The Menehune Shores staff keeps the property SPOTLESS. Absolutely beautiful grounds and amenities. The unit itself is up-to-date, was super clean and has all of the things you need to enjoy the beach. The water section in front of the property is a great place to swim and is very easily accessed. A lot of rental properties embellish their balcony views but the views from this unit were even better than pictured. Lastly, communication from the host was top-notch. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend staying in this rental.
This was the perfect place for a visit with my retired Mom for her first time to Maui.The Condo is exactly as pictured including the view from the balcony. Menehune Shores is in N. Kihei at the bottom of Maalaea Bay, It is home to a historic fishpond built of rock along its shores. With it's shallow waters and lack of current this can be a very welcoming place for younger and mature people to get in the ocean. The other side of the rocks provide a safe haven for turtles, if you like to snorkel. The roof top has great views and additional grills. We were able to see multiple whales from here. and catch the sunsetOne major highlight or this Condo is how very well stocked it is. Not just enough basics (t.p, q-tips, soap, trash bags) to get you started off with but enough for your entire stay. Too many things to list them all. Additionally, it appears that the aloha is in full force as the kitchen had many things that I imagine folks had left behind for others (spices, oils, vintagers, coffee, ect.)The front bedroom has the ocean view and sound. the back bedroom faces Kihei Road and has the traffic sound. We did not find this to be a problem but that was one of the things I saw folks comment on in other reviews.This property has a glowing review from me and was perfect for bring my Mom. This was a great option for us for our stay on Maui. The condo is updated and well appointed. Communication with Kristi was quick and easy. There are great restaurants within a 5 minute drive and the beach outside the condo area is great. We didn’t use the pool but it wasn’t crowded when we walked by a few times.
The cleaners could be a little more detailed as there was some hair on the towels and on the floor when we arrived. This is not fault of the owner though. The Indian restaurant smelled great but permeated some in the elevator and sometimes, the external hallway. Other than the few, minor things, we would stay here again.

We absolutely loved this property. Supplies such as beach towels, chairs, utensils, cleaners etc exceeded our expectations. Plenty of parking, drinking water bottle refill in building, no issues with elevators to 4th floor. Good internet wifi. My son spotted whales from the front beach. Views from living room and master bed were breathtaking, pictures on Vrbo site don't do justice. Furniture had modern coastal feel. Indian restaurant downstairs served halal lamb kabobs which worked out for us and delicious food. Conveniently located to good restaurants, scuba shops, groceries, etc. Owner was very nice and super responsive. Private Washer/dryer worked great. All family members had great time, no issues I can think of.
This was a perfect place for our family of five to enjoy a few night in Kehei. We were so impressed by how stocked the unit was with everything we could have needed, including chairs and towels for the beach, a fully equipped kitchen, and water toys for the kids. Kristi was super fast to respond to any questions I had, and it was a really seamless process to stay in this really well-appointed unit.
