We stayed at this property for 7 days, Dec 7-14th. It was a very short drive from the airport and had free parking on the property. Found the check in email was confusing regarding which building we would be staying in/parking in. Got in late at night and were struggling with our luggage walking around trying to find out which building was “plantation” or “mill” as it’s hard to see at night when pulling in for the first time. Condo itself had great air conditioning, kitchen area and living room. Definitely will need a trip to the grocery store as the starter kit will not last you more than a few days. Unfortunately, we found a cockroach in the bed like 5 minutes after arriving. Kinda made us paranoid the entire stay about keeping our luggage zipped and off the floor to avoid bringing any friends home. We understand it’s the tropics but …. we were not super happy about that day one. Manager was great to set up additional traps to put us at ease. The bed was also so squeaky but really comfortable. Would highly recommend bringing your own beach towels (ones supplied were super small). Never had to fight to get a spot at the pool or beach. The pool and hot tub were perfect!! So clean and well maintained. It may be a Kihei thing but it was so windy on this beach!! Property was central to lots of great restaurants and other beaches. Really enjoyed Dina’s sandwitch shop for a quick lunch. Highly recommend the Kihei cafe for breakfast. Thank you for our first Maui vacation.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in paradise. The condo was perfect for the two of us. The view from the lanai was incredible - you are so close to the water and the sunset views are amazing. The beach was private and there were always lounge chairs available to sunbathe. We will definitely be back again!
We had a wonderful stay at Sugar Beach! Everything you could ask for in a property - amazing views, beachfront, excellent pool and hot tub. The unit even had beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler. The beach was never crowded and the water was wonderful. Clean unit, fully equipped kitchen-couldn’t ask for more. We would absolutely return here!

All went well during our stay. We wound up driving 45 mins or so up to Whaler’s Village a couple times during our stay, which is more of a ‘hot’ area for tourists, but being able to return to the calm of the condo was great. Plenty of shopping opptys in the area, and being able to cook at ‘home’ was a great advantage.
Was disappointed with the lack of basic condiments available, as stocking all of that is an expensive endeavor, and I assume all are either taken or pitched after our stay. I’m guessing it may be an aftermath of Covid, but we actually had to buy salt, which was rather disappointing. That said, we would surely stay here again, but would pack in more basic supplies.

Perfect location from which to explore Maui! The beach, view, furnishings, decor, and amenities of Sugar Beach made our 10 days glorious! Management was quick to address a couple of minor issues. Absolutely a trip of a lifetime!
My brother Jesse who was to be placed on a heart transplant list in January 2024 died Christmas evening in Dallas, only hours before my trip to Hawaii for my 20th anniversary. He was 33 years old. I had to cancel this very special trip last minute that me and husband were looking forward to attending for 6 nights. We all live in Georgia.I had to try to figure out how to fly my daughter, my mother, 2 dogs, and my brother's body back to Georgia from Dallas. I immediately informed the airline and this property manager.I was told this is a business and because we didn't have trip insurance (which I thought I had purchased because I typically do) that I could not be rescheduled for this property for a later date or receive any of my money back (nearly $3500). The airline did work with me but this property refused to credit me at all. I begged this property manager for help but was told they are sorry for my loss but this is a business. I am a VRBO host and business owner as well and would NEVER be this heartless to my guests. My 20th anniversary was Dec.31st and we buried my brother on Dec. 30th. This has been the worst experience ever. I will NEVER book again with VRBO or this company. I will remove my hosting after this experience. I am grieving, hurt, and just disappointed that there was no human compassion shown to me and my family from this property. No business is worth human compassion and empathy. I am just now able to really sit and share my disappointment. I am so hurt.
This renovated suite is well equipped and has a fantastic view of the ocean. Great sunsets can be viewed from the balcony.
The building is well located, and at the north end of Sugar Beach.
The building is unfortunately old and facilities are getting dated.
There is a small ABC grocery store within walking distance. But you’ll need a vehicle to get to the main grocery and restaurants. They’re located in the Central to South part of Kihei.
Property Manager of this unit is located opposite to the building office. Quick response and very helpful if something is either missing or not working in the unit.
The location and views were amazing . The unit was remodeled and just lovely . Had everything we needed and more . Communication was easy and check in a breeze . I cannot say enough good things . We will definitely be back ! The hide a bed was comfy for our 13 year old and the King size bed was also comfortable for us .
