Resort property was very clean. Every morning I was there the pool and hot tub, sidewalks, grounds, etc. were deep cleaned. While there the flights of stairs and hall floors were deep cleaned, pool bathroom roof was deep cleaned, and the entire resort is being repainted. A very well maintained property.Upon arrival I noticed the unit did not have a beach umbrella as advertised so I let them know and Kim had one sent up the next day.Pull out couch was actually very comfortable and my family of four had plenty of space. Perfect location on the island- can get anywhere quickly.Some have complained about the wind but it helped make hot summer sun less scalding, like a fan was constantly on outside. It was really nice actually. You can go to other beaches on the island for a day if you desire less wind.Ocean in front of property is murky and not good for snorkeling but fine for all other water activities.No complaints, the room was advertised accurately.
Overall, place was accurately depicted, was clean, and in a central location. Check-in process was not clear to us but we called the property number and it was resolved quickly. Would book again.

We arrived on Christmas day and the office was closed. It said we’d get a code 3 days before the end of the department and we never received a code. Period the property owner never gave us her phone number so we did not know how to get a hold of her. We had to Before we get a hold of the property company to let us in.. Then the safe in the unit there was no code for it even though they told you to please lock your valuables up so I had to request the code from the owner again.
Well stocked, clean and comfortable
We had such a great time on Maui and at SBR!! We felt comfortable like at home, but with all the amenities of a great vacation. The condo was well stocked with everything we could need. It’s also centrally located to have easy access to all corners of the island. The beach is great for long walks and not crowded. Our room being on the south of the property was great because we didn’t get harsh sun on our lanai during the day, plus had a great view of the sunset. We highly recommend this condo and definitely will be booking again!
Fantastic location. Direct beach access is a definite plus. Fourth floor- it was nice to have elevators going up :-). The corner apartment was nice for extra light and the bird refuge across the way made a nice scene.
The fridge ice machine was a little wonky but managed okay. Communication with the owner was always prompt and pleasant.
We had the best time at the Sugar Beach Resort. My husband and I traveled with our two teens. The unit was very comfortable for the 4 of us. We did not need a lot of space, since we spent most of our time outdoors at the beach or exploring Kihei and the rest of Maui. The king bed was super comfortable and my teens said they slept great on the pullout sofa bed. Check in was a breeze. The location is perfect, within 5-10 minutes drive to all the restaurants in Kihei, 15-20 min to Wailea. The beach is quaint and quiet. The property is beautifully maintained, we met some of the owners at the pool and it seems like it is a really nice community. People are out BBQing every night on the lawn. We had no issues and no complaints, would definitely return!
Fully stocked with cookware etc, felt safe in the area. Plenty of things to do within a small drive and grocery etc nearby.
Didn’t realize this is the windiest area of the island so be prepared to venture out.
Has a great time though.
Very clean except the bathroom shower walls had product and residue from the previous visitors.
You also have to take out the trash which I’ve never had to do considering cleaning fees and all that gets charged but the trash shoot is nearby and there were plenty replacement bags.
Wasn’t that big a deal. I would recommend the place if you don’t mind wind. The view of the ocean is still great.
Our family stayed here for a couple days at the end of a longer trip to Hawaii. It was comfortable and easy to check in to. We really appreciated having laundry facilities and convenient parking. The beach was great but it was super windy while we were there.
We had a wonderful two weeks at Sugar Beach. Always something new to discover. Definitely recommend a visitor paddle with the Kihei Canoe Club! Condo was comfortable and had all the things we needed for meals and the beach. Lovely views from the lanai. Great walking beach and pool. We love our time at Sugar Beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was really nice to come back from exploring the island and relax on the patio or go down and sit at the beach. Short enough walk from the beach that it was easy to go back up to the condo to grab anything that we needed. Elevators were quick so we didnt have to go up the stairs every time. We noticed that one of the beach chairs in the rental had a broken leg. We weren't too concerned because there are already chairs at the complex, but owner responded quickly and had another chair delivered later that day which we appreciated. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location to explore all of Maui’s diverse activities-West Maui Mountain, Road to Hana, Haleakala Crater, and south Maui beaches. We liked starting our day with a Long Beach walk followed by sipping coffee on the lanai. From the lanai there are views of ocean and WMM. We enjoyed relaxing after a busy day by the pool/beach. This is a cozy, comfortable unit.
