This is our second time at Honua Kai, and the first time in this room. It met or exceeded our expectations at every turn. The view of the room is obviously the star, but everything else is wonderful as well. Comfortable beds and furniture, amenities/supplies were generous, and they had lots of extras for beach play, and items specifically for our toddler. Speaking of that, one of the pack and plays was broken, but luckily they had 2, so we didn't have any issue. The host told me to discard the broken one, and placed an order for a new one right away for the next guests that may need it.We still love Honua Kai as a whole. We were worried in the 10 years since our last visit for our honeymoon that the property might be showing it's age, but it was just as lovely and well taken care of as it was upon our first visit.Our experience was great, the communication was always on point, and the Aloha has once again invigorated our spirit. We can't wait to return! A few small notes, the oven has had it's numbers/arrow worn off, so we did burn the heck out of our bacon, so that's a tiny area of improvement. Also some felt pads for the lanai chairs to make them less noisy when moving them around. They were pretty heavy to lift and move, so most of the time we scooted them, and they made a lot of noise.Those tiny gripes don't distract from the otherwise wonderful stay at all.
Condo with a beautiful view. Rooms were comfortable. Enjoyed having coffee from balcony in morning and wine in evenings. Kitchen had everything you need to cook. Everything kept nice and clean
This was the second time we’ve stayed at the Honui Kai and this Condo is everything you could want in a 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom unit. Also, the 2 queen beds in the 3rd bedroom is definitely an added bonus, and the view is simple amazing! The unit was very clean and the property manager did a great job with any needs we had. We would easily stay in this unit again.
Pros Clean condo and awesome views. Everything we needed was provided. We used the beach chairs a lot. Market within walking distance and loved the pools. Dukes food was amazing and we wanted to eat there as much as we could. Cons. Some of the items were damaged like the toilet paper holder and hand towel holders. Took us a minute to figure out the showers. Exterior chair cushions were ripped. Thermostat would reset every night and we would have to adjust it to keep it cool.Overall a great location and experience. Would go back if we could.

We had a great time at this location! Communication was handled so quickly, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen nicely appointed! View offered incredible whale watching daily and that was a highlight!! Enjoyed the beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and boogie boards.Fun to be close to Dukes for dinner and lunch out when we wanted. Enjoyed using the grills down by the pool too! Would stay here again and highly recommend! Our family of 6 adults and 2 kids were very comfortable!!
Beautifully appointed 3 BR with gourmet kitchen. Beautiful views from the huge balcony!
We loved the view with the whales right out our balcony. The kids loved the pools and swam until they were exhausted. The beds were comfortable and it was the perfect space for a family.
Great location, resort, and room. Lots of extras in the room such as bogie board, beach chairs, and coolers.
We had the absolute most amazing stay! The view was phenomenal, the rooms were ahhhhhmazing, the most comfortable beds!
This property is wonderful. I have had a Property Management business for 40 years and also have a rental on VRBO, so feel that I can confidently say you won't be disappointed in this unit.We loved stargazing and whale watching from deck.It had everything we needed for our family!
Beautiful property, very friendly and helpful staff, perfect view from balcony looking at the beach. Dukes Restaurant was excellent and convenient. Owner and property manager quick to respond to any questions. Rooms all spacious and large dining and living area. Condo very well stocked. Wonderful place to stay! We enjoyed our 8 days here. Watched some exciting Basketball at the Maui Invitational.
Beautiful resort. Loved the 3 bedroom, 3 bath arrangement for 3 couples - everyone had their own bathroom.
Great stay for family of 9 ages 4-73. Beautiful apartment (though there is some wear and tear). Comfortable beds. Appreciated the provided beach chairs, sand toys, and games. Easy check in process and the complex has great amenities and a good beach. Good communication with the owner through VRBO though I must comment that on our 2nd day of the trip I got an email that my reservation had been cancelled and when I called to see what was going on only after 10min of being on hold found out that email was because that specific company no longer had a relationship with the owner and therefore was no longer managing my stay and therefore it was “cancelled” in their system (it was managed by another property management company).
Only other comments- Water pressure is a bit too strong in the showers. Kitchen needs more utensils.

Very clean and accommodating. Great communication with the owner. Beautiful views and constant breeze where condo is situated. We had a lovely time. Breakfast on the lanai every morning was peaceful and views breathtaking. Will definitely recommend and return someday.
Walked in and looked like online pictures. Looked closer and furniture/chairs/ carpet was filthy. Some of the chairs were a bit broken. Whoever does the cleaning the floors and outdoor patio were filthy dirty and all of us needed shoes on the entire time or your feet were black!!
Beds were good in all rooms…extra towels instead on 1 per person would have been great as there were NO rugs on any floor except the dirty one in family room which no one could sit on.
All and all the location, view were wonderful
Entire 3-generation family of 6 people loved the spacious condo, loved the easy access to the beach and location in West Maui, loved the views at all times of day. Condo was well-stocked and had all necessary appliances and utensils. Very comfortable sleeping and seating accommodations. Would certainly stay again!
You could not ask for more with this condo. It's spacious, clean, modern and has an amazing view.
The property itself is well maintained and up to date. There are several pools and hot tubs. Duke's is a nice restaurant (but pricey).
The beach was nice and we saw many unique fish while snorkeling.
I couldn't recommend this enough!

Side note: the master bedroom tv didnt work and wasn't resolved byvthe time we left. Living room couch and area rug need to be updated
We have stayed at numerous Maui condos and accommodations, and this has been one of the best. Descriptions provided by owner in VRBO are accurate representation of the beautiful unit.
Even though Maui in Feb was only 70-80 degrees with some high winds and crazy swells, Honoa Kai still had it all. Snorkeling on nice days when safe, surfing on bad weather days for the experienced surfers, great pool options for all, close to shopping and great food with in 5-25mins away. This was the second time we stay here and will do it again for sure.
