After checking in late at night I walked around the unit and found little black bugs in the kitchen, bathroom and my bed. Later I saw a cockroach. The bedsheets had stains and shower curtain was covered in mold and mildew. I am pregnant and was also worried about the fumigation that was scheduled the next day for the entire floor. I wrote a note to refuse the fumigation for my unit for my safety but the unit definitely needed it.
I immediately contacted the property manager KBM and the next day they were very helpful in finding me a new unit in the same building. They were very responsive and professional and I understand it’s a tropical destination but this place made me so uncomfortable.
I was very disappointed and stressed out by the condition of the unit as I’ve stayed at Honua Kai previously for my wedding and honey moon and wanted to return for my babymoon this time.
We had an amazing time staying here! The resort, beach and pools were just what we were after! Our kids had a great time in the pools and especially the slide. Our 20 month old couldnt get enough of the slide actually! The property is beautiful, we'll definitely stay here again. If I had one complaint, it was our dryer wouldnt dry no matter how many times we ran a cycle. Other than that everything was perfect!
I highly recommend the resort and would book again. The staff is very nice and the unit is extremely clean. Location to beach, pools, local dining, etc was perfect. This was the perfect once bedroom for our mommy daughter trip.
Loved our stay at Honua Kai. Great unit with partial ocean view. We ate breakfast on the patio watching the ocean every morning. Appreciated the umbrella and cooler left for our use! Lovely pools, many to choose from. Convenient restaurant on the property and next door to food truck park, for takeout to eat while watching the sunset on the beach.
This a great family resort right on the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful condo and amenities. We really loved having boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas and a cooler available to us. We had a family of four, 2 adults and 2 teens in a one bedroom condo and it was perfect.
Awesome location and very well equipped rental. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay as well as trips to the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was better than we even imagined. From the fast check-in, the best equipped hotel gym, the pools and drink service out front and the location this place was everything we needed. Shout out to the guys at the desk out front who were so friendly and helpful. The room was well equipped with a fantastic view and we will definitely be coming back!
We had an excellent stay. Check in and check out was simple; much easier than a hotel. Free parking. Room was spotless and well furnished. Dryer was temperamental but property manager was helpful. Grounds and pool area were excellent.. Beach was just ok. Not a lot of food options so a car was necessary. Food trucks across the street were great.
Really enjoyed this location! Beautiful view, great pool, perfect beach for watching sunsets. Only a 5-minute drive to Whaler's Village to shop and eat at restaurants.
