We recently spent a wonderful 17 days here to relax and recharge. Our trip was everything we wanted it to be. It suited us perfectly for many reasons: LOCATION: Kamaole Sands is one of the most beautiful and one of the top developments in Kehei; Kamaole III beach is directly across the road with a lengthy sand beach which is a perfect spot to watch the sunsets; 2 blocks away from a weekly artisan market; many shops and restaurants are all available within easy walking distance just a few blocks away yet, this location is not in the middle of the hustle and bustle activity along South Kihei Road farther north. CONDO: Exactly as pictured; We had everything we needed; 4 beach chairs and an umbrella available to use at the condo; kitchen had everything we needed to cook which we did almost every day; lots of towels and bedding linen. Could this condo use some upgrades? Sure. But is it priced to reflect that, and we could not have afforded to stay in a higher priced upgraded unit. This location was perfect for us! The best part is the LANAI: This development has two different sized Lanai and this condo has the largest of the two sizes. (another reason we booked it) We spent a great amount of time out there. Room for a table and four chairs plus a lay down lounger. Because of the depth it is never in full sun during the day, and there was always shade, to relax it. A small view of the ocean is always present to remind you where you are with three fountains in view
We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. The kitchen was well stocked which we had read about in other reviews. One thing we really liked was the location of the condo within the complex. The fountains were not only nice to look at, they also wiped out the noise from the street. We have stayed at another complex for a number of years but chose this complex because we had our granddaughters with us. We will definitely choose Kamaole Sands for our next trip to Maui.
Resort grounds were beautiful and so close to the beach. Condo was pleasant but bathroom fan in main bedroom was very loud and annoying. Overall stay was very nice
Pros:-Kind owners-Unbeatable proximity to the beach-Beautiful grounds-Lots of amenities on grounds like BBQs, pickleball, tennis, pool, good weights/cardio gym-pullout couch was very comfortable -AC worked well-Awesome lanai, mix of sun and shade-Clean unit, everything workedCons-Dated interior in general. Needs updating, especially when seeing inside the other 2 units our group had in this complex during this visit. Chipped walls here and there, some mildew in shower, older kitchen. But it was all 'fine'.-Fan in bedroom still a problem, not secured well enough. I see concerns about this date back over a year.--Next to elevator can be an issue if you are a light sleeper, but we didn't find that too much of an issue.-Charged a resort fee upon arrival that we had not been expecting during the booking. The other 2 units had it included in VRBO pricing.Overall:It was fine. We were safe, it was clean, great location, great complex. Unit itself is....fine, not 'wow'.Thanks for letting us stay in your unit.
My wife and I were there almost three weeks. Would definitely stay there again. Liked the large Lanai as well.
We enjoyed our stay at the Kamaole Sands. Great location and perfect place to relax, snorkel and walk along the sandy beaches.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Into was well stocked. Made lots of good use of the beach chairs and umbrella. Grounds a clean and beautiful. Pool, hot tub, Pickleball court and grills all in good working order and we enjoyed all of them immensely. We’ll be back again for sure!!!
Great location, we finally made it back to Maui after last year reroute to Kauai as a result of the Lahaina fires. Unit was clean and well stocked. Great amenities and a quick walk to Kam 3 beach and shopping. Pickle ball and the swimming pool was great!
We love the Kamaole Sands Resort. The grounds are beautiful and the walkability to the beach and restaurants is awesome. The communication with the Hernandez' was fantastic. All that being said, I concur with many of the reviews that call out the need for updates to the unit. The new flooring throughout most of the unit is great. The lanai is wonderful. The kitchen and bathrooms are tired. The air conditioning is only in the living room area. We really prefer to not use air conditioning, and we managed without it because Kihei has trade winds most afternoons so you can create a cross wind by having the door open and the lanai open. The bedroom would have been too hot for many people. There is a ceiling fan, but any speed above very low creates a major wobble and feels unsafe to sleep under. This should be addressed right away. Also, the wicker couch isn't that comfortable to sit on for longer periods. Would be great to replace that. But, all in all, we would stay again.
The grounds are beautiful, pool is great! The unit is dated but comfortable enough. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Washer/Dryer is great.
We always enjoy staying at Kamaole Sands. Construction was being done 0n the roofs but that wasn't an issue.
The place was great and it suited the needs of our family for our stay here. It is walking distance to the beach (pretty much just across the street) and walking distance or a short drive to many places to eat and shop. We would definitely rent from here again!

We had such a lovely stay! The location is fabulous - Right across from one of our favorite beaches on Maui.
The condo had everything we needed. It was spacious inside, and we really enjoyed the lanai! The gardens, tennis, pickle ball, and pool were also great. We would highly recommend this place and would stay here again!
