Property Description
The property is a one-acre lot with a small mango orchard (30 trees), fruit trees (lime, lemon, orange and avocado) and a beautifully manicured landscape. The cottage is separate from the main house, so your privacy is assured. There is a bathroom (with tub/shower), an outdoor shower, a well-equipped kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker, a queen-sized bed, an indoor eating area, as well as an out-door table and chairs, and a gas grill for cooking.

Our stay at the Pineapple Patch cottage was a wonderful experience. The location was beautiful and we loved to have a quiet place to come back to after adventuring around the island! Would recommend a visit to this lovely place if you like quiet and beautiful views.

The place was fantastic!!! Jim was so accommodating, and Kona & Bennie did a good job of ensuring we were always welcomed back when we returned from our daily adventures! I cannot do justice to describing the place and give it my highest recommendation!!!

We enjoyed our 4 day stay. Lots of privacy, clean and Jim and Terry were so accommodating. Loved sitting out on the patio surrounded by flowers. There is a beautiful view of the ocean from one side of the driveway and sunsets on the other. Lots of beautiful birds. The coqui frogs were loud at night, but beautiful calling to each other. Beware of the steep road leading to their driveway. I agree with other reviews that advised not going for the first time in the dark. We were thankful we followed their advice.

The property is located a few minutes away from the best snorkeling destinations on the island making it easier to snorkel in calm morning waters and beat the crowds. The propery is beautifully landscaped and with vreathtakubg views from the property. Jim is a great host, and so are his two friendly dogs, Kona and Ben. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend this place!

We stayed three nights in the Pineapple Patch Cottage and we couldn't have picked a better spot for our time on the west side of the island. Each morning found us sitting at the patio table enjoying a fresh brew of Kona coffee. The cottage is simple but very homey and has what you need. And Jim is a wealth of information about the island. After being out all day seeing the sights-the Painted Church, the Peace Garden, Kaloko-Honokohau national historic park, many beaches, drives, views and cafes-we returned to grill our dinner and enjoy a bottle of wine. We're not fans of big fancy hotels. If you want to see Kailua-Kona like a local this is the place for you!

This cottage is such a gem for one or two people. We really enjoyed staying here. The hosts were very nice and helpful with any questions we had both prior to our visit and during our stay. The place was super clean, the bed was comfortable with lots of different pillows for different likes and the hosts had so many items to use that one might need. The kitchen had a coffee pot and they even had some kona coffee in a sealed plastic container for us to use. We are snorkelers so we really liked the outdoor shower to rinse off our gear and to clean off without having to use the shower inside. They even had shampoo, conditioner and body wash outside for the shower (hot water too). The location was south of the airport in the "country" but close to the ocean with great scenery. The best snorkeling place was right down the road (where the parking was for the trail head). The hosts were very nice and if you book they send you so much useful information about the area and places to go so you can plan ahead. We really liked that. We recommend the free coffee tour with Greenwell Coffee, it's very informative with samples afterwards. If you like pizza, in the nearby town of Captain Cook, Black Rock Pizza is good (and we are from Chicago). Highly recommend you stay here, especially if you want to get away from the city. So peaceful! By the way, the dogs are greeters and sweethearts. We really didn't see much of them after we got the initial "hello". We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed for several days, and wish we could have stayed more. The accommodations are lovely, exceptionally neat, and our hosts clearly put a lot of thought into helping their guests have a fabulous stay. Because our visit was brief, we didn’t have the opportunity for many things, but we appreciated the local area knowledge and recommendations from our hosts. The cottage is nicely decorated and well stocked with anything we could need, the bed comfortable, and the quiet of the area was a valued respite. Communication was great and we felt very welcome. We loved this area of the coast and this property, and are resolved to return soon. Thank you!
